You know, of course, that I love Queen. And that my titling is slightly off, and especially for this one. So, we kill two birds with one stone and I reference Queen while simultaneously titling a post which is somewhat difficult to title in the first place. Welcome to my blogging life. Also, late posting. That's another difficulty. Without further ado now, let us adjourn and see where my day takes me.
I woke up at around 7:30, and once I was done with my chores and so on, I got on my computer, and I attempted to blog. And I got to the point where I was caught up by more than one thing, and blogging was always at the back of my mind (I really, really hate that. I mean, I try to get posts done, but... anyway. Insert rant here.). But mostly I played my DS, as I have been for a while, and specifically, I am caught up with a game called 'Pokemon Mystery Dungeon,' which I picked up again on Wednesday and have been unable to put down for too long (yeah, yeah, call me addicted. It's fun, though, and Eric enjoys it. Not EJ, the other Eric.). So I was doing that for a while, going on my DS and trying to blog. Annoying, yes, but that's the way it was.
Soon, EJ came out and decided to watch '2 and a Half Men,' after we got the third season from Dad (thanks, Dad!), and we began to watch it, and it is quite hilarious. Not as good as some other TV shows (in current TV shows, I think it's quite good. However, when you take into account anything with Rowan Atkinson or John Cleese in it, it gets left in the dust. Sorry, but that's just what I think. British comedy, people. Nothing beats it.). And thus, I continued my day with '2 and a Half Men,' and blogging. Although not quite enough.
And that was... wait, is that it? Nothing else happened in the day? Sadly, yes, my faithful readers (well, you are reading this, after all), as today was a day of doing nothing, as showed in the title. Something else; this post is incredibly short. Well below my usual standard of 500 words. Hell, for today, I'm lucky to get 400. Shame.
Short and late; not one of my better posts,

Boats and Goats
OK, this title is what you get when you do very little exceptional things in the day, and so you pretty much just pick some random stuff from periods that rhyme (as opposed to being alliterative. I think 'alliterate' is the verb, although I just made that up. I am apparently right, which is cool.). You'll see what I mean by my title when I get to their respective periods. Now, let us get to my day.
Period 1 was Science, and we were doing something quite strange. Basically, we were given a piece of paper, and we could fold it or cut it however way we liked, as long as it remained in one piece (sounds simple so far). Then, we had to make it float in water (paper boats? They work. Although I wouldn't want to be out at sea in one.). Weights were then put on it, and the person who could find a way to put the most mass on the paper boat wins. There were several designs, but the winner was eventually Oishi, whose design supported 24 25 gram masses, in a total of 600 grams. It was pretty much a plain sheet of paper whose sides had been folded slightly up to stop water from getting in. It was a fun period (I got 14, by the way. My design was a regular sheet of paper, but with the sides curved up. It worked a lot better than I had thought.). Period 2 was Computer Maths, and we were doing something to do with distance-time graphs. Yes, they're back for more, after we were sick of them in Science (that sorta sounds like a Hollywood movie trailer. If you'll indulge me here... 'You witnessed the sheer horror in Science, and now they have returned: in your Maths period. Coming this summer... an Alan Smithee production... Distance Versus Time II: Deathematics.' I'm sorry, I just felt like doing that.). Recess was talking.
Periods 3 and 4 were Agriculture, and we went down to the goat sheds to do some foot paring (like cutting nails, but with goat feet. The hooves basically. Or is it hoofs? Apparently, both. How crazy the English language is.). Now, I've said before how goats hate me, and this was not disproven, as the group I got in (consisting of me, Ebony, Alan, Lana and Shirisha) found the only goat whose hooves were so misshapen that none of us could work out exactly what to cut. Even Schippers was a little confused. But we got through it, by which time it was about halfway through Period 4. So I spent the rest of the time not doing much at all. Standard double Ag stuff, really. Lunch was the same as Recess.
Period 5 was English, and we all got our exam results back (I got mine back yesterday, but still. The rest of the class got theirs today.). It seems the average mark was something like 31 or 32, so I am quite happy with my mark (although just because you get above average doesn't guarantee a good report. Last year, for example, I got slightly above average in the exam for English and got a C, but got slightly below average in History and got an A. Does this make sense? Of course not.). Period 6 was History, in which I read the book that I had started this morning, 'A Prisoner of Birth,' which is a really good book. I recommend it (although, I recommend the majority of Jeffrey Archer books, especially 'As The Crow Flies,' as well as 'Kane & Abel.' I was going to put more here, but I would be going on for a bit.). It was sort of a bludge. And after school, I went home, and I watched Hamish & Andy's yearly Christmas show, which we had taped. Damn, but it's funny.
Comments away, with one from the one person.
*Mango: I would like to remind you that females outnumbered males at the concert in a six-to-one ratio. I rest my case here.
This was my day. As you just saw, I got a comment, for the first time in a while. I do enjoy comments, although I don't require them (there is a difference between want and need. Comments are an example of the former rather than the latter.). Also, it's a little late, but I am trying to deal with that.
I sorta like that title, although I don't really know why,

Everything Back But Work
This being a reference to the song 'Everything Back But You,' as well as referring to the fact that everybody came back to school, and that we barely do any work now. OK, that's that. Now, let us have a look at my day, and soon, for I am running out of things to say in this opening paragraph.
Before school, we talked about the camp, and it appears there were a lot of highlights and lowlights (apparently Mango took his shirt off at the disco. I now use that as a reason for not going to camp, in favour of the Britney Spears concert. I mean, what would you pick: Mango shirtless or Britney Spears?). Period 1 was Geography, and we watched another episode of 'Man vs Wild,' which is becoming a bit of a running joke in our class (there appear to be a few running jokes in the people I talk to, with 'Is it David?' being one example.). I mean, the guy will seemingly eat anything and drink anything out in nature, which would be good, except for the fact that he antagonises snakes (because that's what you want to do if you want to stay alive in the wild. You piss off deadly snakes.). So, take whatever he says with a grain of salt. Period 2 was Science, and we continued to learn about the acceleration due to gravity through pendulum swinging. We got a result of about 9.9, which is very close, if I do say so. Recess was talking.
Period 3 was Ag, and we all went down to look at the potatoes. It looks like they're about ready to be harvested, and from what Schippers said, we may be pulling them out either next week or the week after. After the week off, the weeds have been taking over the beds, and whether or not the bed survived depends on how well you mulched, and a bit of luck. Our bed was relatively unscathed, but the one across from ours had weeds taking over over half of the whole bed. There weren't many potatoes surviving. Period 4 was PE, and we weren't really doing much at all. I mean, it really didn't matter either way, so a lot of people just talked. I didn't do much, personally (a big bludge, it was.). Next was Lunch, and I went down to the English cottage to check my mark, as I had heard good things from people who were here on Friday. I got 35/40, which I believe was second in the grade (so my yearlies went really well. First in Drama and Commerce, and second in Science, PE and English. Quite good.).
Period 5 was Maths, and we were just pretty much doing questions out of the book (yes, we are still doing questions. The Maths staff seems to be doing that; they were doing logarithms in B1, I think. So, it's not just A1. Hell, half of B3 is still going for it. Not sure about C1, though they're probably not doing much.). Period 6 was Drama, and we got into groups to write some of the play about Michael Jackson's life. Eventually, though, our group split up (I was going to say schism, to reference 'A Series of Unfortunate Event,' but it didn't really fit. Ah well.), with Alice, Cameron and me talking and making jokes, and Ebony and Pradeepti actually doing work. At one point, I interrupted Ebony (I think. I don't really know; Ebony can respond to the smallest of things.), and she gave me a big whack across my leg. I had a red handprint on the side of my left knee for about half an hour. Soon I got home, and we left for hapkido at around 7.
Both Grandmaster Geoff and Shirisha were here today, and at one point, Grandmaster mentioned something about if anyone went to the Britney Spears concert. I put up my hand, of course; and was promptly bagged beyond all recognition (I'm exaggerating a little here. But not by much.). I'm lucky he didn't ask about 'New Moon.' In the actual class, we worked on some techniques. Dylan and I were partnered, and we were having issues with one technique (it's supposed to hurt, and I was on the ground and I wasn't feeling any pain.) We figured it out eventually, though. When I got home, I blogged, though not much. So here I am.
This was my Monday. I am aware that this post is rather late, but I shall soon be free of the burden of lateness and be back to a schedule of normality. Soon. I hope it won't be long, but we'll have to see.
May the normality resume soon,

