Well, my friends, you have seen many a post, and if you've been following my blog, you will notice that it's the 23rd of January, and there hasn't been a post since the 5th. Of December. And it has slowly come to my attention that this blog is slowly slipping away. So, it is to my regret that I cannot keep up with the month's worth of posts. And so, readers, I must say goodbye to the type of blog in which I post about every single day. Instead, I am going to begin to post whenever I feel like it, and about whatever I want.
Rest assured I am not taking this decision lightly. I have been thinking about this for a while, ever since I realised there was a month of posting to do and there wasn't much chance of it getting done. My blog is thus undergoing a transition of such. With this in mind, I need to do two things. One: stop talking like this (I am beginning to sound very stuck-up and formal here. Hooray, brackets!). Two: recap everything that has happened in the last month, in one post. So, of course, it won't be as detailed as every post. Though, it will be very long. Then, I'll talk about precisely which way the blog is going, and comment replies.
Bloody hell, there is a lot to write here. So, I'll try to do one or two paragraphs for every day that I want to blog about, because some days I did nothing and I forgot about more. (oh, boy, this will be long. Really long.), although there may be problems with some days. That's understandable, though. Bear with me here, for this is a post that may seemingly go on forever. It'll go up to the end of 2009 in detail, because I took notes. Not much afterwards, though.
*Monday, 7 December: The last week of school started today, and Period 1 was Ag, where we dug up potatoes by the kilo. There were two bags full. That's Hurlstone for you. Most of the day wasn't too exciting, although at Lunch I had a rant similar to the one I did about 2012. After school, we had EJ's formal to go to, which brought up memories of my Year 6 formal. Happy days, my friends, happy days.
*Tuesday, 8 December: Period 1 was Science, and it was funny. We proved much of science wrong (though some experiments may have been set up wrong.). We tried to make the greenhouse effect, and the carbon dioxide bottle got cooler; and Pitt tried to show us how you can't get a bottle to break by throwing it against a wall. I broke it on the first try. Next was Geography, we watched a little of 'The Gods Must Be Crazy.' Period 3 was listening to a funny speech by Will Ferrell, and next was Period 4, where we watched the Muppets on Youtube with Rawson. That was funny. Lunch was puns galore, Period 5 was playing CounterStrike (I sucked), and Period 6 was Commerce, which was playing DotA. I was alright; Ian owned.
*Wednesday, 9 December: You will not believe what happened today, readers. I should have been doing the 'All My Own Work' seminar in Periods 1 and 2. However, while walking into school, I was stopped outside the gate by Coombes, who said that there was a NASA thing going on in the same two periods, and it may be possible that I get into it. Skip to me running around the school to see Norris, and I managed to get into it and do the 'All My Own Work' with 10I (Victor, Eric and Kevin's class.). The NASA thing was very good, and we learnt much. Ebony was jealous. Then, later it was the seminar itself, which was rather simplistic. Put it this way: there was a find-a-word in it. And more than one crossword. I rest my case. Then it was Sport, which was rollerboards, and later iPods. Later, it was hapkido, which was not much special.
*Thursday, 10 December: This was the big day: the final Year 10 Assembly, and the formal. Dear god, I wish I could make a full-length post of this. But that would cause a lot of problems, so I'll try to compress as much as I can. Before school, there was a bit of a fiasco, as I thought I had to wear a winter uniform, instead of a summer uniform. Well, long story short, Mum rushed home, and I changed with barely minutes to go before the ceremony. Which was quite an awesome one. Why? Because I got 5 out of 6 Band 6s in the School Certificate, and 100% in Maths. Only person in the grade to get that. If that doesn't qualify as a right to brag, I seriously don't know what does. Anyway. Soon, we went to the formal, and I was crowned Biggest Nerd of the grade. With the 100% I got (I may mention that a lot), they were great awards. There was a lot of dancing and talking, up until 11.
*Monday, 21 December: (Yeah, I skipped a lot. Holidays blend together.) The main thing that happened was that we went over to Shay's, where we exchanged pressies. I got mangles (man bangles. They don't look too bad.) and books.
*Friday, 25 December: Happy Boxing Eve, everybody! We exchanged presents at around 7:30, and soon went to Aunty Karen's, where it was mostly reading and escaping from their crazy-ass dog. Towards the end of the day, we went to Paul's.
*From Sunday, 27 December to Monday, 4 December: This was the big family vacation, to a town called Port Fairy, which is about 3/4 of the way from Melbourne to the border of Victoria and South Australia. We went with Shay's family, and some of her friends and extended family. There was scuba diving, reading, and Sims 3 on Shay's laptop. Also, New Year's. Happy New Decade, people.
*Saturday, 9 January: Shay and I went shopping for clothes, for my birthday. It was in line with my resolution: To care about my appearance more. We spent $150.
*Sunday, 10 January: I turn 15! Yes, indeed, and I get many a book. There was also 'Family Guy,' and going out to dinner. Banana cake, as well. Mmm, banana cake.
I have not much else to add. I mean, two weeks, a lot blends together. That's a problem. So, I'll just pretty much sign off here. I shall blog when the mood takes me. Otherwise, I won't. Farewell, previous blog mode. It's been fun.
For a new future,
AB

