Mufti and Movies

This is my third alliterative title in as many days. My name is AB, alliterator of alliterators! Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair (I really couldn't resist. I love that poem. Or, at least, that part of it.). I believe this title is rather straight-forward, so I am not going to bother explaining it. Instead, I'll just skip straight to my day.

Today was a mufti day, ladies and gentlemen, and one that was closer to the school than most. Zoe Diamond is going to Perth to do some big swimming thing (I think it's either a nation or a world thing; either way it's pretty massive.), and we were helping fund her way there, which I think is pretty good. So for the beginning we had Role Call, wherein I played DS, and it was then Assembly, where I continued (OK, I'm a little addicted to that thing. It's fun, though, and that's what matters.). Period 1 was Ag, and the people who were here (which, in our class, numbered not that many), had to clean out the horticulture shed, which basically involved hauling large, heavy sacks from one end of the school down to the other end, to put it in a large garbage bin. We used wheelbarrows, and we got the job done quickly, although Hewie, Alan and I had to clean up a mess we made when a garbage bag split open. Oy vey. Period 2 was Geography, and we watched yet more 'Man vs Wild.' I played my DS. It doesn't really matter (I'm not being a nihilist here, I'm just saying schoolwork is over and done with.). Recess was talking.

Period 3 was Maths, and we were showed something called 'GeoGebra' (as in, geometry and algebra. Nobody said mathematicians were brilliant at creating names. That's not to say the things themselves aren't great, but the names are sometimes hard to come by.). It's a basically free version of 'Geometer's Sketchpad,' and I might get it later. It seems OK. Period 4 was Science, and in this, Robson showed us an experiment we were to do, and which we did (I know that sounds a litte strange. Just, we did an experiment.). What it was was a simple bottle, partially filled with water and attached to a pump. Basically, when you press the pump, you pressurise the bottle, and the air trapped inside. Then, you press a button, and you create a projectile with the bottle, as the water and air is forced out. We were trying it with different volumes of water, and we found something like 300 mL of water was best. It was basically the mass of water versus the velocity it could present. Lunch was the standard.

Period 5 was Commerce, and we went to the library annex to watch a movie on lethal force and the taser. I am personally in favour of it, as I believe it has to be safer than the gun, but I still think more research is needed, just in case (although, being a science nerd, I think more research is always good. So, that's me.). Period 6 was English, and it was our last English period with Hancock, as he has other staffing roles to play, and so Arnault will be taking us for the rest of the term. He's good, I think, but not as good as Hancock. It was also our first real English period without Tiana, who left yesterday, and won't be coming back next year. So, a bit of a nostalgic period, as well as a random one, as we talked about all manner of things (work is overrated.). And when I got home, I blogged a little, and soon we watched a movie, the film version of 'Angels & Demons.' I believe it was good, although it can't really compare with the book. Not many film versions of books really can.

This was my day. I apologise for the lateness; I have recently realised just how far behind I am. So there will indeed be a big rush of posts soon, in an attempt to get back up before the big 300. I, personally, am hoping that I won't need to have an inordinate amount of work, while still getting there. Here's hoping.

I am beginning to really detest the late schedule,
AB

A Great Day For Freedom

It's a Pink Floyd song. I use it in context for the fact that we are finally free of exams. That out of the way? OK. Soon, I shall get back up and I will be able to post earlier. This post, however, this post is late. ...I'm running out of things to say in this first paragraph. You know what, let's just skip to what I actually did in the day, shall we?

Period 1 was Maths, which was rather strange, as no teacher showed up to two classes. So our class went into A2's class (Eric's, Kevin's and Shafi's), and did completely random things. How random? Does Tri putting 'Pokemon Evolution' up on the whiteboard and then drawing pictures of the Geodude evolutionary line count? (The answer is yes.). Eventually, though, their teacher got to class, and we went to a spare room that was open next door, and did even more random things, like pretend to shoot things with a broken chair leg and draw the hangman evolutionary line (as in, every time you get a letter wrong, you add something to the hangman.). And then added puns, such as 'Quit while you're a head' to one with just a head, and 'Need a hand?' to one with only one arm (most of that was me. I love puns.). Faulds did get to the class in time, though, and we got our marks back. I got 74/80, which is pretty good. Mango got a bit less. Only because he ran out of time, though. I originally got 73, but they didn't mark a question correctly. Then, it was Drama, and Kolodziej officially gave out the marks. 3 other people got 40/40 (besides me. I'm sorry, I just enjoy mentioning that.), including Cam. We exchanged a high five at that point, with good cause, I believe. We also did some more of the plays, and prepared for a new one that we will do on Monday. Soon, anyway. At Recess, Cam and I went to the food tech rooms, as Eric and Shafi had made too much beef stroganoff in class. Yes, their minor is cooking. One time, they made chocolate brownies. I had much beef strog. Lots of noodles. I love to eat.

Period 3 was Commerce, and Kearney was away. So we had a sub, who I think was Spies. For the class, I pretty much just read, though I did do some questions from the textbook. I also talked to people about electives, and I came across something rather freaky. Jenny Tran (the one in my Commerce class) has the same electives as me: Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Legal Studies, Advanced English and Maths offline. It was rather strange. Period 4 was Science, and Robson was finally back. In the class, we talked about the difference between mass and weight, and other stuff pertaining to gravity. It was pretty interesting, and I learnt stuff I didn't know. Lunch was talking, as usual.

Period 5 was English, and we got back the multiple choice and short answer questions for the Trial School Certificate. I got 50/60, and I think I did well. There were a few questions that were, let's say, contentious, as most of the class had one answer for a multiple choice (even Lana), and the real answer was something else entirely. It didn't make all that much sense. It was strange. Anyway. I'm sure there will be questions like that in the actual School Certificate, so, might as well get used to it, I suppose. Period 6 was History, which was actually Geography, as we have apparently fell behind. All the classes have. I'm not entirely sure how, considering we're supposed to have the same amount of History and Geography lessons (and, indeed, it is equal in the cycle), but we did. When the bell went, we went to the local shops, where I saw Jessie at the shops. Long story short, she did exactly what she did last time. See this post for details; I've also put it in labels. Anyway. I then went home, and blogged and played some Battlefield Heroes.

Comments now, two from presumably the same person, who I'm going to guess is Shafi:
*Anon: You can be a part, I've got nothing against it. The more the merrier! And your story seems a bit similar to mine. Maybe. I think the comment about 'The Five Greatest Warriors' goes without saying.
*Anon: Sorry Shafi, Lana asked first. You can read it after her though.

And that was my day. I'd apologise about the late post, but I'd be doing it for a while. Just appreciate I'm trying and move on. I'm thinking that when I get back to schedule, I'll do a list. But not until then (so, not for a while, at this rate). Anyway.

Bring on the weekend,
AB

Marks On Monday

In which I got the marks for the Ag presentation, and the Science comp (yes, I know I sort of got the results on Friday, I actually got the marks back today). Yes, there is a titling problem, though I am expecting it to improve soon. And if it doesn't, well, whatever. My blog. Anyway. To my day.

Period 1 was Ag, in which we got the marks back for our Ag presentation (I got 94%, topping the class. Sweet.). We also did some work on potatoes. Because in Ag, you do work on things that seem relatively mundane and in fact are. Like potatoes. Soon we'll be on to things with legs (dun dun dah!). Anyway. Period 2 was a computer lesson for Geography, in which we did a bit of an assignment due on Friday. Of bloody course. If it isn't one thing it's another. Anyway. I actually got a fair bit of work done, and I learnt a lot about the 1960s (their music was kick-ass). Recess was cards, mostly 31 and 13. We're starting to play a bit of both; add a new game to our repertoire.