Bludge & Gold
OK, I'm having slight titling difficulties. This one is a reference to the song 'Black & Gold.' So, yeah. I know my titling is a problem, I am trying to fix it. Some things are unavoidable though. Ah well. I better get to my day, which was quite good.
I was driven to school, after a stuff-up I made with packing my bag, and so I got to school early. At school, I talked to people, and I somehow started going nuts with puns, shoehorning everybody's names into puns (or, at least, I tried. I got most people though.). Throughout Role Call, which was first, I tried to think of a pun to go with Victor's last name (he said I couldn't do it. I got into the mindset that there had to be one, and I was going to find it.). We then had Assembly, and I told Victor and Ebony (who was with him, of course) what I had come up with, which was not something to write home about, but acceptable. In the Assembly itself, we had one guy who finally explained the signs that were up around the school about calling something 'gay' (it's hard to really explain, but he was pretty much saying that calling something 'gay' was wrong, comparing it to calling someone Asian or Christian, and to pick something else, which I fully agree with.). Most people I talked to were all behind him, some people were against him, and at least one person entirely missed the point, calling him 'gay.' Oy vey.
Period 1 was Geography, where we watched more of that 'Man vs. Wild' thing, with the guy this time going to Belize, where he told viewers to stay clear of a boa constrictor; and then promptly attacking it. I mean, he did kill it (and eat it), but if you don't get to kill it, then you could be in a bit of a fix. He also ate spider-scorpions (a sort of cross between the two, found in a cave. I forget the actual name, though.), and went after a rat. Period 2 was Science, in which we finished the experiment on pendulums (in the plural, I refer you to yesterday's post.). I think we mostly got an accelerator due to gravity of about 9.6, which is pretty damn close for a Year 10 experiment, I must say. Recess was me up at the office trying to pay for raffle tickets and return unsold ones, which took up a bit and I didn't get finished.
Period 3 was Ag, and we all went down to the farm to check our potatoes. We mostly spent the period weeding and mulching, and I of course listened to my iPod. The various groups and classes are all having different levels of successes with weeds, with some being almost free of them, and some being packed so close to the potato plants that you can't see the beds properly and pulling them out would be a significant hassle. It's pretty surprising (we are going pretty well, by the way.). Period 4 was PE, and we got our exams back. It seems a lot of people messed up, with the highest mark I saw being something like 85%. I actually got second in the class, which I'm pretty satisfied with (I really want to mention something here, although it's a little braggy, but here goes. I have had at least 4 top two results in exams in my class, not counting the Trial SCs that don't count, so to speak, with those being Commerce, Drama, Science and PE. I don't want to seem like I'm showing off, but that's damn good, if I do say so myself.). Lunch was the raffle tickets, doing a brief 'Bohemian Rhapsody' thing with Victor (at least four people in the group know a lot of the words to it: John, Ebony, Victor and me.), and talking about a burn that Ian did to Matt. I wasn't there, but I was told what happened by separate people, and suffice to say that it was the most epic burn I have ever heard, with little exaggeration. And coming from Ian... anyway.
Period 5 was Maths, and we were going to do probability before I brought up my School Certificate last question (the one about the sum of the cubes.). Rawson then got the class and him to work it out mathematically, which I didn't do in the exam. And for good reason, as it took quite a bit of the class (I got it right, by the way. Oh, yeah.). You have to work it out by mathematical induction (I'm not entirely sure what it is, but the Wikipedia article explains it pretty well.). Period 6 was Drama, and we had a pretty fun, sort of bludgy lesson wherein we talked about the play we are doing in a few weeks, the Michael Jackson tribute one. At one point, though, in the midst of discussing a lot of random stuff, Kolodziej came out with 'I wish there were more kid like Alex.' To which I responded with an confused and surprised look. It was jut something to do with doing well in class and doing what Kolodziej says, but still, it threw me quite a bit. We also talked about the Britney Spears concert, which I'm going to on Monday in place of camp (jees, I can't wait. It's gonna be great.). When I got home, I blogged some, and then we as a family watched a movie, which was 'The Boat That Rocked.' It was a pretty good movie; I sure enjoyed it.
That was my Friday. I'll really try to get back up when it comes to the ways of the on time posting, but we'll have to see. I'm just lucky my memory has improved slightly and I can remember in some detail about what I did on the days. Anyway.
So ends a week of exams,

Slow and Steady
That's right, we're going slow now that all the exams are done. And, erm, I couldn't really think of any better title. Sorry. Just ain't working out between me and titles for the moment. Ah well. Hopefully soon it'll all be patched up. Anyway. To my day, away!
Period 1 was Science, and we did an experiment, following up on yesterday's results of the assignment. We did work on pendulums (is it pendulums? It seems a bit off, it sounding Latin. Pendula would work, but it too just doesn't seem right. ...OK, I did some brief research on the subject, which can be found here. From now on, I'll just say pendulums. Ah, how crazy the English language is.), and the working out of the acceleration due to gravity of the Earth (do I find this interesting? Yes, I do.). Period 2 was Geography, in which we had a bit of a bludgy period watching a DVD (I know, I'm as shocked as you are) on some show called 'Man vs. Wild,' which was one of those nature survival shows, although it was a little different. A little different in that the guy (whose name is 'Bear,' which doesn't bode well) drinks his urine in the first 15 minutes, eats a spider (which he claims was only a little poisonous), then uses a snake as a necklace as he carries it across a river for some bizarre reason (what makes it worse is that the snake was territorial.). I'm sure it all made sense to him, but we were more than a little confused by the end. Recess was talking.
Period 3 was English, where we looked at a poem by Keats, called 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci.' That may not ring a bell to many, but I still remember looking at the poem from Year 6. I don't remember what I thought of it, but it must have been good for me to remember it from so long ago (it's a bit like 'Lily the Pink,' from which I can still remember some from the one playing of it by a teacher in Year 3. The lyrics are here, if you want to have a look; it's quite catchy.). I enjoyed it. Period 4 was Maths, and our teacher never showed up, and half the class were at their Computer Skills thing. So we all went to A2, and Eric, Kevin and I all watched Abridged on my iPod, and did puzzles and that type of thing. Lunch was talking, and going down to the music room.
Period 5 was Drama, and we all made parody plays on soap operas (you know, the overdramatic, tangled web of relationships show. I'm guessing about half of the people in the plays were gay. It just added to the drama.). Our group didn't get to finish when the bell went, which sucked because I didn't get to do much, but we were improvising most of it anyway. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, really (damn, I love that expression. No idea why though.). Period 6 was Commerce, in which we all watched a video on businesses (it sounds bad, but that's because explaining it would take a long while. It was good, trust me). We also got our results back, and I got 95%, which I believe was top of the class. So, pretty good, I must say. These Yearlies have been good to me (although I haven't got English back...), with the exception of Geography. And when I got home, I struggled with a capped internet, or at least, I think it's capped. I honestly don't know. Still, I'd prefer it if it wasn't of course.
Let's have a look at the comments, one from Shafi.
*Anon: I can tell it's Shafi because (and this needs some explanation) I asked him for a song that he had. However, it's not 'Can't Touch This,' so I have absolutely no idea where that last line comes in (it was 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams.').
And that was what happened in my day. I officially apologise for gradually later posting, but I am having real difficulties keeping up. Soon, soon, soon I'll get back up and I'll be posting in the same day. But not now. Just wait, though, it'll be coming soon.