Spacers and Shoppers
Me, I was the shopper! As well as my Mum. We also went to the orthodontist, and put spacers in. So, explanation there. I tried thinking of plays on words and other alliterative titles, but there's not a lot you can do with the word 'orthodontist' (I did consider 'or the dontist,' but it didn't work out too well.). Anyway. Let's have a look at my day, as I really try to get really back on schedule.
I woke up at around 7:15, as I wasn't going to school today and so didn't have to wake up early. It wasn't because we weren't doing anything at school and so why bother, nor was it to do with me going to the concert (the awesome concert, mind you) yesterday, but rather that I had an appointment at the orthodontist (so, the other two reasons were related, but not directly. The appointment was when it was because I would be otherwise going to school and do nothing because I wasn't going to school and do nothing because I wasn't going to camp because of the concert. Just wanted to get that out of the way.). So I got my stuff, and Mum and I soon headed over to Liverpool shops.
We first went and dropped Mum's car off for a service, and then walked to Westfields, where we wandered around the shops. We first stopped by 'Toys R Us' (and I would have made a backwards R there if I could, but I can't, at least without an inordinate amount of effort. Yes, I use the word 'inordinate.') to find stuff that we could get for various Christmas presents (I know, we've started to think about that already, and there is over a month to go. But, jees, the year goes quickly. I mean, it's already halfway through November.). We had a look at the computer games (for want of a better classification. DS games and PS3 games and such.) and looked amongst the board games, and around some other toys and games (did you know they still make Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards? I saw them in the shops and I was somewhat shocked.). After that, we both went to the orthodontist for my appointment.
I got in, and watched the TV for a few minutes before I was called in for the actual appointment. I laid down on the bed, awaiting whatever it was they were going to do. 30 seconds later, they said they'd finished. Blink and you would have missed it. Turns out they only put spacers in (very similar to the ones from this post, although I'm assuming they won't hurt as much, due to my jaw already being partially used to them. Hopefully.). It was very quick (that's what she said!), and I have to come back on Wednesday (not tomorrow, a week from tomorrow), I think to put elastics on. But don't quote me.
After we got out of the orthodontist's, we went back into Westfields, where we went to get my suit for the formal (buying it is apparently cheaper than hiring it, even just for one night, which makes no sense but there you go). I had some choice in the matter, in that the attendant and Mum picked various suits, shirts and ties, and I said yes or no. Probably for the best, as otherwise it wouldn't turn out too well, which it eventually did. We then went down to the bus stop, and rode the bus home, getting to home at about 12:30. And so, for essentially the rest of the day, I went on 'Fantastic Contraptions' and blogged.
And that was my day. Sorry for the late post, I am really trying to get back up, believe me. It's annoying me like hell, but I persevere. I swear I will get back up to date soon. Maybe on a weekend where I'm doing absolutely nothing.

Borders Patrol
OK, I'm back in the realm of titling with plays on words. This one is referring to the fact that I went to Borders, the great two level book store in Macarthur Square that holds a number of magnificent books at prices at Dymocks level (that's not to say that they don't have, in my view, overpriced books. But so do Dymocks. Average price is what I'm saying here.). So, yes, I went to Borders. Anyway. Onward to my day!
I woke up at around 7:30, and I eventually, after messing around and doing chores, did some Science study. Mostly Year 9 stuff, as I need to know that and there are questions where you have to remember the facts, not like in Maths, for example, where you can work it out, or some other exams, where you can guess it pretty well, as the answer is fairly straight-forward (like PE, where you may only know a few facts, and use common sense to get the rest. How well you get usually depends on how well you guess.). Around 11, we left for Macarthur Square.
We went to Borders first, and there was a reason (we weren't just going in for no particular reason. We should actually do that more often.). You see, it was Shaylee's birthday about a week ago (November 2, to be precise), and I hadn't had a chance to get anything for her. So I looked around the shop, and I ended up finding a book for her (I haven't read it before, but it looks pretty good). Mum got her something too, and so with that done, I went to the lower level to check out the physics book. I ended up finding another book on string theory, which is surprising as this one isn't by Brian Greene. I got it of course; it wasn't too expensive, as some physics books are (I saw a book for $40! And not one of those gigantic, hardcover, A4 sized books, either; a regularly sized paperback. Jesus, that's a rip.). I also found something for Dad for Christmas, or, rather, Mum found it and I got it. I think he'll like it. We then wandered around the shops for a while, and at around 12:30, we left for home.
When I got home, I blogged for a bit, and played cards with EJ. For dinner, we went to Moorebank Sports Clubs, with the family of one of Dad's friends from cricket. Unfortunately, the oldest kid is EJ's age, so I was feeling a little bit left out. Dinner was good, though, as I had a bacon and beef burger (it didn't have any cheese on it, which is something that could have made it much, much better.). And for dessert, I had ice-cream with chocolate topping. I think it can be safely said that it was a good dinner, although I didn't have much to do. On the car ride to Club Italia and back (we had to drop Dad off to a meeting), I listened to my iPod, which promptly ran out of charge. In all fairness, I haven't charged it in a while. And when I got home, I blogged, but not enough. So here I am.
I shall now go on to comment replies, with two from the one person.
*Mango: ...that makes sense. Thanks for that!
*Mango: I rarely actually use that calculator, and I have never had reason to check the modes. So, there.
And that was my day. I'm trying to get back up to schedule, trust me, but there's been study for exams getting in the way, and a lot of other stuff coming up (did I expect to go to that dinner? No.). So I'm guessing after exams. And I know I'm procrastinating, but what do you expect?