Period 3 was Maths, in which we did something called the sine rule (Wikipedia can tell you what it is). We did the proof and all, and I tell you what: maths is awesome. I mean, you get all of these complicated diagrams, and you condense it down to something that works for all triangles and that you could teach a Year 7, and that they would get. The word I'm really getting to here is elegant. Science agrees: it is indeed an... Elegant Universe! (ultimate nerdy joke! Explanation for you un-physics nerds. For shame.) Period 4 was Science, in which we learnt of a new graph called a velocity graph. Which is exactly like the last graph, but it measures how fast something's going instead of where it is. It can also go into negatives (ooh! Negative!). Anyway. So for essentially the whole period, we did work on them. I also read a little of my book. Lunch was 13 and 31, as well as messing with Johnny's head by tapping him on the other shoulder (yeah, that worked. He was going nuts about it. Hilarious.).

Period 5 was Commerce, in which we got this sheet about unemployment, and talked about that. It was double-sided, and it was about one and a half pages in total. However, Kearney kept going off onto tangents about how this program is doing this and this program is doing that, and highlighting the relevant passages that we only got through just over a page. Period 6 was English. We had the most random period ever. We started off on a booklet about Odd Ones Out, and we started on transvestites (there were two pages in the booklet about this. Seriously.). Then we got on to transsexuals, via a mishearing by somebody. We heard one or two anecdotes, and there was, how shall we say, some talk on the anatomical changes that one might require when undertaking gender reassignment surgery, such as 'Is that possible?' and Lana's accidental classic: 'What do they do about the boobs?' She did it at the exact wrong time, when everybody was silent. Didn't even mean to say it. Anyway. I then got home, and blogged a bit, as well as practicing my back roll at home. I gotta get it right sometime. And at around 6:50, we left for hapkido.

Shay had homework and Shirisha wasn't there, but that's understandable. Before class, I did some more practice on my back roll. Grandmaster Geoff was back today, and we did a fair amount of work. I learnt a few things: namely, that I could be doing my kicks way better, and second, that I was doing my kiyaps wrong. Although Grandmaster showed me what exactly I was doing wrong, so I was doing it at least better by the end. And when I got home, I blogged, although not enough. So here I am.

This was my day. Expect a much better title tomorrow, or rather, what I think is a good title. Or at least a good reference. Anyway. Yes, it's a late post, expect one on time very soon. I'm not saying Tuesday, but soon. As you can guess, I'm a bit (read: a lot) of a procrastinator.

Goodbye winter,

Rest and Randomness

Well, by rest I refer to not doing that much in class, not sleeping rest. And randomness, well, I believe this is self-explanatory. Also, yes, an alliterative title for the umpteenth time this month. They're annoying, they're frustrating, and I don't really care anymore. That much. Anyway. To my day, which was a bit of a mixed bag.

Period 1 was Geography, in which we attempted to complete the cutting and pasting for the 5 sheets from yesterday, as the majority of people (me included) didn't finish it. I got almost all of it done. It's not hard so much as tedious, and that is sometimes very annoying; and this period was no exception. Period 2 was Science, in which we did some revision work on motion, and most importantly, the whole chapter on electricity and the electromagnetic spectrum. Which is somewhat difficult, because I can barely remember that far back. Just means I'll have to do a fair bit of revision before the test, I suppose. But when I did finish it, I got my book out. Which is always good. Recess was 13.

Period 3 was Ag, in which the few groups still to do their presentations (two in all) showed the class. Before they set up, I tried to make a house of cards, but it kept collapsing. And when I finally was getting it working, it was time for the presentations. Ah well. Ebony and Corinne were first, and then the last group for the whole presenting was Rhys and Sophie's. We then did some work on potatoes, as if this whole thing never even happened. Of course. Next was PE, in which we watched a tape of 'What's Good For You,' which dealt with such things as waxing versus shaving, and whether microwaves are safe (they obviously are. And they proved it. So there.). Lunch was weird and more than a little bit random. John was doing stuff for IPT, and his space was free. So for some reason, Kevin, Andy and I sat in different places and pretended to be the people who usually sat there. It's hard to explain properly. And towards the end of Lunch, part of my bag broke. I'm still not entirely sure how, but it wasn't like last time; it's less serious. Still annoying though. Damn my bad luck.

Period 5 was Maths, in which we started a new topic (yes, we started a new topic yesterday as well. Yes, it's retarded. I know.). This one was on trigonometry, and it was a bit of a bludge. Telling us stuff we already know is not particularly fun, or hard work. Period 6 was Drama, in which we just watched the ad that Cam made, after spending a good 20 minutes trying to get it to play. It was really good, apart from one thing: it's 30 seconds too long. And with a 1 and a half minute video, that's a problem. But the ad itself, apart from that, was really funny. We're going to cut out some of the song in the beginning, and unnecessary bits in the middle. Ah well. We didn't do any work, so it was a bit of a bludge. When I got home, I blogged, and later I fixed up some of the album covers for my iPod. But I only got about halfway through this post, so here I am.

And that was my day. I think I'm catching up for my 200th post; I better be. I also hope I get comments for it, but if I don't, that's fine. I mean, I'd prefer them, but... anyway. Expect a post on time, if not for tomorrow, then for Thursday for sure.

Labelling was harder than usual for this post,

Say Goodbye to Term 2

Say goodbye, my baby! (Quote: 'Say Goodbye to Hollywood' by Billy Joel.) My point being here is that today is the end of term, and the start of the holidays. Rejoice, for the holidays have arrived! And it was a relieving end to the term, as we did minimal work, and just went random for the majority of the day. So, to my Friday.

Period 1 was Maths (I'm going to say the names of the periods, if only for some clarity), and as the majority of the class were here as the majority of the class are nerds, we actually did some work. We did selected questions from the HSC, which were surprisingly easy. My guess is that Faulds picked easy ones for a Year 10 class. But it was the only real work we did all day. Next was Drama, which was a prac, of course. Drama pracs are always, always a bludge (if you define bludge as doing no work; they aren't always good. That spatial awareness class wasn't the best.), and today was no exception. We did a game in which we were given a setting and a quote, and we had to work that quote in somehow. I went in twice. The first time I was a beatboxer in a community swimming pool (this was Cameron's idea, of course), and the second time I was a zombie. Not much talent needed, or in the case of the beatboxer, used. Recess was 13, as well as listening to stuff from John's iPod over his speakers.

Period 3 was Commerce, in which we did a quiz for chocolate. Kearney seems to like doing that at the end of term (he did it last time too). Our team won, so we got a lot of Pods (mmm, chocolate...). Period 4 was supposed to be Science, but as there were something like 8 people from our class here, we got split amongst the other classes. Ebony and I both went to 10I. I knew that Ebony would know what class Victor is in, and campaign for that. And I knew that there were more of our group in the class Victor is in. So I followed Ebony. 10I has Victor, Eric and Kevin in it, so I think I did pretty well. In the class itself, we did some visual brain teasers (eg: 'timing ti ming' was split-second timing) and a test of the longest word we can make out of 'Hurlstone Agricultural' (I won, with 'horticultural'). We also made a lot of paper aeroplanes and flew them across the room. Even the teacher got in on it. In Lunch, we flew some of the paper aeroplanes (breaking one and stranding two on a roof), and then we went to play 13, where we listened to some songs from my iPod (such as 'Any Means Necessary' and 'The Final Countdown'). Victor also played the best hand I have ever seen: A dragon with the 3 of spades. That's incredible.

Period 5 was Geography, in which Carter gave us a sheet about 'ecological sustainability.' So, I, being a smartass, decided to go completely stupid with it, and wrote a short essay about how the squirrels would become evil. One of the lines was, and I quote, 'the squirrels will have to be taken out by laser fire.' That makes a small semblance of sense (try saying that 5 times fast) if you read the whole thing, but really, I'm just being an idiot. Well, why not? Last was Ag, in which we went to put the goats back into their enclosure, as some of them had escaped, and 2 had even gone under one of the demountable classrooms. We could see them through the wire fence, eating weeds like it was perfectly normal. We also packed up the tables and chairs, and so on. Then, at 2:00, the bell went, and I got picked up by my Dad. At home, we tidied a bit, and I also watched the footy on TV. But I didn't get to blog, so here I am.