The Answer
I thought the title should be a bit reflective of the last one. Basically, this just seemed to follow on, and I didn't want to do something like a play on words for something that's a little serious like the answer to the first time I've actually asked a girl out (this just in: AB has a blinding case of perspective). So, without further ado, let's have a look at my day, and the results of yesterday's big event.
Before school, Ebony and the girl I asked came up, who I can reveal was Shirisha (cue the dramatic theme music! Seriously, though, I asked her because she was nice, she was a girl that I talked to, and there weren't that many, and she went to hapkido with me. I asked her just as friends.). She said to me that she didn't want to go to the formal with a guy, which I accepted. I mean, I can't pretend that I wasn't a little disappointed, but I asked, and she said what she said. I was just proud of myself for actually plucking up the courage and asking. We then, afterwards, went to Role Call, where I read (Role Call on Fridays? It's a thing that goes on when the HSC is on. No idea why though.). It was then Assembly, where we has teachers talk for 10 minutes, after which we talked about electives (Cam is up in arms about the fact that they cancelled Multimedia. Me, I'm fine, as I got all of my electives; I found out yesterday. They also cancelled Art, which makes it really unfortunate for Victor, who I think picked Art and Multimedia. Damn.)
Period 1 was Science, and we got our results back. A lot of people messed up the exam, and nobody got over 90 (the highest mark, I think, was 89. It was out of 100.). I got 87, which was pretty good. A lot of the stuff I pretty much just guessed (not blind guesses, but logical guesses. But guesses nonetheless.) I got right, which was pretty good. Period 2 was Computer Maths, and we did some more studying for the Maths exam. Not that much of us in A1 need it, quite frankly (apart from one person who lost 20 marks because they actually missed a section. I mean, wow. I get missing a question, but missing a whole section... Anyway.). I also found out that the calculator that comes with Windows can become a scientific calculator. I was rather amazed. Recess was more talking.
Periods 3 and 4 were Ag, and we all went down to the sheep yards to do some vaccinating and ear tagging. And by ear tagging, I mean piercing the sheep's ear and putting a tag there. I mean, there's a solid reason (they have to keep track of them, disease and what not), but I couldn't do it. However, I went into the mentality of 'I could at least vaccinate the lambs,' but after I actually heard the ear tagging, I lost all hope of doing it. So for the two periods, I played Solitaire on my iPod and listened to Billy Joel. They were very bludgy periods, and they were good. Lunch was the usual (which is now talking instead of cards. I mean, I still bring them, but we don't play them that much any more. Maybe after exams.).
Period 5 was English, in which we all got our speeches and short stories back (the ones we did for the Trial School Certificate). I actually did pretty well, getting 28/30 combined for the section, which gives me hope for the School Certificate, and the Yearly (I hope I did well, to make up for the Half-Yearly. Damn that exam.). I also read a lot of other people's stories, and they were all really different. And a lot of them, I think, were better than mine, disregarding the fact that a lot of them got the same mark as me. Exam marking is fickle like that. It was then Period 6, which was History. In it, we got a lot of our exams back (Are you seeing a pattern here? Then again, considering it's the Friday before the School Certificate, we probably need them.). I got my History mark, which was 88% (not bad), and a bit of my Geography mark, but only a bit. When I got home, I blogged, although not enough, of course. So here I am.
To comments now, 1 from Mango:
*Mango: Please don't mention late posting. Believe me, I am trying to catch up, but what with studying and a lot of other stuff that keeps cropping up at the last moment, I'm struggling. Sorry, but that is what's happening, I'm afraid.
Now, you see, I would usually put here some complaint about the post. I can't even do that now, though, without being repetitively repetitive, because I put it in the comment reply. So I want to do a little reflection here, on what has happened over the past two days. I think I have taken a step up socially, and I think that if I were to ask someone again, I would be better capable of doing it. And that is good, regardless of what she said. Will I ask anyone else? Probably not, but you never can rule it out.
I am glad that I did ask,

The Asking
This is neither a play on words, nor a reference to anything, nor even an alliterative title. Something big just happened today; but it's something I did myself. It'll make much more sense when I explain what happens. Which is early on in the day, so it's the next paragraph. Anyway. Without further ado (and I'm trying to go quickly, as late posting is getting worse), let's have a look at my day, which I can say was probably a big step in my life.
Before school, I drew up my confidence to do something I've never done, nor ever really considered doing before I decided to do it yesterday: I asked a girl to the formal. I'm not going to say who it is on a public blog until it's all resolved (though I will say it when she answers, which I know due to the post being late to be tomorrow. Ooh, time travel powers!), but she said she'd get back to me. Period 1 was Geography, and we did some study for the School Certificate next week (damn, it's next week. It's closer than I thought.). We also got some marks back, for the multiple choice for Geo. Period 2 was Science, in which we looked at more depth into evolution, and we looked at different examples (you see, we can see evolution in some cases. Just not that many. One example is the peppered moth; Wikipedia article included for people who don't know what I'm talking about.) and how Darwin saw evolution, by which I mean natural selection (he didn't know about genes, of course). Recess was talking.
Period 3 was Agriculture, and we went out to the farm to have a look at the potatoes that we planted. And there were weeds everywhere. They were growing in between the beds, in the beds between the plants, in between the plots; it can certainly be said that the weeds thrived. Our soil was fairly bad, so it supported less weeds. Paradoxically, our potato plants were (arguably) a little better off for being in worse soil. But there were weeds, so we all spent the period trying to pull them out. It's a lot of work. Not hard, but a lot of it. I also talked to Ebony in the midst of all of it, about what I did in the morning (you know, about asking someone to the formal), as I trust her and it's good to hear it from a different perspective (as opposed to, say, Cam's. It's not that he's got bad advice, but there are a lot of different perspectives.). Period 4 was PE, and we watched Youtube again. This one was looking at Aboriginal health care, and so on. We also looked through those booklets. PE has become a bit of a bludge. Lunch was talking.
Period 5 was Maths, and we did stuff about probability trees. It's like the pulling out weeds that we did in Period 3: It wasn't hard. It was just repetitive work. The same basic thing over and over. It wasn't too interesting. I also had Justin and Karen guessing who I asked, and I barely said a thing (next post, next post...). Period 6 was Drama, and we had a hilarious improv bit, where a lot of people were called out to do some spontaneous comedy. A lot of people did a lot of funny things (I was going pun after pun in some cases), but at one point, Ebony walked out after refusing to do something and arguing with Kolodziej. It was fairly unexpected. We also did a 'Jerry Springer' bit, with Rutherford as Jerry and Tansy and Lucy going at it as the people on the bit. It was really good. To say they make a great comedic duo on the stage would be an understatement; they do in real life too. Constantly. I love doing Drama. And when the bell went, I went home, and I did some blogging. But obviously not enough by a wide margin, so here I am.
And that was my day. Tomorrow, a lot of the questions that have been left unanswered will go answered (who did I ask? What did she say? How will I react either way?), so stay tuned (I can't really say that for an internet site, but whatever. Keep reading, then.). I'll also see how posting goes for lateness. No promises though.
I still can't believe I asked somebody,