Seeing, Read
OK, maybe that wasn't the greatest pun, as I wasn't actually angry (as in, seeing red). I just couldn't think of a decent title, and I wanted a title, any title, to do with books. This one worked. Anyway. Without further ado, to my day, as I am having severe posting issues to do with lateness.
I was woken up at around 7:30, as we had stuff to do in the day, of course. I was a little reluctant, as I am on doing things on Sunday (It's not that I'm religious or anything, no, I'm atheist, but I'm lazy.). I wasn't going to go before (which would be a pity, as you'll soon see), but with the new revelation that the shoes Dad brought back from Canberra were actually his, not mine, it has become evident that I have lost my shoes (no idea how you lose shoes, but I did), so we had to get new ones. Me being me, I just basically found any set of white shoes that would fir me (not as easy as it seems, as I have huge feet. Size 12, or something.), and brought them to Mum. This was in Big W, and so while Mum had to go look at something, I looked around the book section, seeing if they had anything decent. And then I saw it.
Upside down, on a shelf, but still perfectly recognisable: the new Matthew Reilly book had finally hit bookshelves. The final book in the Jack West Jr trilogy (for want of a better name), known as 'The Five Greatest Warriors.' I could hardly believe it. I grabbed it and held it tightly to my chest, not caring who saw me. I rushed to see how much it was, which was $25. For that price, it was mine. As I repeated several times, to get it they would have to pry it out of my cold dead hands. So I got the book, very pleased with myself for spotting in, and by sheer chance, after we got out of Big W, Mum let EJ and I go into Angus & Robertson. Where I came quite possibly the closest I've ever been to a religious experience (I may be exaggerating there. But not much.)
I stared at 'And Another Thing...' the sixth book in the 'Hitchhiker's Guide' series even though Douglas Adams passed away in 2001 (Wikipedia explains it better than I could), written by Eoin Colfer, and 'And Another Thing...' stared back. I'm surprised I didn't drop to the ground on my knees. I picked up the book; and goggled at the price. $44, it was. I was in two minds about getting this book. On one hand, it was from 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. On the other hand, it was $44 (the fact that 'Genius Wars,' the end to the trilogy by Catherine Jinks, was out wasn't helping.). What ended up happening was that I figured that it would be cheaper in Dymocks, if they had it, but just in case they didn't, I made sure we could come back to Angus & Robertson. So we got to Dymocks, and because 'Genius Wars' was cheaper there, EJ bought that. I put the points on my Dymocks card, leaving me at $7 worth of points. 'And Another Thing...' was $40 at Dymocks, but I got it for $33, which for buying books is an acceptable price range. After we got that, we went happy, and I was quite happy with my day so far.
However, all good things must come to an end (this being a semi-accidental reference to this song), and when we got home, I had to study, as tomorrow is the Agriculture yearly, which I'm not too happy about. Mainly because it's bloody Ag, and Ag exams and I have never gotten along (as opposed to English exams, which was only really the half-yearly. Still, what a half-yearly it was...). So I studied for quite a while, but every so often, I sneaked a peek at 'And Another Thing...' which was the book I chose to read first. I really couldn't help it. Once I was done, I blogged for a while, trying to keep up with previous posts. It's hard. I tried to get a lot done, but I didn't get all of it done. So here I am.
And that was my Sunday. Again, sorry about the late post, it's mainly because of Saturday, and how it threw me all out of whack by putting me two posts behind instead of my usual one. Believe me, I'm trying to get back up, but with exams, I am having difficulties. Just bear with me and soon I'll be back up to schedule. Hopefully.

Many, Many Movies
Three, to be exact. Also, it's sort of an alliterative title. As well, it's sort of a sucky title. Ah well. These things happen. It was a Friday today, which means only the weekend now separates me from Term 4. Oh, well. It had to come around sometime. It's also my 250th post, which I don't really count as much of a blogging milestone, though it's worth noticing. So, to my day.
I woke up at about 8:45, and for a while I just watched TV and read. I did go on my laptop a bit, but really I didn't do much. At about 11:30, after messing around for a while, I decided to go into the lounge room with Dad and EJ, after Dad watched 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' as well, after we had bought it from Wednesday. He liked it, and after lunch, we all went back into the lounge room to watch a movie that we bought on Foxtel (because why not?). The movie was 'New In Town.' I wouldn't recommend watching it; the word 'formulaic' springs to mind. I don't want to sound like a tired old critic, but I guessed the ending pretty much before the first scene involving the protagonist was over. And I worked out who her love interest would be in his first scene. Quite frankly, don't watch this. At least 'Knowing' was worth watching, at least if not seriously. Sort of a 'so bad it's good' movie. 'New In Town' doesn't even get to that stage. About halfway through the movie, I actually gave up and started playing Battlefield Heroes (I got MG IV, which is 15 kills with a machine gun in one round. It was a very successful round.).
After the movie was finished, we decided to get another movie, which was 'Confessions of a Shopaholic.' Yes, it's a bit of a girly movie, but I still say it was a good movie. I would recommend this movie, even though it's a movie about shopping. I'm quite surprised it got negative reviews (although, the opinions of critics should really be taken with a grain of salt. 'Knowing' got fairly good reviews. Enough said.). By the time it ended (and I wasn't gaming while watching), it was about 4:30. And about one and a half hours later, after Mum had gotten home and we'd packed up, we left for Shay's place.
I hadn't seen Shay in a while, on account of her quitting hapkido and school and that type of thin. So we caught up (she got me to show her some of the new orange belt techniques. It's fun teaching people techniques.) by heading off to the local shops, mainly because Jo wanted lemonade for mixing a drink. We walked and talked, going on about friends at school and a lot of other random stuff. When we got back, we got dinner, and eventually everyone except EJ and Lachlan settled down to watching another movie that was on TV: 'Love Actually.' I've heard of it, but I've never actually watched it before. I would also recommend it, though I'll have to see it again later. I also found out that night that the Gunner guide that I wrote was featured on the front page of Battlefield Heroes! That was good. But, I did not get to post, as I was at Shay's. So here I am.
And that was my day. I'm sort of getting up to schedule, although it might take a bit. I'm sorta hoping I can take a day off just to get back. I would really love to. Also, it's finally a fairly long post, which I like as the last few have been something like 500 words.
Happy 250th post,

I wouldn't recommend watching it; the word 'formulaic' springs to mind.

