Life is skittles and life is beer... I refer, of course, to two things: The fact that today was the first day of spring (well, going by the months rather than the equinoxes and such), and that great Tom Lehrer song, 'Poisoning Pigeons in the Park,' which starts off with the line: 'Spring is here.' Allow Youtube to sing it to you. Anyway. Let's have a look at my day, shall we?
Period 1 was Science, in which we did some work on (get this): acceleration graphs. So this one is like the distance and the velocity graph, but it measures acceleration. I think that these are just getting repetitive, and ultimately, annoying (and Robson agrees. See?). We also did an experiment in which we dropped tennis balls from a railing, and see how long it takes for them to drop (insert obvious pun about balls dropping here). Period 2 was Geography, which was again going on the computers to do some work on that assignment. It's coming along pretty well, in fact. Recess was 31.
Period 3 was English, in which we read from the creepiest poem ever: Porphyria's Lover (courtesies of Wikipedia for the full text. Oh, and speaking of Wikipedia, I might just say this now: as you might think, it is, in fact, my home page.). Seriously, just read it: it is creepy. Only word for it. We've read it before in Drama, and I can tell you: it never gets better. Still, it's worth reading, just to have a look at it. Period 4 was Maths, in which we followed from the sine rule and got something: the cosine rule. I've come across it before, and I couldn't understand a bit of it. But now, now it all makes perfect sense, and I can repeat what I said yesterday: maths is awesome. I mean, you would think that getting the result would be complicated, but the equation is (fairly) simple, and possibly the most amazing thing is that it works. Anyway. Lunch was cards.
Period 5 was Drama, in which we finished the play of King Oedipus. Also creepy, as Oedipus ends up killing his father and marrying his mother (to quote Homer, 'Who pays for that wedding?'). Oh, and it gets worse: he fathers kids. With his mother. Eurgh. And he just kept going on about it. Even with his kids around. It gets worse (if that were possible), with him gouging his eyes out. With his hands. OK, I'm changing topic, because this is just going on and on. Period 6 was Commerce, in which we just did work from sheets. However, about halfway through the lesson, Lucy came in from Food Tech, bringing along a strawberry soufflé. And that accordingly went around the class, with it getting to me, who, as nobody else wanted it, finished it.
When I got home, I talked on MSN, and blogged. I had just finished Monday's post when it was time to go to Lachlan's (Shay's brother) birthday party. He was 11, and both families (mine and his) all went out to Lone Star. While there, I talked to Shay, and to eat, I had these Amarillo chips, which are chips with cheese and bacon over them. Pardon me while I drool. They were delicious. For dinner, I had a burger with bacon and beef... Sorry. It was really good. Chips also came with it. After we had finished, we went to Shay's place, where we had conversation and white mud cake. I also went to blog, but not enough. So here I am.
And that was my day. Sorry for the late post. With hapkido and assignments and all that, a post that is actually on schedule may be coming later rather than sooner. Ah well. That happens, and there's not much we can do. Anyway.
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring,

Gone Clubbing
Because I went to EJ's footy club for his game and I went to a club for my great-grandmother's ninetieth. Ta-da! Titling is not that easy, OK? Although this one is one of the better ones of late. Anyway. Also a late post, but not as late as it could have been. But, yeah, still late. It is the weekend, after all.
I got up at around 8:30, and we had to rush around to get ready for footy. We got to the ground at about 9:30, and I read my New Scientist magazine for a bit. I also ended up going around selling Tigers newsletters for 50c each. Shaylee talked me into it, somehow. I sold 3 copies, and got a dollar donation. $2.50 for about 20 minutes work. $2 if you factor in how I got a lollipop for doing it. Yeah. Then, Nanny, Poppa and Aunty Fay came over, and I talked to them for a bit. EJ's game started at around 11 (I think). It was a pretty intense game, and I had to run like there was no tomorrow. At one point, courtesy of Billy, I had to run from one end of the ground to the other. Which was extremely tiring. EJ's team ended up winning by 30 or 40 points, and on his 151st game. That means he broke the club record. The only thing I have in footy now that he doesn't is a Best & Fairest (I got one when I was comparatively good. EJ keeps getting seconds and thirds. I only got anything on that year.). After the game, we (Nanny, Mum, Aunty Fay and I) rushed back home to get ready to go to a birthday.