To comments now, 3 from probably 3 people.
*Ebony: It is intriguing. It was indeed funny to trick Rawson. And there is indeed something wrong with those averages. Of course, you're first; you're always first. I indeed wish I got lucky. Must I explain this?
*Anon: Be a sheep!
*Anon: Probably-Shafi, congratulations. I could be doing a lot better.

And that was my Friday, my super-fantastic, far-out and unreal Friday (to quote Johnson). I will enjoy the holidays, and I hope most people will. It's gonna be great.

Freedom at last!,

Thank God For Fridays

Not Thank God It's Friday, but Thank God For Fridays. Also I couldn't think of a better title. And I better post quickly, it's almost time for my next post. Weekend procrastination, people. That and projects. That and AFL. That and Conway's Game of Life. And so on and so forth.

Period 1 (yeah, I'm getting there quickly) was Geography, which was, come to think of, doing bugger all. A complete and utter bludge. I love the periods of complete and utter bludginess. And no doubt spellcheck is going to 'BLUDGINESS ISN'T A WORD! NEITHER IS BLUDGE!' To which I say: shut up spell check. I feel like randomness today. Next was Science, which was just writing some stuff on waves. It ended on awesomeness though, with Robson showing how electricity creates radio waves; using an actual radio. We also had to stand back because it was producing X-rays as well. My nerdy sense is tingling! It's this type of thing that makes me want to be a physicist; the fact that this can do that or produce that or imply that, and showing exactly how it happens and how we can harness it... That is why I like Science. But, I'm way off topic.

Assembly was mostly talking about the Hurlstone farm (save it by doing the walkathon... even if it's in Lunch time) and the social (which I'm going to). That last one had the best promo video ever, and to top it off I found it on Youtube. Enjoy. Recess was the usual. Period 3 was Ag, which for some reason involved me thinking of rapper names for myself. The best I came up with were MC Squared and Cold Fusion. But on further investigation, MC Squared had been taken (goddamn it). So I am now Cold Fusion (yo, this is Cold Fusion, kickin' it old school), and not MC AB as John would like people to think. In short, I want to be this guy. Anyway. Next was PE, which was writing all about stress. What stresses me out most: lack of time. Damn that! I also almost fell out of my chair trying to see something on the board while Wilson was in the way. Rest assured everyone who saw it (Courtney, Ebony, the whole row behind me) laughed, and many (Corinne I know for sure) wished they'd seen it. Funny for others... and I suppose for me. I enjoy a good laugh.

Lunch was the usual, again. Period 5 was Maths, which started off doing no work and quickly degenerated into showing Mango Conway's Game of Life, which surprisingly he enjoyed. I actually did all the steps by hand, which is much, much slower than the computerised version. Still nerdy fun, mind you, but slower. Last was Drama, in which we got stuff done for our assignment. It involved a lot of arguments, but we actually got somewhere. I also turned out to be the robber, so my guess is that I'll have something like 4 lines. So I can't really stuff it up. Hopefully. My Drama journal still needs to get done though. I hate this journal. 4-5 pages is horrifying for 4 periods of work. Note to Kolodziej: Stop. This. Journal. NOW. When I got home, I did a bit of my assessment, played some DS, and ended up watching the Blues-Saints game. We almost won. Almost. But considering Fevola only got two goals, Judd went off with a broken nose in the fourth quarter, Thornton was out, and the Saints are on top of the ladder, I think we did really well to only lose by 9 points. Hell, we almost won. That's great in my book, considering the teams involved. But I didn't get to post, so here I am, posting very, very late.

Comments: one from one person. And I was lucky to get that. But it's better than none.
*Anon: Yes, surprisingly, I have finished. I finished around 4 on Saturday. So Sunday will be spent enjoying the free time. Then it's back to work with the Drama project. *sigh*

Well, that was my Friday. Sorry for the late post, things like footy and school got in the way. Explanations to come next post. Which may be another procrastinated post. I blame society.

Damn Drama!,

Just Relaxing

This is what I meant by a relaxing day. Just watching TV on the lounge, with my laptop and DS next to me, occasionally getting up for breakfast. If more days were like this, life would be a whole lot awesomer. But, anyway. To my sweet, sweet Saturday. And yes, it's a late post, and yes, it was entirely my fault. From now on, I start blogging around 4 or 5. This way I get to blog before I go to sleep.

I woke up around 8, and went on my laptop, of course. I started blogging for Friday (like right now I'm blogging for Saturday), and when EJ and Mum left for football around 10:30 (it was a slow few hours), after my Dad did before I got up, I studied for Ag, as well as TV, laptop and DS. I did that basically up until 5, when my brother left for Shay's place, and I put on 3rd Rock from the Sun. Then, for the next 5 hours or so, I went on my laptop, just basically surfing the net and talking to Ebony and Victor on MSN. I also played DS, and watched TV. It was a repetitive, fun day.

And because I just summed up 15 hours in something just over 100 words, it's time for random lists. Hooray!

Books, movies and TV shows that I want to get to soon:
*'The Three Musketeers' by Alexandre Dumas: I have it, it's in my bookcase, I just have to get around to reading it. I'll probably get to it after the half-yearlies. I haven't had much time to read at all since the half-yearlies began.
*'Flatland' by Edwin Abbott: It's been mentioned so many times in Brian Greene books and Circle Versus Square (it's a webcomic) that I have to read it.
*'Seven Pounds' with Will Smith: It looks like a great movie, and I really want to watch it. I will rent it as soon as I have the chance or remember to.
*'Monty Python's Flying Circus': I've seen two episodes of it, a skit or two on Youtube and two movies. But there's still a whole world of Monty Python to explore. I want to watch it as soon as I can. I want the DVD.

My best hands in 13, with links to their respective posts and in order:
*3 to King, a 6 and a 2: I had that in the last week of school, last year. It was the 3 of spades as well. It was awesome (I think I won).
*Four 2s, 6 to King and a Queen: I definitely won that one. I owned that hand.
*Double 3, double 8, double Jack, triple 5, triple 7, 10: But this one I owned better. I played all cards in one go. Double 3, everybody passed. I was hoping someone would play a double 2, so I could double bomb it. But it was my free, so I double bombed. Then I finished on a 10. All my cards, gone in one go. Best hand ever.

To comments now, 2 from the usual 2 people. Hooray for you two!
*Victor: Only people who have braces are my 'shiny metal brothers,' except of course, girls, who would be my 'shiny metal sisters.' If someone had braces, they are my 'rusty metal brothers/sisters.' (I didn't make that up.) I think Shafi said Firstings first, but I'm not sure.
*Ebony: Don't stop talking, I enjoy your humour (and I'm sure it stops the voices). Kolodziej just fails. Let's just hope he doesn't fail us. And don't stop commenting, please. Nobody likes no commenting. It's a rule, we all comment on each other's blogs. And 42 is a multiple of 3. Mathematically, it's 14 times better.

Well, I'll sum up now. I should really stop posting so late. Again, I will really try not to do it anymore. I will try.

Another day, another late post,
AB

Wednesdays For The Win

I love Wednesdays; they're the best school days of the week (barring Fridays, of course.). There's not much schoolwork actually on, you can play more cards at Recess, and so on and so forth. And today was an especially good day, even with my seemingly constant barrage of retardedness (Toiche. See? Tocuhe. Tocuhe. Touche. Hooray, finally!).