Shop 'Til You Stop
Yes, I suppose this is a little play on words. Not as good as the other one, I think, but I still like it. It's also a bit of a tautology, which I love, because it makes you a double-take (I mean, of course you shop until you stop! Or, does the stopping rule out the until... see, stuff like that can make you think.). Anyway. Yes, it's a late post again, and I'm not going to blame anyone. Except society.
I was gotten up at around 8, as we had stuff that needed to be done in the day. At around 9, after getting ready for the day, we went out to go shopping. Now, as I so love to do, I brought my iPod. I try to put this in if I'm doing something else which doesn't involve much thinking, and more doing. In shopping, for example, all I really did was walk around. So I decided to get out my iPod, and listen to who other than Tom Lehrer. Soon I will probably become bored of it, like I did with Queen (that's not to say that it will become bad, but I'll be able to sing all of it off by heart, and something else will come along. Still good, though: I'm not saying Queen is bad, god no. Queen is epic.). So for something like one and a half hours, I walked around, mouthing the words of many songs, getting strange looks from at least one person, possibly others. But I only noticed the one person (most people don't seem to understand, I've noticed, me mouthing the words. I figure that I love to sing along, but I'm a bad singer. So I compromise. Anyway.). We got home at about 10:30.
When I did get home, I decided I would play some Battlefield Heroes, as I hadn't played any at all yesterday. I played for about one or two hours. In one memorable occasion, the top three players in the National team (I was one of them) towered above the rest, getting a total of 42 kills (42! It lives!) and 10 deaths, and over 7000 points. Yes, we won that round. I got 15-2, and one of those was a double death, in that the guy I was shooting and I both died at the same time. I finished up at about lunch time, and after that, I worked a little on Scratch and watched TV. At around 3, we had to move the garbage that we moved into the garage on Sunday out to the front yard for the council to pick up. Then, Mum told us something: the council would only pick up so much (it's by volume, not by mass). It was slightly annoying, but partially understandable. I say partially because if we had just a little more (or so I was told), then they wouldn't pick it up. And they only have two pick-ups a year. Is that a little ridiculous? Yes. Anyway. So we put down what we could, and the rest was taken back around to behind the house. And so essentially the rest of the night, I blogged, as well as doing some study (yes, it begins. The yearlies start on the second day back, after all.).
Comments now, 1 from Ebony.
*Ebony: By you, I meant the hypothetical you who gets up at 2 in the afternoon, who I still say is crazy. And only a small amount of talking to Victor? I would have guessed it'd be a lot (lol). Also iPod listening is not time wasting. Garbage moving did serve a purpose.
And that was my day. It does seem that comments are starting up again, doesn't it? Although this time around, I won't take them for granted. Also, I'm messing with titles a bit, as I'm trying to avoid using alliteration. I hope it's working.
Maybe it's the stopping that makes the 'until' redundant, though it's still confusing,

Books and Board Games
Ah well, back to the days of alliterative titles. This one is fairly straight forward, in that books were involved (more than usual I mean; we went book shopping, my favourite kind of shopping), and EJ and I played board games. Which is rather unusual, but we did. Hmm. Anyway, to my day.
I was woken up at around 8:00, as there, unfortunately (or not so unfortunately; we were doing something good, I suppose.), were things to be done in the day. And so, to that end, after getting ready for the day, we headed off to Westfields. Mum had to go and do some stuff (clothes and that type of thing; nothing particularly interesting), but EJ and I were allowed to go into Dymocks and get some books. Now, in case I haven't already mentioned this (and I'm mentioning it now, just in case), Dymocks is quite possibly the best bookshop in the whole of Westfields. There is also an Angus & Robertson, but their prices are higher and they have barely any physics books, although their range otherwise is slightly higher (but only slightly). So Dymocks it is (Borders is amazing, of course, with two floors of books and very reasonable prices, but the problem is it isn't in Westfields. I might live in there otherwise.). We spent quite a while in there, with EJ finding something like $80 worth of books (he originally had $100, but he was getting one of them for Christmas), due to the fact that he has many series (is series the plural of series?) of books and they have books coming out very quickly. Me, I mainly have authors, and they don't publish books that often (though I am looking out for the new Matthew Reilly book, and the new Hitchhiker's Guide book by Eoin Colfer. I'm not sure whether he'll be as good as Douglas Adams, but I'm still getting it.). However, I did still buy a book: 'The Colour of Magic' by Terry Pratchett. I hear he's good, and I decided I would try him out.
After buying, Mum got here, and we then went into Spotlight to get some stuff. Once that was done, we had a quick look inside Angus & Robertson (we didn't get anything), and we headed home. When we got home, it was about time for lunch, and I decided to play Monopoly with EJ (there was an Xbox 360 at the house back in Canberra, and EJ played a game on there a lot, which was a virtual Monopoly game). We played for something like 2 hours, until I started to get bored. That's a problem with Monopoly: it can just go for ages and ages. So we packed that up, and I then adjourned to my room to blog, as well as do some of my assignment (Science assignments...). I got through Sunday's and Monday's post and thus published every single post from Friday through to Monday (I wanted to put it all out there in one big hit; I don't know why). To end the day, I read some, but didn't get to post for today. So here I am.
That was my Tuesday. Sorry about the late post; blame a back-up of posts as well as hapkido. Society works too. Anyway. I will see if I can get my schedule back, but we'll have to see. Holiday procrastination may kick in.