Assignments and Assemblies
The PE assignment, specifically, and the SRC induction and the Year 12 Farewell for assemblies. I actually fairly like this title, because rather than starting with the same letter, they have the same beginning syllable (which is, um... ass.). Anyway. The whole day was pretty much a bludge, as I did essentially no work. Not counting the assignment.
Periods 1 and 2 were the Year 12 farewell. As usual, it involved several performances, such as the piano player (Hurlstone, remember?), the standard band group (doing a non-standard song; a genre change of 'Toxic' by Britney Spears to heavy rock. Or some sort of rock, in any case.), and in one twist, a group of dancers, which spontaneously changed from dancing to Indian music (could have been Pakistani or Bangladeshi; I'm no expert in this type of thing) to the dance from 'Thriller,' which was pretty good, tell you truth. They also did the standard look back on all their times in Years 7 to 12, and all the humorous things that happened. The whole thing took 2 and a half hours, which by the end meant that most people were just sitting around waiting for it to end so that we could eat. It did finish eventually. Recess was cards.
We skipped Period 3, because the Year 12 Farewell went overtime. We went straight into Period 4. That was actually yet another assembly, which, as I mentioned before, was the SRC induction. It was fairly boring, although it was interspersed with jokes, like Shane getting everybody to stand up (it was funny, trust me), and me responding under my breath to Shane saying "Welcome, parents, students and staff" (or something like that), to saying 'Sup,' which made Kevin crack up. Lunch was more cards, as well as me buying an iceblock with $5 that I had with me for some reason (it was only 50c, so I had $4.50).
Periods 5 and 6 were supposed to be PE. Instead, due to the movie arvo of which I didn't buy tickets, we were given the opportunity to go to separate classes. I went to John's. Period 5 in John's class was Science, where I played 'Hangman,' answered riddles, and wrote the Periodic Table on the blackboard for no apparent reason (people who haven't seen me do it before are usually fairly amazed. Those who have seen me do it are kinds used to it by now.). Period 6 was Geography, in which we went down to the Hall to get Carter, who was supposed to be teaching. In the actual class, we watched 'Fawlty Towers,' as I'd brought it intending to play it in Period 3, which was cancelled. We watched 'Communication Problems,' one of the best episodes which everybody in the class loved, even Carter (that may be a bit of an overstatement, considering there were 5 people in the class, including Carter and me). After the episode finished, we played 13. And when I got home, I launched pretty much straight into my PE assignment, which I finished at about 8. And for the rest of the night, I blogged, but not enough.
And that was my day. Sorry for the late post; you may see many more. I'm going to Canberra for the weekend, and whether or not I'll have internet still remains to be decided. So there may be a time when I won't be posting, though I will be writing everything down, and when I get back to Sydney, I can put it all up. Just a heads up.

Seventh Kup: Orange
That's right; I have finally got my orange belt! And yes, my title may seem strange at first, but we martial artists from hapkido call orange belt seventh kup. So I've decided to call any belt promotion that from now on. Anyway. Without further ado, to my day.
Role Call was reading, of course. Period 1 was Maths, in which we did some work from a sheet. You know, the type of work which isn't so hard that you just look at it and go, 'Enough of this!', but isn't so easy that you do it in 5 minutes, then mess around for the rest of the period. No, it was just work. It kept me working, though, and I was able to remember stuff that I'd forgotten. So, congrats maths staff, your plan worked. Period 2 was Drama, where we tried to watch 'Thank God You're Here,' brought in by Alice. However, for some reason it wasn't working because the geographical location was off (is it so hard to make DVDs work anywhere? Or, failing that, make the computer realise it's in Australia and not Western Europe? Or am I missing something?). So we tried my 'Fawlty Towers' disc, which worked even though they were both Australian. Does that make sense? No. Do I care? No, because we got to watch 'The Germans,' one of the funniest, if not the funniest episode of 'Fawlty Towers' ever made. Recess was cards.
Period 3 was Commerce, in which Kearney was away. So we didn't hand our assignments in. Bloody hell, that's annoying. However, considering I didn't stay up late to finish it (as some people did; they were annoyed, to say the least.), it's OK. Just means I'll have to hand it in tomorrow. In the actual period, I pretty much read for the whole lesson. We really didn't do much. Lunch was cards with John, Kevin and Victor, as Ebony was away.
It was then School Sport, which was a very big bludge. We started off playing cards, then changed to flicking rubber bands around (this is still in the Main Quad, because they were playing cricket there). I can now shoot rubber bands with my hands, which is somewhat of a feat (well, not really. Anyway.). We then somehow started throwing sticks up in trees to try to get them caught amongst the branches. I don't exactly know how. Victor, Kevin and John all got one stuck up there on their first try, it took me about 20 goes. Oy. We then went to the music rooms, after Cam had gotten back, and messed around on the keyboards. And when I got home, I did some assignment, and at around 7, we left for hapkido.
OK, the title sorta gave away the drama of this. But I'll persevere just the same as if it didn't. I got to hapkido, and I stretched, as I do. Shirisha was there, so we talked to her, and so on. In the class itself, we did quite a few things, including something that we haven't done for a while: rolling. I wasn't bad, though, but I might need some more practice to catch up. After the class, while we were sitting in our circle, Grandmaster Geoff called my name up, and he gave me my orange belt. Me, I couldn't stop smiling. When all that was done, I got a photo, and then I got home, where I blogged.
Comment replying time, one from Mango:
*Mango: Let's see... 'writing a comment telling you that I...' Que? I've tried reading that several times; please, please make that easier to read. The first sentence takes up half of the comment.
And that was my day. Damn, I'm still trying not to smile about getting my orange belt; it's not working. I mean, that took me almost 6 months to get that belt, I think I have a right to be completely and utterly pleased with myself, don't you think? Anyway. Sorry for the late-ish post; blame the PE assignment. And society.
Orange down; next stop, yellow,

Another One In the Dust
OK, there was a dust storm in Sydney today; I'll get to that, most likely in the first real paragraph. But, you know, I had a most favourable opportunity to quote Queen (what other songs have 'dust' in them?), and I did. You know how I love Queen, and if you don't, you really should. Anyway. Let's have a look at my day, which was just downright bizarre in some cases.
I woke up at 6, as I do, and I looked out of the window, you know, just glancing. The whole of the outside was a dark orange colour, almost red. It seemed like the windows were tinted; it was freaky. It was as if the house had been teleported to Mars. Wikipedia already has an article on it (I mean, wow, that was quick), but it also has a picture. The outside of my house looked something like this (I didn't take this picture, mind you. But the whole of Sydney looked like this, so, yeah.). It started to clear after a while, after powerful winds swept the dust cloud away, gradually but surely.
When I got to school, most of the dust cloud had gone, but there was still dust on almost everything. Periods 1 and 2 were PE, in which Wilson said that, due to health problems caused by the dust, we couldn't go outside. So what we did for the two periods was go into the dance studio and look for magazine cutouts in Men's Health and those types of magazines for our PE scrapbook (which is due Friday week. Goddamn!). However, as I'm doing road safety, and that was in none of the magazines (I didn't really expect it to be), I just read the mags, read some of the book I brought, and worked out the plot for the book I'm trying to write. I haven't looked at it in a while, and I thought that I might as well get back to it.
Recess was 31, since John and Andy weren't here. Period 3 was Commerce, in which we went to the computer rooms to do some more of our assignment. I really hope I finish soon; what with the Geo assignment and the PE assignment. Oh, I can't wait for the holidays. But, yeah, pretty much the entire period was a bludge. Most computer periods are. Lunch was 13 with me, Kevin and Victor, since Ebony was with her friends.
Next was School Sport, or rather it would be if not for that dust storm this morning. Like in PE, it was still a health hazard (it apparently was to be for the whole day). So what we did was go to one of the Ag rooms and watch 'Groundhog Day.' So what we did was go to one of the Ag rooms and watch 'Groundhog Day.' (OK, that was intentional. If you have watched the movie, you will find that funny. If not, you will most likely be completely confused. Watch it.). While we watched the movie, we also played cards. After Sport (in name only), I got home, and did some assignment. At around 7, we left for hapkido.
Shirisha was there (she wasn't there on Monday, apparently), but Grandmaster Geoff wasn't. I'm not entirely sure why, but I suspect he'll tell us so next Monday, if he's there. Instead, we had this black belt (I'm not sure of his name, but he's there a bit), who worked us quite a bit. After my class off on Monday, I was still working into it. At the end of the class, while waiting around in meditation, I saw the receptionist bring out an orange belt. My heart rose in anticipation; and sank in disappointment, after it transpired that it belonged to somebody else. Soon, soon I will get it. When I got home, I blogged, but not enough. So here I am.
To comments now, one from Mango.
*Mango: Curse you and your radians! I've known about that calculator function for ages, man, and you take it off me. That just ain't fair! Lol.
And that was my day. Sorry for the later post, although it was a much longer one. I do like the long post, though you may have already known that. I just like to write a lot. Anyway. I'll attempt to get back on schedule soon, though we'll just have to see.