It was my great-grandmother's, or Big Nan's, nineteth birthday, and we went up to Canley Heights Club (please note: I could be entirely wrong. I forget the actual name of the club.) for the celebration. We met up with Dad and EJ there, who had come directly from footy. I, fortunately, had brought my iPod and book, as it was mostly adults and kids under 12 there. So for most of the day, I read, and when I finished it, I took out my iPod. I also ate a lot, as I would. The whole thing went for about 2 and half hours. On the car ride back, Dad, EJ and I sang alogn to 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,' as we attached my iPod to the speakers. And so for the rest of the night, I played Battlefield Heroes, as well as trying to get MSN to work, as it was, and is, stuffing up on me. Ah well. That happens. I just wish it didn't.
And that was my day. Sorry about the shorter post, but there wasn't much to blog about. And there's no comments. But hey, that happens. I might also do a list for Sunday's post, if I'm not playing Battlefield Heroes, that is! Ah, it's a fun game. Not for everyone of course, but a lot of people might like it. Anyway.
My titles will hopefully improve,

My Cursed Date
It's June 18. Good for my Dad: Happy Birthday Dad! (Yes, their birthdays are next to each other). But June 18 is my bad day. In 2000, I was in hospital with some blood problem on June 18. And the very next year, on the very same date, I ran headfirst at full speed into a flagpole. Today was not as bad as either of those, of course, as I didn't go to hospital. But it was still fairly bad. We'll see how, shall we? And yes, it's a late post. My unlucky streak continues.
Before school, I finished off my post from yesterday, as well as seeing the new YGOTAS episode. It's back, baby! I was dropped off at school, and Period 1 was something called 'Cheap Thrills.' I ended up volunteering for one of the roles before the act started. And how I came to regret that. At one point, the guy was pretending to be his own character's mother (it was one of those plays), and he called upon 'Aunty Pat.' And pointed to me. My face, or so I think, was stuck in an expression of a combination of shock, horror, and 'dear god, please not me.' But I was called up nonetheless, and the torture only lasted for a few minutes. The best thing that could be said about it was that it was a nice waste of a period. The actor said that the events 'could happen to anyone.' But, watching the play, he made it clear that it would only happen to people who drunk underage, stole a car, crashed it, and started smoking marijuana. Message not received.
Period 2 was History, which ended up being just talking about subject selection with Hewie, Alan and Chris, as well as doing a brief amount of work. Recess was trying to see Mulligan (the new Vice Principal) about the Subject Selection Sheet. But he wasn't here. Just my luck. So I went back, and played some 13. Period 3 was Maths, in which Rawson sprung a surprise quiz on us. I have not had a surprise quiz in ages. Possibly ever. And I spent the last part of the quiz working out an answer longways, because I forgot the formula. Then remembered the formula wrongly and changed my answer. Sometimes I can be a royal idiot. Period 4, though, was Science, which was a pretty good lesson. Robson unleashed a program called Audacity, which I have since downloaded. You can make tones, white noise (love the song), and the awesomest feature, you can record your own voice and do stuff to it like change the pitch of it, so you sound like Darth Vader or Mickey Mouse on helium. I love it.
Lunch was the usual. Period 5 was Commerce, which was a bludge, with Lizzie's Commerce group doing their video for the in-class assignment. Period 6 was English, in which possibly the worst event of the day: I got my exam back. The whole thing rested on one interpretation of the story. You get that wrong, say goodbye to a good mark. God. Damn. Kolodziej. He seems insistent on damaging my schooling to the limit with his English marking and the bloody 4 page Drama journal. Anyway. After school, everyone in our Drama group (bar Amy), and Revathy, filling in for Amy, did some work on our assessment. Then at home, I watched some TV, went a bit on my laptop. The usual. I also didn't get to finish the post, so here I am.