On the train ride to school, I listened to some songs from 2 years back on my iPod, because I realised I haven't listened to them in ages. I also got 'Happy Ending' by Mika stuck in my head (I can sing the entire chorus now, though I can guess most people don't want me to.). At school, I talked to Ebony and Victor, and then Eric came over. Ebony then told me that we only had Periods 1 and 2, because of NAPLAN. I didn't know it; didn't even suspect it. That's my brain for you. Role Call was dropping off some books, and reading a bit of 'The Elegant Universe,' because I also haven't read that in a while. Then it was Science, with Mahfouz instead of Robson (I know, I know.). That was doing some worksheets, but all in all it was a pretty bludgy period. 40 minutes of work, followed by 40 minutes of reading. Sweet. Then it was Recess, which was 13 (how do I lose with a 2 in my hand?) with John, Andy, Kevin and Eric, as well as talking on and off with Victor and Ebony, who now seem to be a couple in everything but name (yes, I said it.). I have become the hanger-on to their couple, the guy who hangs around with them. It's hard to explain. There were also 16 people at our table today (yes, I counted. Twice.). It was cool.

Period 2 was Geo, which was finishing Geo worksheets from yesterday, and doing a bit on my book and mucking around with my calculator, like making AB = 42, and trying to work out what 'sinh' means. I am easily amused. Lunch was a pretty random thing, as it was first 13, then Speed with Andy (losing by 2 cards), and then finally going over to talk to Ebony's table, to talk to Victor and Ebony, Rhoda, and Joannie (did I spell that right. Also notice how I put Victor and Ebony together there. That was intentional.). Then later, Kevin came over, then Rutherford and Patrick and Noha and several other people. I lost track. What we talked about was basically nothing, and at the end we all started touching (I just typed 'tocuhing.' Oy vey.) Victor's hair, for some bizarre reason. Why is a good question. Then it was School Sport, which was moving wood from outside the woodwork rooms to inside them, and then walking the Cross Country course, but in reverse this time. On the way, I talked to Victor and Kevin about my book. I'm not sure if they were interested, but it was good to just talk about it, bounce ideas off people, and work out where I could encounter some problems (example: how does Damarius control 'The Fierce Ones' in Book 2? I know that will not make sense to many people. It made sense to me.). Then, when we finally got back near the building part of the school, Victor ran to the Dance rooms (I couldn't catch up. Of course.), with me attempting to follow close behind. There, we talked to Ebony about nothing, as usual, then when the bell went, I took a detour to the library, to drop books off. Yes, I dropped them off this morning, I know that now. But it had slipped my mind then. Then for a while I talked to Victor and Ebony (it's become a regular thing now), until Victor was picked up, and then while walking to the station I talked to Ebony about such random topics as the voices in our heads (mine quotes chemical symbols, she's actually named hers now), where our names came from, and my past relationship. I don't know how that last one came into it, but anyway. Skip to me getting home, and it's basically straight to the orthdontist.

At the orthodontist, I had to get spacers in, which are small rubber rings that fit between your teeth to move them. It's easier to show than to explain. It took all of a minute, and I got 20 minutes of reading it. So that was pretty OK (I now have to chew gum twice a day for a while. I won't ask why, but the orthodontist told me so. So I will.). When I got home, I did a bit on my assessment (so that's slightly less than a page tomorrow.), and then after dinner (and trying to eat with the spacers in for the first time), it was time for hapkido.

In hapkido today, we had Master Jimmy, who works us pretty hard, but is fair when he does training and such (unlike Madam Tina, who just kicks everybody's ass.). He's a bit unorthodox, but it's more so to concentrate on skills and stretching. Today I learnt that: I need more work on my kicks; my catrolls are good but are done in a bit of a strange style; and I am more flexible than I was but still not that flexible. Ah well. Practice makes perfect. Then when I got home, I went into my blog, and have been posting non-stop for over half an hour so far. I love to blog.

To comments now, 3 from 2 people. Let's get to it.
*Ebony: I seriously only mentioned two? Goddamn. I forgot to do it, but not what it was. It was that Hancock called Andrew gay (I think. I only heard a bit.). My bloody memory. And I am, admittedly, getting used to 'Victor Gray' (though I still think there's a better name out there.). And, yes, I know, I missed Shane's. I get it. I sorta miss AC as well, I hope they come back.
*Rosa: A lot of cameras, yeah, I can't wait to see them on Youtube. I hope he lets us organise as well.
*Ebony: OK; Yes, you were first, third, and longest. Perhaps awesomest.

OK, I really have to finish up now. Thursday will be full of work, and Friday will be relaxing, what with the disco and all. I can't wait. Maybe I'll get more of my book done tomorrow; I doubt it though. Ah well.

A long post for a long day (that wasn't even intentional),

Too Long a Day

It was a long day today, full of randomness, work, no work, luckiness, unluckiness.... you get the picture. Prepare for a post of epic proportions, including one list.

Before school, I talked to Victor and Ebony about random topics. As usual. Period 1 was Ag, which went for an hour (as did Periods 2, 3 and 4. Blame NAPLAN.). We did procedures on foot paring in our book, and I did a bit of work on my book (I'm trying to get some characters going. I'm finding a bit hard to focus, what with half-yearlies coming up, and the bloody Geo assessment, and so on.). Then came Geo, which was just working on some skills for mapping, like topographic mapping and the positions of continents. Simple stuff, really. Recess was 13, with John, Andy, Eric and Kevin.

Period 3 was Maths, which was doing more work on factorisation and expansion and so on. Just revision. That seems to be the theme of schoolwork today; revision. Pretty NTR stuff, really. Next was Science, which was even more revision, as well as work on Ohm's Law. Robson had lost his voice, but he was pretty loud for someone who had. It comes and goes, I think. Lunch was 13 with (get this): John, Andy, Eric, Kevin, Ebony, Victor and me. We played a 'one in, one out' rule (Ebony's idea), which worked pretty well. I didn't get out the whole game. I also got the best hand in my entire life, no exaggeration. I got four 2s, 6 to King, and an extra Queen. The game went something like this: John plays three 3s, I play three 2s. I play 6 to King, my free. I play my Queen, then finish on my two. Best hand ever, hands down (no pun intended).

Then when the bell went for Period 5, the universe decided to balance out my luck, of course. I was sitting on the Science staircase, and when the bell went, I started to Room 10. While going up the stairs, I thought to myself: 'Hang on. Where am I going?' So I went all the way back to Room 30, which was all of 10 steps from where I was originally. But it didn't stop there. When I got there, Miss Fox-Coleman said we were actually at Room 11. Which is right next to the room I was originally going to. Oy vey. This is what I get. Commerce was doing more work on the capital punishment Powerpoint in-class project (Commerce teachers seem to love Powerpoints for in-class projects. or maybe it's just Kearney). That period was 35 minutes. The last 30 minutes was English, which was just people not thinking. Three things that stand out: Tiana's putting her hand up to answer a question. When Hancock called on her, she straightened up, opened her mouth; and said nothing. She'd completely forgotten what she was about to say (at least I don't do that in front of the class). The second thing was Hancock making fun of Ben (as he does, but it's not malicious). Barahona is sitting next to him. Hancock: 'I can see outside through your ears.' Barahona: 'Really?' These are our English lessons: full of randomness and unintentional comedy. When the bell went, and after I got home, I went into my Geo assessment (I've now one page left, and that's Question 3. It seems fairly easy. But still a lot of work.). Once I'd done a bit, I talked on MSN, and ended up making my own 'Dinosaur Comics' comic using a website (basically, in Dinosaur Comics, everything is the same except the text. It has to be read to be understood.) that randomises the strips. Here's my own 'Dinosaur Remix,' as they call it. I just shortened it, and made a new one. It's a lot funnier, in my opinion (but, then again, I'm weird). And here I am, blogging, as well as trying to think of a last name that suits a character I'm thinking of.