Guess Who's Back
...at school. OK, I'm trying to keep up this good title run. This one may not be as good as the last two, but it's probably better than some of the other ones. Anyway. Let's have a look at what happened on this Tuesday, in which I actually went to school (as evidenced by the title and explanation), and I wasn't even sick once.
Before school, it transpired that Mum had been sick in the night; she'd caught our bug. Though, if it's anything like ours, she'll be better soon. Period 1 was Maths, in which I found out that I missed a period on radians (and after all that time messing around on my calculator using radians... Here's the Wikipedia article for it, just in case.). What we actually did was start a new topic on probabilities, but, of course, nobody was around to get my 'Hitchhiker's Guide' jokes (Infinite Improbability, Heart of Gold; read the books if you have no idea what I'm talking about. They are excellent.). It was a fairly boring period, really. Period 2 was Drama, in which we watched the videos for the ads for all the groups. Kolodziej marked the wrong videos at least three times, by my reckoning; and ours looked pretty good, I think. We had to cut it down, though, by about 30 seconds, which led to it looking a bit rushed, to say the least. Ah well. It still looks pretty good. Recess was cards.
Period 3 was Commerce, in which we went to the computer rooms to do some of the Commerce assignment. The assignment is coming along well, though we'll still need some more time on the computers, of course. After the Geography assignment, of course (thanks for reminding me, me!). In between periods, I stopped by the office just to hand in the note saying why I was away. Period 4 was Science. In that, we had a look at the agar plates. There were mixed successes, with some getting 15 on the good part of the plate, as well as a lot of people who got next to nothing (Ebony actually got more on the sterilised part of the plate than the supposedly bacteria-friendly section. Why is a good question.). We also heard more of the presentations, and got our marks back (I got 4.5 out of 5. As, seemingly, half the class did as well.). Lunch was cards. We also learnt Andy's middle name: 'Phuc.' I don't think it's pronounced like... well, you know, but it's still pretty funny. Like that city in Thailand, Phuket. Anyway.
Period 5 was English, in which we read a short story dealing with the odd one out. This one was about an overweight teenager who is on a camping trip (I think) with friends and she realises that one of her friends is ultra-skinny from bulimia. I mean, skin-painted-on-bones skinny. Yeah. That wasn't actually badly written. Anyway. Period 6 was History, in which we watched a video on Gough Whitlam (did you know his first name is Edward? Neither did I!). Pretty much a bludge really. And so for the rest of the day, I talked on MSN and did some of my Geo assignment. On MSN, I was also told by Leeza that it was confirmed: she was, in fact, coming to Sydney! Ah, good times.
To comments now, 1 from 1 person.
*Mango: Well... yeah. There used to be heaps of people reading (or at least commenting), and now there's not that many. Ah well. That happens.
That was my day. Sorry for the late post, blame society (damn them!). And also this thrown off schedule. Eh, I'll get around to putting posts up on time soon. Until then, late posts will be the norm. I'm sure I've said this before.

Bright Bludgy Days
I am referring, of course, to a Tom Lehrer song called 'Bright College Days.' Because, you know, I couldn't think of anything else. Anyway. I did have a big bludge today, which is a good way to end a week full of working on assignments like there's no bloody tomorrow. So, to my day, because this post is late as it is.
Period 1 was Geography, in which we watched a video (you reckon that our school would start to get some DVDs soon. I mean, there are some DVDs, but videos far outweigh them.). It was on corruption in Africa, though I forget the actual country. I do know that they spoke both Swahili and English there though, and so after checking the Wikipedia page for Swahili, as well as some other Googling, I'm pretty sure it was Kenya. But don't quote me. Period 2 was Science, in which I did my presentation on juvenile diabetes. I used the chalkboard as well as my sheet, and I think it came off pretty well, though a fair bit of it was impromptu. Next was Assembly, in which we talked about the gate incident (but what would the media call it. They couldn't name it after Watergate, as they love to do: Gategate just sounds retarded.). When they mentioned it, it seemed like everybody turned to look at Johnny, and everybody kept saying 'Johnny! Johnny!' Recess was cards.
Period 3 was Ag, in which we started a new topic: farm business management. It's about as exciting as it sounds. And if you think that that sounds exciting, then there is something definitely wrong with you. Period 4 was PE, in which something strange happened. Before class, Wilson got us to fix up our uniforms (like, the top buttons. Ouch.). And it gradually got bigger and bigger, until we got to the end of the class and Wilson was still lecturing us about uniforms. Bloody hell. We didn't do any work, though. Lunch was the usual.
Period 5 was Maths, in which we did yet more trigonometry. It wasn't incredibly difficult, but it wasn't a walk in the park either. There were some problems that were really fascinating, and that carried on to the next period, Drama. In that, I worked a bit on the maths, but it turned to more matters of drama. We did our Oedipus modernisation, and I played a fortune teller (who rhymed), a police officer and a doctor. My favourite was the doctor. I actually did impromptu for most of my lines, but they worked. I thought they were good. Anyway. After my day at school, I went home, and for the rest of the night I pretty much got on my computer, watched the Saints-Dogs game (the Saints were lucky, I think. I wasn't going for them.), and played some Battlefield Heroes.
And that was my day. Sorry about the late post; blame society and weekend procrastination. Also, expect more late posts, though I could pull ahead and get back on schedule. It may not be likely, but it can happen.
Weekend; yes!,

There Will Be Bludge
That, of course, being a reference to the movie, 'There Will Be Blood,' which I have never actually seen, though I am an avid fan of that classic quote by some guy somewhere in the movie: I drink your milkshake! (Allow Youtube to explain. Or at least show you.) Anyway. What I mean is that most of today was a big bludge. So let us adjourn to my day, before this post gets any later.
Period 1 was Science, in which we watched a video on pathogens. Which was extremely old, and very boring. But we didn't do any work, and that's what matters. Period 2 was Computer Maths, which was that most special of Computer Maths lessons: when we are on Geometer's Sketchpad, and we are supposed to muck around on it to prove some point about sine waves. I don't know what it was, or what we were supposed to prove. But it was fun. I also tried to make an ellipse on it, unsuccessfully. Ah well. Then it was Assembly, in which people did some creative arts presentations, for no apparent reason other than they can. Cam played a song, but there were two stand-outs. One guy beatboxed, really well; and another guy did this really complicated version of the robot (the dance). There's really no better way to explain it than: wow.
Recess was 31, since Andy is on an excursion. Periods 3 and 4 were double Ag, in which we went down to the farms to finally plant our potatoes. I spent the majority of the period hoeing the last bits, and carrying hay up and down. I spent quite a while working, and we got most of our work done. I listened to my iPod a fair bit. However, towards the end, it became evident that we were missing two hand trowels. So we stayed behind a whole 10 to 15 minutes; and we didn't even find them. Bloody hell. I then raced back to the classroom, only to find that the door was locked. However, I hit upon an idea, and tried the adjoining room, which was unlocked. I ran through that into the classroom, got my bag, ran back through the other room, and I was free. Lunch was cards.
Period 5 was English, in which we started watching a video (yes, another one). This one is the movie 'Shine,' which seems like a pretty good movie. I went to Wikipedia to check up on a lot of the details later, of course. It was a big bludge, even if we did have to take notes. Period 6 was Geography, in which we went to the computer rooms yet again. The whole Geography assignment is coming together, although it's a lot of work. I will better be able to focus on it as the deadline nears. And it will be coming closer very soon. Oy vey. It's getting annoying. When I got home, I blogged, and I also played Battlefield Heroes with John for a while, while going on Skype. I must have played for hours, improving my kill to death ratio, I'm sure. Around 10, though, I had to go to bed.
And that was my day. Very sorry for the late post and the short post, but I didn't post on Friday, and, well, if you read Saturday's post, then you will understand, for sure. Anyway. Soon I'll get back to schedule.
Thank god for Fridays,