Floriade, The Festival of Flowers
That's right, I refer to Floriade (doesn't that sound like a Pokemon? I choose you, Floriade! Anyway. Enough of my nerd-like ways.), which is, according to Wikipedia, is gigantic for tourism in the ACT (proof). I have actually never heard of it, but Mum and Nanny have. What it is, in essentials, is an annual festival where they plant flowers in patterns, as well as having other stalls. I know that sounds bad, but it wasn't a really good explanation. Anyway. Yes, it is also an alliterative title, and I'm not especially happy with it, as I was with the last two. Well, without further ado (and I am going on a tangent a bit here), to my Sunday.
I got up at around 7, and got ready for the day (by 7, I think I'm referring to the new time, what with daylight savings and all. But I can't really be certain.). We left at about 8, and when I got out of the car, I noticed something: it was freezing. In hindsight, yes, I should have expected this (it is Canberra, after all), but I kinda figured it was spring and the sun should be out. But I was wrong, and it was cold. We waited for about 30 minutes, and then we went in. We first had a look at some stalls, and then we went to see the flowers. I wasn't particularly impressed, as I just saw the different coloured flowers (at which point I was thinking: 'Oh. Flowers. When are we leaving?'). However, after staring at the flowers and their corresponding signs (they had signs next to the groups of flowers), it gradually dawned on me: they were planted to make things (TV Tropes might call it Fridge Brilliance). They had a chessboard; an eye; a yin-yang symbol... from then on, the visit to Floriade got a lot better.
However, it started to rain, of course. Not pelting down, but not sprinkling either. That rain that you can bear, but only just. We did find some other exhibits, as it transpired that it was not just a flower show. We saw some bonsais (as in, the plural of bonsai. It looks weird in plural.); and they were pretty damn good. Not like the one I got a few years ago, in Japanese, which was 5 cm tall and got eaten by the dog. We also made a detour, after getting something to drink, to a Nintendo stall, which turned out to be a tent full of Wiis (again, the plural of Wii). It turned out that they had Mario Kart on the Wii, and of course, EJ and I had to play. I am proud to say that out of the three games we played, I came first out of 15 players (one of them EJ, one of them me, the rest computer) three times. After that, we went to a sports thing, which turned out to be a Little Athletics thing. Or at least some sort of athletics-type obstacle course for little kids. EJ, being EJ, goes 'That's easy!' and tries it. With hilarious results. He was going well until he tried to jump over some bars. He jumped on the third-last one, fell over the next one, and with a thud, came to earth with the last bar over him. It was hilarious. What made it even funnier is that immediately after, a 2 or 3 year old kid did with apparent ease. It totally made the trip worth it. We then bought some stuff (EJ bought a skull stamp and 4 of these long lollies. I got one as well, because I figured while I was there I might as well.), and went home, but not after stopping by the local shops to pick some stuff up.
About an hour after we got home (which was mainly spent reading), Uncle Nudge and his daughter Darcie (I have been referring to her previously as 'Darcy,' as I've never seen it spelt. I shall attempt from now on to write it as 'Darcie,' but no promises.) got home. So we played with her as a while (you really can't help yourself sometimes), and then the NRL came on. Everybody else began to watch it (even EJ!), so I was able to go on my laptop and do stuff for a while. It was mostly Spore, but it was more fun than watching the rugby. And for the rest of the night, I mostly just watched TV and went on my laptop.
And that was my day. Sorry about the late post yet again, but, well, I'm sure I've explained this before already. Anyway. I am going to attempt to really get back on track, but nothing's certain. Anything can happen.

O Canberra
I reference the anthem 'O Canada,' which is the national anthem of Canada (there's a shock). I don't exactly know why I referenced it, other than to make (in my mind, at least) a clever title. Anyway. Enough justification; we drove to Canberra; this much is obvious. So, without further ado, to my day.
I woke up at around 7:30, and as we had packed clothes the last night, I wasn't in any particular hurry to get ready. However, predictably, time crept on me, until it was 8:30-ish and I hadn't even packed my laptop (why do I do this?). So I rushed around, putting together my laptop, books I was going to read (I think I brought four. Yes, four.), some of the materials for writing my book, as well as an assortment of other such items, like my iPod, portable radio and DS. When I go somewhere, I am prepared for almost any eventuality. So after Nanny got here (as she and Mum wanted to see this place called Floriade; more on that next post), we set off on the road to Canberra.
The whole trip took 2 and a half hours, and Mum, EJ, Nanny and I all entertained ourselves in our own ways. Mum and Nanny listened to Robbie Williams (of course) and talked; EJ read and played his DS (I think, not entirely sure); and I read Harry Potter 6, and then moved on to 7. That took up pretty much the entire car ride, really. I was going to play DS halfway through, to EJ's persistence, but it ran out of power and died about 3 minutes after I started to play it. Ah well. When we got to my Dad's place, we unpacked, and then we went out to get lunch. Lunch was chips and juice, although it took a few goes to get unexpired juice. We then decided to take a trip to the War Memorial.
We didn't do too much there, as we'd pretty much seen most of it. But we did go to show Nanny our relative (on Dad's side, so not related by blood to Nanny) who had died at Gallipoli: Angus Valentine Cameron, known to the Memorial as Angus Cameron (how do I know this? It was at the last time I was at the War Memorial, April 21. I do so love how I can do that now; my blog is like an extension of my memory.). EJ prompted a classic blonde moment by going 'Here he is!' I replied, 'Those are the "L"s, EJ.' Funny (turns out he was looking for our last name. Still funny, though.). We then went to the shops, and came home, where we stayed. There, my fears were confirmed: there would be no internet for the entire weekend. And that is why the posts are late. So for the rest of the night, I made some stuff on Spore, blogged a bit, and watched the movie that was on TV: 'The Incredibles.' It may be a kids movie, but it's good (Pixar movies are always good. Always. It's difficult saying the best, but 'Wall-E' would definitely be up there.).
And that was the first day in Canberra. Tomorrow's post may be a bit longer, because we went out for longer. Lateness would usually get a mention here, but I think I've covered it. Anyway. Soon I'll get back to schedule; it'll be hard, but I'll try.