And, here for the first time in a while, is a random list. Applause please. Today's topic: things about myself that annoy me:
*I can't type 'touche' without misspelling it at least once: I have no idea why. I just can't. I usually just write: Tocuhe. I just tried typing it quickly 5 times in succession, and 4 times I wrote 'Tocuhe.' (The other one was 'ocuhe.' *sigh*)
*I can almost never do the Tetris theme and the Mario theme in succession: Why? It's a very good question. But for weeks, if I remembered one, I forgot the other one. I only just got it today (I'll see if I can remember it in the morning.).
*My very bad memory: Example: I was going to put something else here. But I forgot what it was. So I did this. Yes, I know. I am incredibly weird. But you can't spell abnormal without AB!

Comments: 2 from 2 people. If Rosa hadn't commented, I would have done a very long rant. But she did, so I didn't.
*Shafi: 'Firstings?' What? From now on everybody, if you want to say you are first, actually have something else to say. Like Ebony. She is never going to let up about this, but: she is awesome that way (Oh god, what have I done?).
*Rosa: I did? Oh crap, I did! How did I miss that? Bugger. And I'm actually looking forward to Drama performance day as well, as I love Drama. It's fun. My bet is that the one with Jayson, Oscar, and presumably Shane as well will be the funniest. By a mile.

I'll finish up now. Wednesday will be a long post, and probably late, because I'm going to the orthodontist to get an extender or widener or something along those lines (it's metal, it goes on my teeth, and it looks weird) almost as soon as I get home, and then it'll be pretty much time for hapkido. Oh boy. And Wednesday week is my hundredth post (wow, that was quick), and I can't wait. (Oh, where has AC gone? They left one day and never came back. If you still read my blog, you might as well just say who you are. Or at least comment.)

I can't wait for Friday already,

I Live For Fridays

I love 'em. I don't understand how people can not like them; people need breaks. Although, this weekend may not be much of a break. Though it looks like this 3 page Geo essay will be fairly straightforward; they cover Pyrmont heavily in the textbook. Anyway. To my Friday.

Before school was utter randomness with everyone in our group, bar Matt who wasn't here and including Ebony. That was awesome. Period 1 was Maths, which somehow started on doing work and ended up changing into a discussion with Mango on such subjects as cosmic inflation, general relativity, and the tachyon, the theorised particle with imaginary mass. Somehow. I'm nerdy like that. Anyway. After that was Drama, which was getting into groups for an assignment we were set. I'm with Ebony, Amy, Pradeepti and Rutherford (I'm still getting used to the fact that his name isn't Ernest. ...nerd, remember?). I think we're going to go pretty well; Ebony summed it up with 'We're all Drama freaks.' Next was an Assembly of pointlessness, followed by 13. Period 3 was Commerce, which was a combined class in the computer labs since most people were at Cross-Country. So I went on Geometer's Sketchpad for the period, experimenting with tracing. I love that program. Period 4 was Science, which was 11 people playing poker, going on the blackboard, and doing nothing. In the end I was talking to Baxter (our sub) about string theory. Because I'm strange/awesome like that.

Lunch was 13, with the whole table up at one point or another, and 6 people playing 13: John, Andy, Kevin, Eric, Mango and me. I don't know how I can get a quad and triple but no pair, but there you go. My luck is strange like that. Period 5 was English, which was listening to more Macbeth (and the class laughing at Lady Macbeth's soliloquy in Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 38 to 54. Link. On an unrelated note, I still can't get used to the fact that in our class, Ebony doesn't play Lady Macbeth. Still traces of Tournament of Minds linger.). Last was History, which was doing some work, but mostly bludging. Thank god for Fridays. Skip to me at home, I cooked dinner (well, spaghetti, and with my Dad telling me what to do. Not hard.), and here I am, blogging.

1 comment. One comment. Where the hell is everybody? The answer is... I don't know. To replies.
*Ebony: Unspoken bonds. I'm really not sure what to say here. And Pyrmont is in the textbook, thank god, all of it. It's just a matter of weeding through the textbook jargon and sleep-inducing boredom. And here's something: they're friggin' inanimate objects. My bag does not need a name. If I don't name it, it won't do anything. It won't do anything anyway. Ignore my insanity.

I'll finish up right now. The weekend will be , in my prediction, some work, some book, and little relaxation. Ah well. I can't wait for the end of the half-yearlies.

Weekends are wonderful,

A Long Day of Doing Nothing

That's basically been my day. A long day of doing nothing. A good kind of nothing, though (I love stealing from myself.). So I'm going to do another list (incredibly random). But anyway. To my day.

I woke up around 8:15 (thank god), and watched TV for a while. Then after breakfast, we had to clean the house. Then, once that was finished, I got onto my computer, for a while. Then we had to go up the shops, to pick up some stuff, and for my brother to get a haircut. I will get to that. We went to Casula Shops, and specifically to K-Mart. I was looking in the books section (of course), and I came across 2 editions of 'Angels and Demons': One normal, and one of those 'movie edition' books, as the movie of 'Angels and Demons' is coming out (which I will be going to.). The normal one was $19.99, and the other was $21.99. Which makes you wonder why they'd stock both editions, next to each other, no less. It just seemed really stupid. Anyway. Then I got dropped off at home, while my Mum and my brother went out so he could get a haircut. After about an hour of MSN, surfing the net and listening to the song stuck in my head repeatedly ('The Final Countdown' by Europe. There was a band called 'Europe.' I've never understood why. It's just asking for misunderstanding. But, I'm off topic.). When they got back, I looked at my brother, and flinched. Seriously, flinched. He had hair down to his neck; now it's like mine. It's freaky. I'm still not used to it. Then for basically the rest of the day, I went on my laptop. Surfing the net, for want of something else to do. Not many people are on MSN. I talked to Ebony, Leeza and Victor. I'm still talking to Leeza and Victor. And I'm blogging of course. But that's it.

Now the random list. This is a bit of a specific one, so I'll explain. I was Googling "AB: A Blog", for some reason, and near the bottom was a title that read: 'blogging >> Blog Archive >> AB: A Blog: Too Much Too Quickly.' I clicked on the link, but the blog had apparently been deleted. But Google had cached it, so here it is. It looked like one of my posts had been translated in and out of English, then put onto some random person's blog. I don't why or how they got it, but they did. And now, without further ado: The strangest phrases from the strange post of my post.
*Another epoch of ictus: That sounds randomly awesome. It's one of those things that are so bad it's good. I feel like just renaming my blog that. Cross-checking with the actual post (which i did with the other phrases) and I got 'Another day of stress.' It was funny.
*Which means I own to fill old-fashioned both ends convene modish ones in a minute: Now what the hell was that? I can't even begin to understand that. It's like something from a really bad dub. I think it came from 'Which means I have to get new ones soon,' which sort of makes sense, but it's still way off.
*My uncle is a grievous perforate in it, I over (which I due coordinate old-fashioned apropos today): I give up. I think they just picked random words out of the dictionary. Although, it would be awesome in a ridiculous-and-faintly-disturbing sort of way if my whole blog was done like that. But, I digress. It seems to have come from 'My uncle is a black belt in it, I think (which I just found out about today).' They seem to love the word 'old-fashioned,' as it's scattered all throughout the 'translation.' I think it comes from the word 'out,' although how is beyond me.