Legacy Day '09
Another day, another title which is fairly easy to write. For you see, today was Legacy Day. Wikipedia doesn't seem to know what it is, so the official website may be found here. Now, with the title out of the way, I can get straight to my day, which was mostly a big bludge. Which was pretty good for a Friday, although it is a late post. Ah well.
Before school, I put on my Legacy Day badge and wristband that I got from Dad. Period 1 was Maths, in which I forgot my textbook. So Mango and I showed me this game, where you start with 31 points, and can take away 1-5 points every turn. The person that takes away the last point loses. However, there was a trick, which I found out: if you go second, you just choose the number that, when added with the one that the first player picked, makes 6. (If you're first, though, you're doomed. Sorry.) Period 2 was Drama, which started off as doing some maths thing I was trying to work out (nerd, remember), but then became a conversation about Cam's PA system in his house and things about how I'm not a computer nerd if I haven't pulled my computer apart yet to get to know things that I can find out by not dismantling my laptop. Hmm. Next was Assembly, in which I discovered something tragic: the badge was gone. It had fallen off my jacket and was now nowhere to be seen. So after Assembly, I went through the Drama room, the Maths room, and the path I took between the two. But it was not to be found. So I played some cards.
Period 3 was Commerce, wherein we went to the computer labs to check the effects of unemployment. We also had a substitute, who, although well-meaning, didn't know what we were doing. So I went to Wikipedia, started off at the page for unemployment, and well, this happened (I love than comic, both specifically and a whole). I also found my badge, while absent-mindedly trawling through my pockets. What presumably happened was that the badge fell off my jacket into the jacket pocket. Quite lucky, there. Period 4 was Science, in which we analysed the experiment with the ticker-timer from yesterday. My value for the acceleration due to gravity: 9.7 m/s². Now that is amazingly close to the actual value, and in fact I was the closest in the class. Robson also told me that Pitt had something to show me in the Science staffroom. However, come lunchtime, after handing in that assignment I was doing, when I went to the Science staffroom, Pitt was nowhere to be found. Turns out he wasn't there. So I played 13 with the guys instead.
Period 5 was English, in which we went through the book we have, 'Runner,' to find evidence that the protagonist, Charlie, was the Odd One Out. Which essentially came down to the fact that things happened to him that didn't happen to other people. You know, like essentially every fiction novel in existence. Yeah. In the last period for the week, we went down to the Hall, where there were 4 veterans from the Korean War, there for commemoration of Legacy Day (it's not really celebrating if it's for the families of those killed in action). 3 classes were there (mine, Eric's and Cameron's; I don't know the actual names for the last two), and we heard their stories from back then. Some people didn't find it too interesting; I did. Call me crazy, but I find those types of things interesting. When I got home, I blogged a bit, and then friends came over. Specifically, Michael and Cleveland (they're both footy friends). They watched EJ play 'God of War,' so I played some Battlefield Heroes. After they left, I did some more blogging, then went to do some more BFH. I also watched the first AFL final: Crows-Bombers, which ended with Essendon thankfully being on the ass end of an ass-kicking, by something like 90 points. But I didn't get to finish the post, so here I am.
And that was my day. The next few days will be somewhat eventful, with my brother's Grand Final on Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday, which makes for longer posts. However, as these may be running into the night, the posts may be late. Or, at least, I'll have an excuse to post late. Both, really.
Friday comes, thank god,

Rest and Randomness
Well, by rest I refer to not doing that much in class, not sleeping rest. And randomness, well, I believe this is self-explanatory. Also, yes, an alliterative title for the umpteenth time this month. They're annoying, they're frustrating, and I don't really care anymore. That much. Anyway. To my day, which was a bit of a mixed bag.
Period 1 was Geography, in which we attempted to complete the cutting and pasting for the 5 sheets from yesterday, as the majority of people (me included) didn't finish it. I got almost all of it done. It's not hard so much as tedious, and that is sometimes very annoying; and this period was no exception. Period 2 was Science, in which we did some revision work on motion, and most importantly, the whole chapter on electricity and the electromagnetic spectrum. Which is somewhat difficult, because I can barely remember that far back. Just means I'll have to do a fair bit of revision before the test, I suppose. But when I did finish it, I got my book out. Which is always good. Recess was 13.
Period 3 was Ag, in which the few groups still to do their presentations (two in all) showed the class. Before they set up, I tried to make a house of cards, but it kept collapsing. And when I finally was getting it working, it was time for the presentations. Ah well. Ebony and Corinne were first, and then the last group for the whole presenting was Rhys and Sophie's. We then did some work on potatoes, as if this whole thing never even happened. Of course. Next was PE, in which we watched a tape of 'What's Good For You,' which dealt with such things as waxing versus shaving, and whether microwaves are safe (they obviously are. And they proved it. So there.). Lunch was weird and more than a little bit random. John was doing stuff for IPT, and his space was free. So for some reason, Kevin, Andy and I sat in different places and pretended to be the people who usually sat there. It's hard to explain properly. And towards the end of Lunch, part of my bag broke. I'm still not entirely sure how, but it wasn't like last time; it's less serious. Still annoying though. Damn my bad luck.
Period 5 was Maths, in which we started a new topic (yes, we started a new topic yesterday as well. Yes, it's retarded. I know.). This one was on trigonometry, and it was a bit of a bludge. Telling us stuff we already know is not particularly fun, or hard work. Period 6 was Drama, in which we just watched the ad that Cam made, after spending a good 20 minutes trying to get it to play. It was really good, apart from one thing: it's 30 seconds too long. And with a 1 and a half minute video, that's a problem. But the ad itself, apart from that, was really funny. We're going to cut out some of the song in the beginning, and unnecessary bits in the middle. Ah well. We didn't do any work, so it was a bit of a bludge. When I got home, I blogged, and later I fixed up some of the album covers for my iPod. But I only got about halfway through this post, so here I am.
And that was my day. I think I'm catching up for my 200th post; I better be. I also hope I get comments for it, but if I don't, that's fine. I mean, I'd prefer them, but... anyway. Expect a post on time, if not for tomorrow, then for Thursday for sure.