Shopping and Shay's
What? I haven't used this title? I have now! Anyway. I went shopping, and I went to Shay's. I also did other things. Titles aren't perfect, folks. Otherwise, there wouldn't be all that complaining recently. Ah well. To my day, as I'm rapidly running out of ideas for this opening paragraph, at least for today.
I was woken up at 8, and I was still half-asleep 45 minutes later. I just hadn't had enough sleep. But at 8:30, we left for McDonalds, where we saw a familiar face: none other than Shaylee. None of us had any idea that she was working there (I didn't, at least), but we said hello. Or, rather, I waved, and she tried to avoid anyone realising that we knew each other. Though that's probably the wisest thing: EJ was in his skeleton jacket, and he was getting stares. Shay herself was on the hash browns, and so we had some of them, as well as hotcakes and Maccas orange juice. We then went to our grandparents' place, as Dad had to fix Poppa's computer. I spent basically the entire time playing Scrabble, and reading my book. We were supposed to have left our grandparents' place, gone to the shops, then left the shops and be back at home by midday. We left at 12:15, thus utterly throwing us off schedule.
On the drive to Westfields, Dad told us a little surprise he had been saving: with the money our parents had got back from tax (eight thousand dollars, give or take. I think.), they would give EJ and I both $100 (I got an extra $30 for boundary running over the past few weeks), and said we could spend it on whatever we want. EJ found 3 games in JB Hi-Fi, and was already in debt 15 minutes in (he spent $103 on games). I myself travelled far and wide, from Dymocks to Angus & Robertson, but alas, there were no physics books in stock. Not even a really expensive one that I could now afford. There was one big mathematics book, but I opened it and I couldn't understand half of it. So I put it down. And I couldn't really find anything else, unfortunately so I left Westfields at around 3:15 with nothing but a heavier wallet. We got home at about 3:30, and we got a call from Michael that we were having a spontaneous barbecue (as in, 'You know what? Let's have a barbecue!') with them. So we left at 5, with my blogging sadly uncompleted. We did many things, including bouncing on the trampoline, watching the Bombers-Dockers game (yes, Essendon beat first one week, then lost to second-last the next), and talked about all manner of things. We got home at about 7:30, and I made a quick dash to blog about Saturday. It's been very rush-rush this weekend.
And as there are no comments, this shall be my last paragraph. I'd like to take some time here to apologise for the very late post; I am going to catch up for Thursday. I can't miss my 200th post because I've been caught up, dammit! So expect a post on time some time soon.

AFL, British Comedy
Or, ABC (see that's clever. Sorta. Maybe not funny though. Also uncreative. Ah well.). The AFL is self-explanatory (it's Saturday), but the British Comedy takes some explaining. I'll get to that. And yes, it's a late post, blame post procrastination. And society.
I woke up around 8, and until we left for my brother's footy game, we watched more 'Seinfeld.' Very funny episodes ensued. We'll watch more later. We left at about 9:30, and on the way there I read my New Scientist magazine. At around 10, the game started, and it ended up that the wind was facing my direction, which meant more throw-ins for me. A lot more throw-ins. I counted at least 5 in the first quarter, and I lost track soon after. The actual game ended up in EJ's team kicking ass, by about 60 points by the end. They started really taking control in the last quarter. Nathan (I think that's his name) also got hurt, but I'm not sure how badly: He was on the mark as one of the opposition was kicking, and the guy miskicked. Directly into Nathan's head. The power was unchanged. In other words: ow. I couldn't do anything, as I was boundary running, but as soon as a goal was kicked, I rushed over to help. He didn't look too injured, but he very well could have been.
After the game, we all went to Macarthur Square, so that we could do some shopping. EJ picked up a Harry Potter game, and I found a Monty Python (The British comedy strikes) CD for $9 (It's $17 on iTunes. Hooray for bargains!). It's called Monty Python Sings, and it has several hilarious songs on it, including 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,' 'The Lumberjack Song' and 'Bruces' Philosophers Song.' All songs that I highly recommend from the CD, to name just 3. After we'd got that, I got a Boost Juice (which wasn't bad. Which is something I can't say about EJ's. It had melon it. Eurgh.). We got home around 2:30, and I promptly blogged and listened to all the songs. There are really good ones on there. Funny, catchy... Monty Python in a nutshell really. Once that was done, I talked on MSN, as well as watching a bit more of 'Seinfeld.' We also watched the end of the Swans-Saints game (I reckon the Saints were lucky to get away with a 1 point win). I went to bed around 10-ish.
And as there are no comments (again!), this'll be the last paragraph. Sorry about the late post and the very short post, not much happened today. Well, not much I could blog about in detail. Ah well, stuff happens, hey? Expect another short post on Sunday, even less happened. Although hopefully I'll be able to remember more details and make it a bit longer than it would be if I hadn't. I shall end with a quote, as I haven't done that in a while. A Monty Python quote, of course.

Farewell, Holidays
Yes, today was the last day of holidays, and tomorrow is the start of term. My brother goes back on Tuesday, but us Hurlstonians go back on the Monday. Ah well. It'll be nice to see people again. In news today, I went to the markets with my grandparents today, as well as played chess and Scrabble and so forth. And because of a lot of things, expect a late-ish post. And maybe a longer one as well. Or, maybe short. Could go either way, really.
I got up around 8, and then went to have breakfast. Around 9, we left my grandparents' house, and after a long car trip of about half an hour in which I read my book, we got to the Market. We started by passing by the fruit and veg stalls, and went to the clothes section. On Friday, Nanny had told EJ of a jacket she had seen at the Market, so we went to get that. The jacket had a skeleton on it, and the hood could zip up all the way, and was a skull. So, as you can imagine, EJ immediately found the size and bought the jacket. My guess is that he will now wear it as much as he possibly can. He likes skulls that way. When that happened, I decided to listen to my iPod, as there was not much else to do. So, until about 10:30, we walked around the shops, and I listened to my music. We then loaded 40 kilograms of carrots and two boxes of apples onto the car, and set off. We arrived at our grandparents' place at around 11.
While there, we played a few games of Scrabble (I'm OK at it; better than I am at chess, at any rate), and watched some 'Seinfeld.' Mum and Dad came by at about midday, as did Aunty Karen and Uncle Jason, by sheer coincidence. We left about 15 minutes later. When we got back home, I went to catch up on stuff I couldn't do at Nanny and Poppa's, Dad went to a meeting and Mum and EJ went shopping for lunch, leaving at about 1. They got home around 2. So, for the rest of the night, I played chess, winning one and losing another (He tricked me with a Scholar's Mate. I didn't even know he knew what it was); watched Seinfeld (it's getting good), chatted on MSN, listened to music, read and blogged. However, I lost track of time, and I didn't get to blog in time. So here I am.
And there are no comments. Unsurprising, considering when I posted, but I'd still like some. Ah well. Maybe for this post. Anyway. For this post, it is the last paragraph (Captain Obvious to the rescue!); and hopefully, the last (avoidable, anyway) late post, since school imposes a schedule on blogging. Imposes a schedule on a lot of things, really. Tomorrow's post should be longer, and most likely on time.