OK. Moving on from that strange thing, comments. 8, from 5 people. Which is pretty good.
*Victor: I don't know why you'd be afraid to be first. I'm fine with comments that actually mean something, and are first. First for the sake of first is too much.
*Karen: That's fine, my blog is not the be-all and end-all. And yes, 6:45 is ridiculous. But 1:10 pm is just as out there. And don't remind me about the rapidly disappearing holidays. Please.
*Victor: He's right.
*Mango: Okay...
*Mango: Now we have another paragraphing stickler. And 'Disagree with AB' Day would surely be a a failure. As soon as I recognise that that is the day, everybody would say it isn't.
*Mango: I am.
*Ebony: Every new idea. That is what I'm doing. But the ideas go on forever. And stop complaining about Stephenie Meyer. She is awesome. Yes, there is a lot of hype. But for a good reason. Again: I'll shut up about paragraphs if you stop bagging Meyer.
*Rosa: I love NSW too, but if I had to move, it'd be to Canberra. And maybe she's overrated, but I think she's good. (See Ebony? We have a reasonable person here.)

Going to finish up now. Tomorrow I think I'm going out for dinner, so the blog will either be really early or really late. So a heads up there.

There's that day of relaxation (finally),

Relief and Randomness

Relief because we didn't do any assessments (Shock! Horror!), and randomness because, well, today was a random day. So on to Thursday...

I got driven to school by Jo again, and we talked about my blog, specifically, this post, as she wanted to see what I wrote about that fateful jet boat ride. She told me that she was in stitches laughing. That made me feel good. Period 1 was Science, in which we did an experiment, with acid and fire. Although, in Science that's sort of a given. After that was Maths, in which I played around on Graphmatica, and finished the book I was reading. So I moved on to the other book in my bag, 'Twilight.' Yes, I've already read it, but it's a great book. Only problem is, after watching the movie, I can't help but imagine the book (as it's written from Bella's perspective, obviously) in Kristen Stewart's voice (actor who played Bella). In Recess, boarders (specifically, Olivia Linke and a few friends) teamed up to stop Cam from kicking me out of the band for reasons that I will not attempt to understand. Sometimes I just don't know if people are taking the piss out of me. But, either way, it's funny. Periods 3 and 4 were spent in Ag. Period 3 was me on my iPod (coincidentally, there is no song stuck in my head, so much as lyrics. Those lyrics are 'Wernher von Braun' by Tom Lehrer. Link. He also wrote the Elements Song, which I have of course, memorised.) Period 4 was me vaccinating a cow. Which went OK. Of course, in an Ag lesson, something had to go wrong. And the only one in months I actually took initiative in, my right ring finger got caught between a cow and a pole. Then the cow, freaking out, charged. The pain shot through my finger, as blood started flowing and skin and cuticle came off. This is another of those times that just make you look up and say 'This is why I am an atheist.' Lunch, as always, was playing that most enjoyable of card games, 13. I lost with startling regularity, which I put down to not sitting where I usually do. The highlight of that lunch was me playing 3 triples, or something like that, and Eric claiming 'You cheater!' To which I replied, 'You dealt!' That was funny. Another thing was even more random. In our group we call each other 'aftsholes,' which came about when Andy mispronouned 'ass.' Now we have a new one: Victor almost mispronounced 'technical' as 'testicle' (I'm smiling just thinking about it), so, of course, we replace technical now with testicle, which both makes speech a lot funnier and makes people look at you just that little bit weirder. Which makes it all the more humorous.

Period 5 was English, in which we got our English marks back. I got 14 out of 20, and considering the high was 17 in our class, I think I did pretty well. But the most surprising was that Rhys got the best in the class, even beating Lana. And no, I'm not kidding. He shouted out '17!' in class, and I thought he was kidding. We also did some short story work. I had a really good idea, and I might even write the whole thing. Later. (Serial procrastinator). Period 6 was History, which was a bludge, as Tan lost his rubber ball as Alan somehow knocked it out of the classroom, down a flight of stairs, and into oblivion. When I got home, I went on my laptop, finished off my Scratch project (the Coastline Generator. I'll upload it when the Scratch website goes back on. I don't know what's wrong with it.), and surfed the net, as well as going on MSN. The new Megatokyo comic is up, as well. While watching TV after dinner, I noticed a moment of stupidity. I was watching the Biggest Loser, and somebody was switching teams. But in the ad before they told you who, there was a commercial for the Sunday Biggest Loser, in which they showed you exactly who swapped. Goodbye suspense. And right now, I'm watching the Carlton-Richmond game, AFL of course. Surprised you? I love the Carlton Blues.

And that was a Thursday of relief and randomness, except for when that cow charged me (in a way). But, all in all, I loved today. I'll end with a quote from Holy Grail, because, as I've said before, they are awesome.

She turned me into a newt (I got better),

A Weird and Whimsical Wednesday

I know it's a strange title. But today was a really fun day. Today may have been the day of the Drama assessment, but I tell you what: I've never had more fun doing a project. I'll tell you all about it, and just how fun today was.

Period 1 was Drama, and I was ninth out of the eleven people who were scheduled today. A brief rundown, first, of everyone in order:
* Tansy's: Funny, and very good. Strange too, but in a good way.
* Allie's: She talked about smells, for some reason, but it worked really well, I think.
* Ebony's: Very weird, but again, in a good way. I think she summed up the whole thing, in that it was an eyeopener for everybody.
* Vivian's: Funny. It was full of anecdotes, and I like anecdotes.
* Tri's: A bit like mine, in that it did a day in the life of him.
* Cameron's: Of course, he ended up playing his guitar. But it was pretty good, and very realistic.
* Amanda's: It seemed pretty good. It was fun.
* Alice's: Hers was a bit unorthodox, but I liked it. One of those ones with that je ne sais quoi.
* Mine: I'll get to that in a minute.
* Rosa's: Hers was really good. Funny too, another one with anecdotes.
* Lana's: She did hers with an amnesia thing. It was pretty well-performed (she made me feel less of a nerd. It was a weird feeling.)
Now, to mine. I did mine as a day in the life of 3 ABs: A Bookworm, A Blogger and A Beatkeeper, which dealt with, in order: Reading, Computer and Music. I think I did pretty well, but that's just me. I brought speech cards, but I didn't use them that much, except to keep to a basic plot. I impromtu'd (OK, stop using made-up words.) a good portion of it. Maybe that was what was fun about it: you could just do anything and it adds to the performance, as well as letting people see that I'm not just that kid who reads all the time. I like it.

Period 2 was Maths, which was doing a brief amount of work. No real thought required, just writing and using a calculator. Recess was spent just talking, and playing 13. Period 3 was PE, which wasn't doing work so much as talking about traffic experiences Mr. Wilson has had, and talking about a sheet we got given. That was pretty bludgy, so that was fun. For Lunch, we (Andy, Eric, Kevin, Victor and me) played 13 again, until the bell rang, though Eric had to go, since he does Tennis. I think I only won one game, but it was a good one. I had 3 to Queen, a 6, a 10, and a 2. I held up until the round was mine, after playing a 6, and then a 2 to win the round. Then I played my trump cards, 3 to Queen, then ended with a 10. That was fun. For sport, we did soccer (with limited success, ie, I sucked), and then hockey (I did basically nothing). I also found out that Victor watched 'Monty Python,' so we started quoting 'Holy Grail' like crazy. (If you haven't seen it, there's something wrong with you.) Then when the bell went, I went up to the library for a while, read a bit (but didn't borrow), then went down to the station. I had a talk with Dana (a Year 11 girl on my station. She's fun to talk to.), and then I caught the bus home. Nibraas and Sakib were in the seat behind me, when I heard 'Get your back up off the wall...' I groaned. Those were the first lines to the remix of 'We Break the Dawn' featuring Flo Rida, which was the song first used in our dance yesterday. Nibraas was at that dance. He also said yesterday (which I mentioned in the last post) that he recorded my dance on his phone. I turned around, and asked to have a look at it. He asked if he could put it on Youtube. It would be funny if my dancing was any better. Although, having a look at the dance, I don't think I did so bad, although I don't play a good drunk. Anyway. When I got home, I went on my laptop, since I didn't go on this morning, since I was preparing for the Drama assessment. So I went on MSN, surfed the net, had dinner, watched TV, and now here I am blogging.