Another Day, Another Bludge
Yeah, I know. My titling is severely going downhill. Or at least it is for this post. Anyway. Titles don't particularly matter, I suppose, although I still prefer them to be good. So, as my title says, today was pretty much just a big bludge. Barely any work at all was done. Now, without further ado, to my day.
Period 1 was English, in which we mainly talked about famous people who are or were considered to be Odd Ones Out or Rebels. And when you have a group of people including Mahatma Gandhi, Pauline Hanson, Osama Bin Laden and Charles Darwin, it makes for a very interesting range of opinions, to say the least. We also got onto George W. Bush and what he accomplished (I use the term loosely) as President (Hancock said he was the only President to have caused 16 years worth of damages in 8 years. Which was pretty funny.). Though it's not the most off-topic class I've ever been in (last year in Ag, we got from how much chemicals are, to the defensive capabilities of Switzerland). Period 2 was Maths, in which we did some revision work on quadratic equations. We also messed around on my new calculator, and found some of the new features of it, and discovered some old ones. It's pretty good.
Recess was 13, or at least it was for some of it. Ahem. At around 10:15 am, on the 20th of August, 2009, a treasured member of our group was lost. A passing student spilled drink while dealing, and the cards became sticky, and considered unusable. So we say goodbye to these cards; we bid them farewell. Period 3 was Drama, in which we went back to the farm to do the last part of our advertisement. We didn't really do much, though it was funny to see Oscar attempt to do a side roll and somewhat failing; and Shane filming Oscar's muscles, and his 'pocket' and 'belt area.' I'm sure it was, but it sure didn't look like it. Period 4 was Commerce, in which we went to the annex to watch this video about advertising to children in America and a lot of related stuff, like consumerism in kids. Some of it was pretty eye-opening, and a bit of it was creepy as well.
Lunch was 13, but with Ebony's cards. At this point, I'd like to thank Ebony for helping us out of that little jam; I don't know what we'd do without her (probably not play cards. But, that's not really an option.). Periods 5 and 6 were PE, in which we played a game called Ultimate Frisbee. Although, apparently, it's technically just 'Ultimate' (allow Wikipedia to explain) because frisbee is trademarked; we're supposed to call them flying discs. But we just called them Frisbees. It's easier. We practiced throwing them for a while, and then we played something called Frisbee Golf. Which essentially involved throwing a frisbee towards a flag, getting it near the flag, walking back to the middle, and repeating. Sorta boring, really. When I got home, I did some work, and then I played Battlefield Heroes for a while. Although I couldn't find any decent servers. So I just mucked around on a pre-game one for a while. Ah well. I later blogged, but not enough. So here I am.
To comments now, just one single one.
*Karen: Yes, I am definitely going to the formal. Did Mango really miss me on the list? Put me up then; thanks for adding me.
And that was my day. Friday's post may or may not be shorter, though it will most likely be late. That's what you get with my blog lately; I'll catch up soon. With any luck. Maybe.
My titling is getting worse, and I'm waiting for it to improve,

Yet More Maths
Let's think: On Thursday, there was the 4 hour one; the day after I did the topic test; and today I did the ICAS Maths comp. Hopefully that's it for a while. But, yeah. A lot of maths, or at least it feels like it. I'm also not sure how good the title is. Anyway. My day, apart from Period 1 was mostly a bludge. Well, let's see my Wednesday, shall we?
Before school, I blogged about Tuesday. But not enough. Instead of catching the train to school, however I was driven to school by Jo, for the first time in quite a while. It was actually pretty spot-on timing, because I got to the station stairs at exactly the same time Ebony did. It was sort of freaky. Role Call was getting a note for camp, and then going to the music room for the Maths comp. It went for about an hour (I'm not sure exactly how long it was), and I got all but one question done, but that's because I got caught up doing the last question. I ended up working it out, though it took a long while. Period 2 was English, in which Hancock showed his awesomeness by letting us unwind after the long competition. He showed us a lot of funny stuff from his laptop, including some of Rowan Atkinson Live, and specifically, Fatal Beatings (Youtube link!). Recess was the usual.
Period 3 was Science, in which we graphed the results from yesterday's experiment. Rhys's motion was approximately linear, and Corinne's was a curve (technically it was parabolic. But, yeah. Curvy.), which means she sped up and therefore accelerated. That was seemingly the whole point of the lesson. It seemed slightly pointless, although I did read ahead, and that lesson was in the book. Probably that. Lunch was 13. And then, it was Sport, and like last Wednesday, it was T-ball, as the guy didn't show up for a second time, not that I'm complaining. I did more sport than last time, and I actually did really well with the bat, smashing the ball a bit (though the less said about my pitching, the better). I also caught a ball off Bryan, although he claimed that it was a foul ball (I was directly in front of him.). However, things predictably started to slow down, and the school day ended with me playing variants of 13 with Kevin (4, 5, 6, and so on). When I got home, I finished Tuesday's post, and after that, then it was time for hapkido.
Shay still had assignments, but Shirisha came. So that was good. We were doing pretty heavy work in the beginning (it is not easy holding the weight of a full-grown man, you know!), and I hadn't had enough to drink beforehand, so by the middle, I was utterly stuffed. I also tried doing some right back rolls, and stuffing them up basically every single time. So I stayed behind for around 10 minutes with a black belt, so that he could point out what I was doing wrong. And I think I got it; now it's just a matter of putting into practice. Here's hoping. When I got home, too, I blogged. But not enough.
To comments, two from two people.
*Mango: OK, OK, you got 100%, happy? And I am not an addict; I don't game all the time. I do do other things. And don't remind me about assignments.
*Ebony: I said that most of our group was at IPT. You are part of the 'most of our group.' Therefore, I mentioned you, though not personally.
And that was my day. Sorry about the such late post, blame hapkido. And society. Yeah, society'll do. Blame them. Thursday's post will hopefully not be late, although no promises, of course. I can't promise what I may not deliver.
Enough comps already!,

Bludges and Braces
My titling remains on its plateau of uncreativity. Well, I suppose it's not the title, but rather the post. Still, annoyance. I'll work on improving them. But, yeah, there was bludging today, and I went to the orthodontist for my braces. So, to my day.
Before school, I listened to Hamish & Andy on my iPod, as I haven't done that for a while. They are pretty funny. Period 1 was Science, in which we did an experiment on velocity. What we did is that we went to the main quad, and I measured out 50 m using the trundle wheel (I love using that thing, and I'm not entirely sure why.). We then got Rhys to walk the course, with people recording times every 10 metres, so we can get a rough estimate of how fast he was walking. Then, the same with Corinne, except she ran it. Next period we'll take the times and graph them. Period 2 was Computer Maths, in which we got theorems for circle geometry from Years 11 and 12, and then we were supposed to try to prove them on Geometer's Sketchpad. We also got the results of the Maths test that I did on Friday back. I got 37/40. I made some silly mistakes, but I'm happy with my mark. Recess was 13. I was very annoyed, with me getting a triple two and losing. Goddamn.
Periods 3 and 4 were Ag, and for most of the first period, we went back down to the farm to finish up preparing the soil for our potatoes. However, only a few of us were needed to do it, so I spent the time playing Solitaire and listening to music from my iPod. It's always fun. When we got back to the class, we did a few presentations, with Courtney and Andrew giving the class some goat cheese (it tasted just like regular cheese, except it had a slight tang about it. Slightly salty and sour. And I could swear I smelt goat, but nobody else could.), and Allie's was a video instead of a Powerpoint. On the goats that were back at her farm. And hers was good. I mean, really good. Lunch was talking and cards.
Period 5 was English, in which we talked about the new topic that we started, which is 'Odd One Out,' and how we have areas of study in Years 11 and 12. I got a little too enthusiastic, though, when Hancock asked if anyone had seen 'Life of Brian,' and I, very loudly, called out 'Yes!' I didn't mean too, of course, but it happened. He was mentioning the scene where Brian calls out 'You're all individuals!' And it was hilarious, of course. Just watch it: it's one of the funniest movies of all time, in my opinion. Maybe even the funniest. We also got our speech marks back. I got 19/20, which is more than I expected. How fickle English marks are. Period 6 was History, in which we got an assignment. That's two in two days; and just when I thought I was getting over them. Bugger. Luckily, it doesn't seem that hard. And when I got home, we got something to eat, and then we went straight back out again, as I had to go the orthodontist. They were installing the metal part (I'm not sure what it's called, but it's the metal thing that goes right on your tooth, not the wire.) on a tooth that was still coming through, as well as the general tune-up. When I got home, I listened to music and played some BFH. Only a bit though. And then I blogged, though evidently not enough. So here I am.
To comments now, just the one.
*Ebony: Huh? Wah? Oh. Right. Yes, I did miss comments, and so I missed your comments too. And yes, first, though I see that you didn't mention your status as an aeroplane. Ah well.
And that was my day. Yes, it was a late post, I completely misjudged how much time I had on Tuesday night, and so posted late. That happens, though. Wednesday's post will hopefully not be late, though I'm not promising anything.