These Annoying Assignments
And how! Yes, today I started my English speech on 'Animal Farm,' although I did watch movies and the footy in-between. But, yeah. I started the speech. I got something like 2 minutes into the speech, which is pretty good for a 4 to 5 minute speech. I also fleshed out the main ideas for the speech. Well, let's see my day, shall we? (Yes, it's an incredibly late post, I know. Nature conspired against me.)
I woke up around 8, as usual, and Dad, EJ and I all went to Westfields to get breakfast, for no reason apart from that we could. We first dropped by JB Hi-Fi to get seasons 3 and 4 of 'Seinfeld' (which I plan to watch at my grandparents' place tomorrow), and then we went to get some pancakes from McDonalds. However, they ran out (seriously, how can McDonalds run out of pancakes at 9:30 in the morning?), so we went and got some bacon burgers from Oporto. And as they screwed up our order, we got complementary chocolate mousse. So a pretty good day out at the shops. We got home around 10:15, and we promptly went out to put the washing. While out there, Nanny and Poppa stopped by, and Nanny helped us out.
Around 12, I started to work on my English speech after blogging about Thursday, as I figured I needed to get to work on it. About an hour later, however, Dad pulled me out to watch a movie he had bought on Foxtel, 'Seven Pounds' (which you may remember from this post). While I was watching the movie, I scanned my computer, and synced my iPod, after getting a song from Cam. It was pretty good, although it takes a while before you work out who is doing what and why. In the end, though, it makes sense and everything fits together. I'd recommend it. I got back to my laptop around 4, and then went to finish off the part of my speech I was doing. I've got a good thing going, so I'll do some more later.
After dinner, I went to watch the Blues-Magpies game. I had tipped Carlton to win by 2, because I was optimistic about their chances. But I don't think anyone expected the actual result. Carlton ended up losing by 54 points, with the final score being 40-94. Carlton's in-depth result: 4 goals and 16 behinds. Fevola only got 1 goal. By the fourth quarter, we were just going through the motions. I ended up playing some Battlefield Heroes by the end of it. I went to bed around 10.
To comments now, 1 from 1 person.
*Anon: It's official; I give up. Every line is coded differently, I got maybe 25% decoded, and if it's polyalphabetic like I suspect, there's no way I can get it. Monoalphabetic seems impossible. You win. Give us a few hints though, maybe I can decoded it if I can understand how it's encoded (Vigenere Square? Caesar Shift?).
And that was my Friday. Sorry about the incredibly late post, everything just seemed to team up to stop me posting. (society is to blame, of course). But, not me, I will post regardless. Expect a longer post about Saturday: I actually did stuff.

It's the End of a Few Things as We Know Them
And I Feel Fine... OK, I have 'It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine) caught in my head. And not the REM original; the Great Big Sea remake (yes, I said Great Big Sea. Cameron would be laughing his head off if he found out, as he has been going on about this band for ages. Luckily, he doesn't read my blog.). But you know what? I like their version better. It's faster, and it's catchier. But that's my opinion. Anyway (as I just went on a huge rant there)! The things ended were my current hair style (please note: style is being used loosely), the book I was reading and the webcomic Circle Versus Square. Now, after all that, to my day, after this long, long, long first paragraph.
I woke up around 8, and about 9, Mum, EJ and I all went down to Hammondville Shops, as Mum decided we (me and EJ) would get haircuts. EJ doesn't really like getting haircuts, as he likes his hair long, and I don't really care, apart from the fact that I don't like taking time off to cut something like hair. It's only hair. Some people will avidly disagree with me here, but really, that's what I think. The haircuts took about 45 minutes in total, after which I came out of the store with a haircut similar to the one I had when I went in. But it was thinner, which is good for me. Anyway. After that, we went to the local shops, in which we went food shopping (I was going to say grocery shopping, but I didn't want to use a tired old Americanism). So while we were shopping, I just watched Abridged on my iPod. I love doing that.
When we got home, I did some work on my Ag assignment, as well as surfed Questionable Content (it's still funny). I also looked at a lot of the other webcomics I visit (xkcd, Dinosaur Comics, Circle Versus Square), when I came across the new CvS comic (if you read the first paragraph, you will see where this is going). And instead of a conclusion to the previous comic, there was a note saying how the comic is finished. Gone. A shame, too. I loved that comic. Lest we forget. Anyway. I also watched more 'Seinfeld,' and it is getting a lot better. I can't wait to see the rest, now. I went to bed around 10, after finishing 'The Mind of God.' I can't say I agree with its conclusion, but it was a good book.