To comments, just the one. Slightly pointless, but anyway.
*Ebony: Thank you!
Well, that was my Thursday. The next few posts may be a bit late; there are things on. All to be explained when the day comes.

Exercise and More Exercise
Today involved a lot, I mean a lot, of exercise. Read through and you'll get the general picture. And, Happy Birthday EJ! He is 11. Also, I know it is a late post. Blame hapkido. Even awesomeness has its downsides.
I slept in 45 minutes today, after the exhausting night I had last night. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on which way you put it), I got to school on time, but I only got to blog something like 2 paragraphs before it was time to go to school. Oy vey. When I actually got to school, not many people were there, and several people went to an IPT excursion. The people who were left at the table: me, Kevin, Andy, Ian, Shafi. Role Call was just reading. Periods 1 and 2 were PE, which was more cricket. We were playing indoor cricket instead though, and as we couldn't lose the balls, and they were tennis balls, we could smash them basically as hard as we wanted to. And smash them I did. Heaps of our people. In one memorable event, Alan hit a ball of Hewie, which went straight into a Lachlan Macquarie plaque (Macquarie is always getting smashed), then bounced straight into Allie's head. Wilson also warned us about hitting the clocks; but he said we'd need good timing to do that (Timing? Clocks? LOL!). I loved smashing it. Towards the end, we played 2 games of indoor cricket, of which our team won both. Go the Blues! (We were the blue team.)
Recess was 13, with everybody here. So, 5. We managed it though. Period 3 was Commerce, which was doing work on our in-class assignment. I do not want to be stuck doing it all like the last Commerce in-class assignment (bloody Matt and Javery). But, yeah, I actually got some work done. Lunch was 13, even when Shafi and Ian left, and we were stuck with 3 people. So we added an imaginary guy called 'Larry' for some reason, and we could take any hand we wanted. That was fun.
Then it was School Sport, in which we went back into the hall after a while with everyone procrastinating. We played dodgeball, so it was a good thing that Ebony was at the IPT excursion. I did pretty well, except for when I accidentally took out Alex Tieu. Long story short, he was sitting down, I threw a ball, people got out of the way, the ball hit him. In the braces. Not my fault; sitting down in a game of dodgeball is a very, very bad idea. Anyway. First we played against the Year 9s, with Year 7s split between us. We won all of the games we played against them. Then we played the Year 7s. We won most of the games, but not all. They outnumbered us, man! I was picked up by my Dad around 2:30, and then we went to Wattle Grove Shops. We got home around 3:30.
I finished my blog around 4;15, after much procrastination and other such things. I then spent a while on MSN, before going to EJ's birthday dinner. Which, in classic EJ style, was Red Rooster. I had way too much for dinner, I'll say that. Because, at 7, I left for hapkido. Shay didn't come, as she was sick. We had Grandmaster Geoff and Tina for teachers, and together they work pretty well. I got 2 signatures today, which puts me up to enough signatures for a tip! For those that don't know what that is, each 7 signatures, you get a tip. I'm not entirely sure why, but why not? I now have 8 signatures, and in exactly two weeks I am eligible for an orange belt (3 months, 20 classes. I've got two weeks before I've done 3 months, and I've done 18 classes.). Hopefully I'll get it soon. After hapkido, I got home, and did a bit of my blog, while eating some cake of course (mmm, chocolate cake...), and listening to Queen on my iPod. Hooray for Queen!. But I didn't get to finish my post, so here I am.
Well, that was my day. The next few posts shouldn't be too late. Or, alternatively, not very late. At least not too late. Oh, whatever.

Cooking, Dance and Chocolate
I would come up with a more creative title, but it's 9:15 on Tuesday night. (Please note: everything written after this point was written on Wednesday. Like this post, just pretend it was written on Tuesday. I was at my friend's place. I wasn't on MSN either.) But, here it is. And, yes, today was all about cooking, dance and chocolate (as well as a few other things.).)