Plays and Presentations
Yeah, it's a title with alliteration. I really, really can't be bothered to think at this point. I've been working practically non-stop (not counting dinner) for 3 or 4 hours now, on my Ag potato presentation. Thing is, I barely did any work at school. It's just a lot of work at home. Not hard, but bloody repetitive. Find pictures, put them on the presentation, make it look good, so on so forth. And yes, it's a late post, blame the Ag assignment and society.
Period 1 was Maths, which was doing yet more revision work. Which somehow turned into Faulds talking to me about iPhone apps after I showed him this thing I'd worked out that I had lying around in my bag (because that's what I do when I get bored in A1. I mess around with algebra and geometry and whatever really catches my interest. Nerd!). Period 2 was Drama, in which we went to a different room to watch this video on Greek dramas, which is our new topic. But we're still doing advertisements. But only for the assignment, which I don't think counts towards anything. Yeah. The video itself (not a DVD) was OK, although they could have picked something newer. Say, not 15 years old. Anyway. The whole class was a bludge, really. Recess was 13.
Period 3 was Commerce, in which we went to the computer rooms to do a sample tax return. There were 8 computers that got the internet. Out of about 30. That seems to keep happening. Some computers couldn't be turned on, some could be turned on but couldn't be accessed. I was one of the lucky ones who got the net, and I spent most of the period messing around on the tax return sheet. That is one complicated procedure; I hope it gets simpler when you start to work and understand some of the terms. But I doubt it. Period 4 was Science, which was a room change for a third time, again to the computer labs, to do work on biotechnology and stem cell research. It looks pretty promising, apart from the religious objections. Which I sort of understand, but don't agree with.
Lunch was the usual. Periods 5 and 6 were this play about Macbeth that we paid for a few months back. What happened was that the actors from Bell Shakespeare who went around schools and showed people plays showed us this version of Macbeth. What they did differently is that they only acted the biggest scenes in the play, and then showed us what could be done different, and all the educational value, with a lot of humour thrown in (unintentionally too: They called the character Macbeth 'Macca.' So we naturally took the piss put of Kevin.). It was great, except the actors seemed more like characters. A play within a play sort of. Anyway. That only went up until 2:15 though, and as the teachers had nothing planned, they put us in the main quad and told us to just do something. So Kevin, John, Eric and I just played cards for 45 minutes or so. When I got home, I had afternoon tea, and then went in to do my assignment. I put in a good solid 3 hours work, 5 hours on and off (dinner got in the way). I didn't get it done, but I did get an awful lot done. But not enough at all, so here I am, 24 hours late blogging. I'll catch up soon, I swear.
Comments await my responses, 3 from 3 people.
*AC: AC is back? Returned? No, apparently. I'm sort of confused now. Why do you want to conceal your identity? This just raises more questions than answers. Anyway, before I get crushed by my own ponderings. Thanks for commenting, and it's nice to have a reader.
*Karen: Lol, XX and XY. I love science jokes. And I know we're 13 obsessed, we just love to play. And what's wrong with Commerce? (I don't envy your Japanese minor.). IPT does seem boring, doesn't it? Hmm.
*Ebony: I know I sucked as timekeeper, you don't have to state the obvious. Good luck on your speech; It's best to get it out of the way. That History thing was a bit weird, but she's probably just got a headache or something. Teachers have bad days too. Especially Kolodziej. And speaking of aeroplanes... Where is the anonymous aeroplane?
And that was my day. I'm really sorry for the late post, but I've done about 8 hours of work on my Ag assignment in two days, and that's mostly my free time taken up. Won't I be glad when I have more free time. Oh, how I look forward to that.

Left Speechless
No, not literally, I mean my speech is finished! I am left with no speech to complete for it has been completed. And so on and so forth. In short, this is a play on words and can either be considered very bad or very good. It really depends on your point of view. Anyway. I did my speech today, and now it is over and done with. It is done. I am also back to good titles, thank god. Let's hope it lasts.
Before school, I made my speech cards, and actually put some effort into them (yesterday I just used paper, today I put them on cardboard). Period 1 was Science, in which we did some work on amino acids and codons (it sounds a lot less interesting than it was). I could go in depth, but I won't. Let's just say that it was very interesting, as all science should be and generally is. Period 2 was History, even though it was supposed to be Geography. I'm not entirely sure why Johnson changed it, but she did. So instead of doing the questions or summarising (I couldn't, I brought the wrong book), I read the chapter. Twice. Which helps a lot. We also got told our marks from the Geo comp. And I don't mind telling you that mine were bloody great, with 46/50 (that may seem like bragging. But there is a line between being proud and being cocky, and I think that comes under proud.).
Recess was the usual. Period 3 was English, and it was time for speeches: the last period before we go back to classes for them. John was in the class Kevin and I were in, so that made things all the better. All of us did our speeches, but I went first. I volunteered, as I wanted to get it over and done with and get the butterflies out of my stomach (to use a tired phrase which I don't especially like but which is necessary to convey my point of view). My whole speech ran for 3 minutes and 55 seconds, which is pretty good. It's 13 seconds less than I timed it, but still. I also tripped over the word 'hypocrisy', but then I always do (unfortunately. That mispronunciation probably cost me a mark or two.). Next was Maths, which was doing some revision work. We were in another room, so I wasn't next to Mango, so Jenny (I think that's her name) and I shared the teacher's textbook.
Lunch was 13, as usual. Period 5 was Drama, in which we went to the computer rooms to look at the Advertising Standards Bureau. But, like yesterday, the internet didn't work, so I spent the period messing around on Geometer's Sketchpad and talking to Cam while trying to work out what the hell was wrong with the internet (answer: it can only go to .edu.au sites. Why is a very good question.). I couldn't really do much else. Last was Commerce, in which we filled out a mock tax return. Hey, guess what? Those sheets are hard! I was looking at one side, and I thought 'Well, this doesn't look so bad,' and then I found it was double-sided. Then I got to the second sheet (also double-sided), and it was talking about how there are yet more sheets. Let's just say it's no wonder people hire people to do their taxes for them; I'm in Hurlstone and I had trouble understanding them. When I got home, I decided to relax, after blogging. And one of the best ways to relax in my book (besides books, of course) is to get on Battlefield Heroes and go shoot up Royals. I renewed my rocket launcher (as it had run out of time), and then got a second machine-gun, as I never use my shotgun. It was mid-range, and it works really well. Though maybe only because I can just keep shooting with both machine-guns and so never run out of ammo. But I didn't get to blog all the way, so here I am.
And that was my Thursday. Friday might be a longer post, and probably late. It was a pretty good Friday, because... well, I'll get to that when I get to the post. Well, I'm getting ahead of myself. Something else I also have to mention: this post's title. It's finally a good one (I may have already mentioned this. Meh.). I wonder if this streak will continue (yes, I referred to one thing as a streak). Here's hoping.