Sports and Shopping
And I bet we can all guess exactly what sport I'm talking about (AFL. I'm talking about AFL.). Shopping was at Macarthur Square. OK, the title sucks, I know. You could blame me. Or, you could blame society. Personally, I prefer the latter.
I got up at about 7:30 (Shock! Horror! Something different!), and after we'd done everything to get ready, we all went out to Macarthur Square. It's a sort of tradition in our family that if you get a good report, we get a prize. And we were going to Borders to pick something out. After something like 2 hours in the store, trawling around for fairly priced Physics books, I picked out two books within the price range set: 'King Dork' by Frank Portman (which nobody has heard of and everybody should have) and 'Alyzon Whitestarr' by Isobelle Carmody (which looks pretty good, even if it doesn't have its own Wikipedia page). After we'd had a look in the shop and we'd bought the books we all wanted, we went shopping for some essentials, and to that end we split up. EJ went with Dad to go look at technology, and I went with Mum. Mainly because I know I could sit outside wherever she wanted to go and watch Yugioh Abridged on my iPod. Which I did, to great effect.
When we got home, we got some stuff together (aka, my laptop) to go to Shay's place to watch the Carlton-Sydney game. My Dad, being a bit of a smartass (it must be genetic) decided that we would go decked in as much Carlton gear as possible, to display our pro-Blues attitudes to Shay's family. So we pulled together as much uniforms as possible, as well as flags and hats and such. We got there around 1:30, and around 2, the game started. I spent the time in their loungeroom, watching the game and surfing Questionable Content. At this point, I could go through all about the game. But allow me just to condense it into a few sentences, that should hopefully convey the sense of the game. At quarter time, we were up by 3. At half time, we were down by 9. At three quarter time we were up by 9. By the end, we had won by 61 points. In short, we kicked ass in the last, say, 1.5 quarters. Here's a full summary of the game, if you want to have a look at it. We don't have the best run home, but if we do through all of the games what we did in the last quarter, we'll make the finals for the first time since 2001. Here's hoping. After the game, we got home, and we watched 'Eragon,' which EJ had bought at the shops. All in all, it was OK. If you don't compare it to the books, it's slightly confusing. If you do compare it to the books, you get really disappointed. I would say it's more inspired by the books than based upon. I went to bed around 11, after blogging.
To comments, now, 1 from The Anonymous Aeroplane (they need an acronym. Because they're awesome. Would you like to be Amp? Taa? Tap? Your choice here, Anonymous Aeroplane.).
*Anon: Yes, it's just you and me, as Ebony and Victor have gone on yet another utterly pointless strike. Thanks for the philosophy comment, although it doesn't compare to John's. That whole third paragraph was very confusing. Though I will agree with you: you sure are a lot of things.
And that was my Saturday. It's sorta funny how my brother doesn't play AFL, but we still do a lot of footy-related stuff. This is our family for you. We're very sport-centric here.
Finally, a day where we actually did something,

Finally, a day where we actually did something,

iTunes and TV Tropes
These are the two things that, arguably, featured most prominently in my day. Also I couldn't think of a better day. But that first one is my excuse. If worst comes to worst (i.e., getting copped out for not being creative with my titles), I can always blame society. Damn them.
I woke up around 8, and it took me 2 or so hours before I actually started doing stuff. This is my serial problem: procrastination. It gets way worse when I'm sick, because I have little energy. Usually, I surf the net when I procrastinate. When I'm feeling really unwell, I can't do that. Ah well. When I actually did start doing stuff, it was watching TV and doing some work on and off. Around 12, I started blogging. Which, in classic holiday-style, started off slow and proceeded at a snail's pace. It's true what they say: deadlines make everything go quicker. Nobody likes them, but everybody needs them. But, I digress. I then blogged and watched my brother play Xbox for a while.
Around 2, Mum, EJ and I all went to Casula Shops, and especially, K-mart. We were shopping around for books and music and such, on a 'why-not' impulse. I looked around for books, but I couldn't find good books. And I don't buy albums, not when I can get them off iTunes (I don't pirate). And so, to that end, I got myself a $30 iTunes voucher for my iPod. My brother got $50 worth of books, and he was planning to get another $50 game. But the store didn't have it. Ah well. We got home around 3:30, and for the rest of the night, I blogged, but mostly surfed the net. Specifically, I had a look at TV Tropes. I'm not entirely sure how I got on to the website, but I did. And it's completely true what xkcd says about it (as it always is): it's addictive. Same with Wikipedia. But, I'm off-topic. TV Tropes is insightful, clever, very hyperlink-prone, and has a lot of good pictures. Here's one of them (that's not the TV Tropes website, although it is the picture. My laptop is annoyed with TV Tropes for some reason). And that was my day.
To comments now, three from one, two or three people. It's sorta hard to tell. Really, I'm not sure.
*Anon: I've told him about the game, and he now really wants it. I actually think that Rome looks like a good game, but I get bored of RTS games pretty easily.
*Anon: I have no idea who you are. Seriously, I don't know, especially with the next comment.
*Victor: If you're not, you're not... then who is? And thanks for the 'I rarely even check your blog these days.' (That was sarcastic by the way.) Eh, who cares, it's my blog. The people might be here for it, but it's not here for the people. Of course that implies a lot of people look at it... OK, I'm way off topic here.
And that was my Thursday. Sorry again for the short-ish post. Tomorrow, I think, I will do a philosophical-type post; a post on how complex the world is, and how we don't even really notice. So, that will hopefully be good.

Work and Westfields
That being, I did work (specifically, the Ag assignment), and I went shopping. Hey, nobody said my titles had to be good. I really can't think of anything. Ah well. That happens.
I got up around 8, and about 45 minutes later, Mum, EJ and I all went to Westfields. Mum and EJ both wanted to see Ice Age 3, and I went along. We got into the movies around 9:30, and left around 2 hours later. The movie itself was pretty good, despite what a lot of people might think. As I've said before, accepting movies as they are and not what they could be is the key to liking a lot of movies that might otherwise be very bad (I still didn't like that 'Knowing' film. I accepted it for what it was and what it was was total crap.). I would recommend it if you can, like me, still enjoy kid's movies and not overanalyse things, as well as you liked the last Ice Age movies (although this one was more comedic than sentimental. Quite frankly, I didn't care.). If you didn't like the other movies, though, then you probably wouldn't like it. I did, at any rate.
After the movie, we went book-shopping, and I found this book called 'The Mind of God' by Paul Davies for $10. It looks like physics crossed with philosophy, and I picked it up straight away, as you'd probably expect. Judging by what I've read so far, it's pretty good, although some of the concepts are going way over my head (The universe has no specific beginning, but it doesn't stretch all the way back in time. Huh?) When I got home, I blogged, and did some work on my Ag assignment. When that was all done, I spent most of the rest of the day playing BFH.
It's Response Replying Time (I felt like something different)! 2 commenters, 2 comments.
*Ebony: Sure. You hold me to that. See if that works! Ciao indeed.
*Anon: Also, sure. Why not.
And that was my Tuesday. This post procrastination is becoming less annoying, probably for the reason that I'm used to it, and that I know I can stop it when I want (I actually can; the procrastination no longer goes until the following night). So, yeah. That was my day.
This second-last line is becoming a lot harder to write,