And that was today. I really liked today: it was fun, and I discovered that someone in the group likes Monty Python, and the reason I chose Drama: because it's fun and it gives me a chance to express my creative side a bit more openly. I also feel like doing a list/rant in the next few days, so keep reading. I'll end with a quote from 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,' because I wanted to end with a random i.e. awesome line, as that's just how my day went, random i.e. awesome.

If she weighed the same as a duck... she's made of wood. And therefore... A witch!

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Monday

Another day, another pop culture reference. I'll just say go ahead and Wiki it if you're interested. Today's title basically refers to how today the world was crazy, insane, mad. But, that's not a bad thing. Basically like I say here, but more 'peace-out,' optimistic rather than cynical and pessimistic.

Jo drove me to school, about 30 seconds ahead of my train. Got to school, then Period 1. We had Science, and this was one very strange thing. We did an experiment, but instead of inside, we went out to the basketball court. We poured sulfuric acid on to sugar. Now that may seem relatively harmless, but apparently that experiment releases steam and sulfur dioxide, which according to the internet (according to spellcheck, 'internet' is not a word. WT7?) is toxic and one of the primary components of acid rain (sort of. Technically it's sulfuric acid, which is made up of oxygen and sulfur dioxide. Wikipedia.), so no inside. I found a demonstration on the net. Have a look at the link, that's essentially what happened. Several double entendres were made during that lesson, most by Mr. Robson unintentionally. The link should pretty much explain how. Next came Geography, which involved getting a sheet and Johnson talking about the difference between barriers and bars, both mentioned in passing in the first paragraph. Although, we got much more distracted during Ag last year with McAlpin. At one point we got from fertilisers to the defense capabilities of Switzerland. I may have learnt more during that lesson than I had that entire term. Recess was interesting in that it was boring (makes sense to me). Victor had left, apparently due to vomiting (I'm still not 100% on the details), and Ian and Shafi were probably in the library. So I talked to John and Kevin. We all brought bananas, and were comparing how strange they were. Kevin's was 4 cm long, John's was black, and mine was green and not exactly ready to eat yet. I learnt that the hard way. Period 3 was English, in which we read a short story from a book, and I spent half the period looking stuff up in a 35 year old dictionary (I'm still not sure I how got to that.). Next came Maths, which was doing some work and playing on my calculator. It's strange, but no matter what we do in Maths, I always end up messing around on my calculator (incidentally, the highest number I can do on my calculator with 4 4's without having a Math Error is 4!!4 x (4 x √4)!).

Lunch, 1st half, was talking about... not much actually, and arm wrestling, for some reason. I beat John, tied with Eric, and was beaten by Ian. Hmm. 2nd half was dancing in Room 6 again. Period 5 was Drama, in which Cam and I had to do some mime, so we figured we could make this fun. Cam pretended to be Kolodziej, and imitated him the whole time, including how he sits (strangely) and the infamous Breaking of the Watch. I wasn't there, but I heard it was hilarious. Commerce for me was spent reading, and talking in short intervals. I got home in a 10-year old bus, and my New Scientist was not there. It wasn't there on Friday either. If it's not here by Wednesday, I am going to raise some hell. At home, I did some Geography homework, and got on my computer. Oh, and... EPISODE 36 IS OUT! That's another one! Here's the link, watch it now!

OK, now I'd like to mention some random people.
* My Dad, who specifically mentioned to be put in today's post. He's doing Uni, because he didn't get to as he joined the Navy at 16 or 17. Congrats Dad!
* Justin, who apparently just found my blog. He joins a select group of about 10 people who read this thing.
* Anonymous Commenter Number 1 from this post. You made my day, in that I spent ages trying to work out who you were. I still don't know.
* Indra, from this post. You are the reverse of the above person, in that I know your name, but not who you are (I hope that makes sense).
* Shafi, for getting MSN. Good luck! (To quote him: 'talking to cam and matt simultaneogdgdh' I guess he still has to get typing down.)
* Hurlstone, for having a 24th of March fetish.

OK, that's about it for today. Hopefully tomorrow will be less work. I promise one day I'll stop random lists. Maybe. I'll end with a brain-puzzler. It's got me stumped.

This sentence is a lie,

Chilling Out, Maxing

If you're wondering WT7 that title means, it's part of the lyrics to 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' If you're wondering what that is, just Wiki it. OK, now that that's out of the way, I chose that title because that was what I did today: basically chilled and did nothing.

I woke up at around 7:20, and got on my laptop. As usual, I went straight onto Megatokyo (I finished every strip as of today at around 4.), MSN, the usual. My brother then had to go to his AFL game, so I was stuck at home. I did some homework (*sigh*), watched Family Guy, and talked on MSN to Alexa. I had lunch, did more stuff on my laptop, etc, etc. After my brother got home, I played PS3 for a short time, had dinner, and watched TV. I also did some reading and a short dance rehearsal by myself. Hmm, is that it? It was a fairly monotonous day (hmm, fairly monotonous, maybe I should have used that for the title)... Tell, you what, I'll do more random lists. These are fun.

Things that piss me off:
* Spelling errors: you would think in books, they'd bother to spellcheck. Maybe that seems harsh, there's so many pages, but you'd think they'd learn to spell right on an advertisement on the back of a bus! (OK, maybe they're funny, but, still, I don't like spelling errors.) And I'm not talking about long words, little things like their and there.
* Projects all due in the space of one week: Or, in the case of Tuesday, one day.
* People not telling me if something's to do with me: Man, I have a right to know.
* My 'New Scientist' coming on Monday, not the previous Friday: Damn the postal system not coming on weekends.

Hmm. Things I'm obsessed with:
* The Periodic Table: It runs through my head all the time. Luckily reading shuts it up. (Nerdy and Proud of it!)
* Queen: I know, I'm obsessed. If you listen, you'll know why.
* My blog: Sorta goes without saying. Nothing under 4oo words!
* My laptop: My world, man!

Book Ideas:
* Hitler's adopted son taking over the world: That went 2 pages before I realised I didn't have a protagonist.
* Genghis Khan something something magical powers: I had that obsession in Year 6-7.
* Something about breaking prejudices: I'm sure I have a character list somewhere.
* Defence on Atheism: I don't read Richard Dawkins.
* Werewolves fighting with swords against a Masked Man: I had a dream this morning, and that was it.

Songs I've written and their choruses (please note that I write to write and not about anything):
* Life In Oakwood Town:
Well life in this old town
Is simple and carefree
I don’t care what people say
But Oakwood Town’s for me

* For You:
‘Cause I’d, stop the world spinning
For You
‘Cause I’d, halt time in its tracks
For You
It doesn’t matter where you are
Doesn’t matter what you do
I’d still do anything
For You

* Where Have You Gone:
Where have you gone?
Right now I’m missing you
Where have you gone?
Now there’s one where there was two
My heart is filled with sadness
When I ask Why and How?
And all that I want to know
Is to know where you are now

* Truth In Lies:
You are the one
My special one
And I see you
When I close my eyes
You broke my heart
When you told me
And you showed me
The truth in lies

Ideas belong sole property of me, you get the picture. I'd give you the tunes to go along with the lyrics, but I can't do those. I guess that sums up today, and more random lists too. I probably won't do more of those random lists, one because they're basically filler (but still cool) and two because I don't think I can think of any more. School tomorrow. Ah, well.

Relaxing all the while,

Slightly Surreal

Man, another awesome title. I am on a roll. Anyway, I've been putting this off since 7:45, because I've been reading 'Megatokyo,' which I will get to. The title means that today was slightly surreal (Captain Obvious to the rescue!), meaning slightly unreal, fantastic. At least that's what my online dictionary says. Thinking is for school. (Oh, and happy Pi Day. 3/14, in American terms.)