I took the bus to school, after celebrating my Mum's birthday, and Victor was back. Seemed OK. Hmm. Period 1 was Geography, in which we did little work (I love to bludge). Next should have been Science, but instead it was the Glenfield Schools Reading Program (or something like that). What it is, essentially, is that a group of people take a bus to the local public school, and get some kids from Kindy to Year 2 to read to us. I ended up getting a Year 1 class, and this little girl walked out with a book, and we sat on the silver seats. And she did not want to read, I'll say that. Just to get her to finish one page was one of the Labours of Hercules, and finishing the book was a nightmare. At one point, she wanted to skip a page, and I tried to tell her: 'No, you have to read the whole page.' So, she crossed her arms and said 'I'm going to get very cranky if you don't let me not read those lines.' I decided there and then that I'd never make it as a teacher. She read the book through another 15 minutes of my life that I'll never get back, and I got another girl, who was unlike the other girl in that she was quiet, but like her in that she didn't exactly read with enthusiasm. On one page, she read through the word 'caterpillar' with ease, but stopped at the word 'at.' This is one reason I am an atheist: if there was a just god, this wouldn't happen. Atlas moment. She finally finished it, and then I got a boy to read to me. That went surprisingly easily, and then it was time to go. Recess was over by the time we got back to Hurlstone. On the plus side, I'm not doing it next week. On the minus side (I know that's not an expression. It should be.), it's because I'm doing an exam. On the 24th of March. Of course.
Period 3 was Ag, where we went down to the farm and talked about pregnancies in cows. Next was PE, theory, in which we had Jones, and where after 15 minutes of work and 20 minutes of reading, Tan and I played 13 until the bell went. The 1st half of Lunch was spent finding a room to dance in, and the 2nd half was spent dancing. We're actually going better than I expected: it's all starting to come together. Something else that happened in Lunch: Cam sent Victor and Kevin to go get me because he was writing songs, or something like that. After about 15 minutes, I went over to the table, although after about a minute, Oishi came and said we found a room. Cam's expression was priceless. Period 5 was Maths, in which we did some stuff about absolute values. Then it was Drama, where Kolodziej opened the door, but Arnault teached us. Ah, the insanity of the world. That was a pretty fun period, even though we had theory. After school came some more dance, and we were doing fairly well, if I do say so myself. When that ended, we went home (my New Scientist magazine finally came), and got ready for a party/celebration for my Mum's birthday. One of the best things: we were having homemade lasagne (lasagna? I don't know.), homemade garlic bread, homemade cannaloni, basically an Italian feast. That was also one of the worst things: I was having a hand in making it. Shaylee, her dad Mick, and I were all making dinner. I learnt what cannaloni is (though I doubt if I know how to spell it), how to pronounce gnocchi (nocky), and that when I move out I'll be living on two-minute noodles, tacos and spaghetti (I'm making myself hungry now.). The dinner was actually pretty good, except the garlic bread was just way too... I don't know how to describe it except it was a horrible tang. Eurgh. After that we watched TV, computer and Shay gave me some rock CDs, including Green Day, Powderfinger and Pink Floyd. (Here's something for you: why do all those bands have retarded names? I mean, they sound cool, but just think about it: Powder-finger? Pink Floyd? What is a floyd and why is it pink?) For dessert, we had this delicious multi-layered chocolate cake, with white chocolate on top: One of the most delicious things I've ever had, it was. Then, it was time to go.
And that was my Tuesday. Sorry I wasn't on MSN. I brought my laptop, but I forgot to bring my charger, and my laptop's battery is pretty much on life support. I'll have to get a new one.
Still dreaming about that cake,
AB

I mean, they sound cool, but just think about it: Powder-finger? Pink Floyd? What is a floyd and why is it pink?) For dessert, we had this delicious multi-layered chocolate cake, with white chocolate on top: One of the most delicious things I've ever had, it was. Then, it was time to go.
And that was my Tuesday. Sorry I wasn't on MSN. I brought my laptop, but I forgot to bring my charger, and my laptop's battery is pretty much on life support. I'll have to get a new one.
Still dreaming about that cake,
AB