I got up at 8:30, which is really late for me, considering on weekends I'm usually up by at least 7:30. I don't know why, I just am. I got pancakes for breakfast (sweet), then I spent all the time up until around 10:45 cleaning my room and doing the kitchen, because we had Dance rehearsal for PE today at my house, which I will get to. Yep, my weekend was shaping up great. And, no, it was not my idea to do chores, it was my parents'. *sigh*. Joy. At around 11:10 we went to pick up Oishi and Nancy from the station, and we got to work on some dance moves in the dining room. We had to move the table, but it was the biggest space in the house. We were going to be in my room, but it was too small. All that time taken up for cleaning. And my brother was in the house, and he was watching. Ah, well. We did some dancing until about 1, when they had to go home. I was about to go on my laptop when we had to go to the shops to buy a present for my Mum's birthday on Tuesday. I ended up getting lunch there. We bought some charms (well, by bought, I mean my Dad gave us the money), and promptly got of there. That seems quick, but after a short stop to the fruit store, we got home around 3:15. I then had to get on my laptop. I looked at Megatokyo (which delayed today's post. I'm on a great strip, 680. Spoilers ahead. It really sums up the comic so far.), went on MSN, and got the new one (it looks nothing like the original and functions almost exactly the same.), reading, etc, etc. Since then I've been basically been doing nothing but surfing the net and having dinner. I'd also like to say some of the things I'd like to do, because I sorta have the time now.

* Write a book: Unlikely, because I've tried to do that heaps of times. Never gets further than a few pages.
* Learn Dutch: I really don't have the time. Unfortunately.
* Learn to draw: Ditto.
* Learn guitar: Ditto. Also I don't have a guitar.

Wow, I thought that'd be quicker. Hmm. How about subjects I'd like to do for Years 11 and 12.

* Physics: I really like Physics.
* Chemistry: Ditto.
* Legal Studies: People have said that I have a knack for that type of thing (ie reading long, boring books and talking people into comas).
* Economics: I did really well in Commerce last year. And I figure money makes the world go round.
* Maths Extension: I think I'm good in Maths.
* Industrial Studies: Just kidding.

OK, my favourite websites, in no particular order.
* Megatokyo: One of the best webcomics.
* xkcd: Ditto.
* Dinosaur Comics: Ditto.
* Unspeakable Vault (of Doom): Ditto.
* News.com.au: I like to keep in touch with the world (no, really.)
* YuGiOh - The Abridged Series: Because they're awesome.
* My Blog: Naturally.

OK, now I'm bored. That should be enough for today. As I said, slightly surreal, but, that's cool. (And if you're thinking that 'Slightly Surreal' is an great name for a song, I already tried writing that. With limited success.) Sunday will hopefully be more of a bludge. Hopefully. Sorry if today was a bit disjointed, but, as I've said before: thinking is for school.

Random lists FTW,

Dancing, Scratch and Megatokyo

You may have read that title and thought WT7? How are any of those things related? And the answer is that they all played a fairly large part on Friday the 13th (which went pretty smoothly).

My Dad drove me to school, etc, etc, you know the drill. Period 1 was Agriculture, which was writing stuff down in our books, NTR (No Thought Required). Next came Geography, in which we went up to the library for the second or third period running, but we didn't take any notes. Just watching, talking. A nice little break from work at school. Next came Assembly, in which I got very cramped up (too many people, not enough space), and worked out exactly what I have on Tuesday the 24th:

Period 2: Geography Assessment and Glenfield School Reading
Period 5: Drama Assessment and PE Assessment

As you can see, that is a big problem. To say the least. Will they change it around, who knows? Great work, Hurlstone. Genius. And, to top it all off, for PE, there's not enough time to do it in class, so we have to give up lunch times, after-school times, I'm even doing some stuff tomorrow. On Saturday. Oy. Anyway, Recess was an hour, in which it rained, and we talked about everything from how other people looked in my glasses to how far back I can put my eyes (answer to both: very weird and almost all the way). Maths was Period 3, which was about 10 minutes for some reason, and involved little work. Science followed, and was doing an experiment with hydrogen peroxide and fire. No theory, just experiment. Lunch was doing some dancing (part 1 of title) in Room 6, with Oishi and Nancy, for just over an hour. Then I went to the music room with everyone, and we did some music (of course). Period 5 was Commerce, which involved more theory, *sigh*. The only good thing about Commerce in Period 5 is that I don't finish the day with it. English was a bludge, doing 10 minutes of work and subsequently reading a Bill Bryson book and attempting not to burst out laughing, with limited success (I was reading Bill Bryson: I probably should have seen that coming.). Thus ends school, but not Friday. I got home, and after a while I went on the Scratch website (part 2 of title), and I realise I've been featured on the Scratch site. That means that my project (specifically this one) has been considered one of the best on the Scratch site. That was exhilarating. But, the day still wasn't finished. Through thine computerised information god Wikipedia, I got onto a comic called Megatokyo, which is really good. Would I be so forward to say it is better than xkcd and Dinosaur Comics? Which is really saying something. Oh, and today, I don't really have a song stuck in my head. Ah well.

Now, that ends Friday, or the better part of it. I shall blog, as always, tomorrow. I might say comment again, but yesterday's were pretty random. But, fun. Somebody is reading. Comment!

Friday the 13th isn't as bad as Tuesday the 24th,

The Randomness Striketh

That's right, no more song titles! But, because everything sounds better when you make it sound old-timey and slightly retarded (proof. That took ages to find. Then I found out there was a search function on the website.), I made it 'striketh.' (Oh, I've also added a small thing at the side of my page: a word count of my blog.)

I got to school, the usual. Period 1 was English, which was copying stuff out of the booklet (Joy.). Next came Maths, which involved Mango coming out with 4 consecutive numbers multiplied together, plus 1, equals a square number. That square number, square-rooted, is the product of the first and fourth consecutive numbers, plus 1. Proving that took up a good part of the period (In A1, we do that. It's called boredom. Why we do maths is probably why we're in A1. At least that's my guess.), but it works all the time. Proof here. Recess involved talking about the band and what we think is the best song we've ever written. Eric thought 'State of Mind,' Cam thought 'Now She's Gone.' I'm leaning towards 'Where Have You Gone,' just for the sheer catchiness factor. Speaking of music, the song stuck in my head is a parody Abridged song called 'Villain' (link). Period 3 was Drama, which was doing some mime stuff. It's harder than it looks (sorta). Next was Commerce, which was ultra-random, as we split into groups of 5 and pretended we were all in 11th century English villages to talk about common law. Or something like that. Fun, but incredibly random at the same time. But the pinnacle of the randomness of the day was Lunch, in which we (me, Cam, John, Eric, Mango, Victor) went to Room 7 to look at Matt dancing, as well as watching 2 giant chess games, getting a magazine off Ian, and making $2 for more random things involving Room 7 and the magazine (separately). Eric also listened to Hamish and Andy on my iPod. Periods 5 and 6 were PE, dance specifically. We did some work, and we talked about meeting times and exactly how I was getting the steps wrong and what details I could do to fix them. School then ended, but the randomness still didn't stop, as the bus driver somehow manages to miss a turn with little traffic, extending the bus trip by about 10 minutes, and then when I go to ask him about it when he's stopped, he's on his phone saying 'I've missed the turn!' Give the man a medal, he's a genius. Luckily the rest of the journey went fairly smoothly, and I did no homework (as I had none), and went on MSN, the net and TV. Basic night really.

Such sums up a day of randomness, links and localised craziness (hmm, that doesn't sound too bad, localised craziness. Good name for a song?). I end with a quick quote of my own creation, which also happens to be my MSN screen name (another good idea for a song name came last night, in MSN: 'Human, But Otherwise Alright'. Crossed messages, but they work really well together I think). Comment if you can!
