I Am Not Backwards-Compatible

If you’re wondering what that means, then know that backwards-compatible means that technology can interface with older technology. What I’m trying to say is that I cannot function with little to no technology, specifically, the internet or my iPod. I’ll get to that. (I’m writing this on a Word document around quarter to 9 at my grandparents’ place. And they don’t have the internet. I feel so out of touch with the world.)

I woke up when my alarm went off, because I forgot to turn it off from yesterday. *sigh* I then promptly went back to sleep, until I woke up properly around 7:30, and went on my laptop for about 1 and a half hours. I went off my laptop when it was time for breakfast, and so forth. Then I had to pack to go to my grandparents’ house after my brother’s AFL game. Jo picked us up, and in the car, Shay and I listened to Abridged, because I had my iPod and she likes it (though not as much as me. As if that were possible.). At footy, I read ‘Breaking Dawn’ until it was time for my brother’s game, when Jo locked it in the car so I couldn’t read it. Then, when I got my iPod out, she spotted that too, and took it. So I hatched a plan to try to get it (which ended up failing/succeeding depending which way you look at it), which was sing until her eardrums bleed and she gives back my iPod. After Shay and I cut up the oranges (why? Because the person who brought them didn’t bother turning up and I’m the son of the manager and assistant coach. Of course.), and taking one for payment, Jo just gave me my iPod back. I don’t know why, but I wasn’t complaining. I spent the rest of the game playing Solitaire and listening to Queen (although that’s not the song stuck in my head. It’s ‘Black Betty’ by Spiderbait.). When we got home, I packed the rest of my stuff, and finished my cube puzzle for about the 5th time, because EJ just keeps destroying it. Luckily, I know the trick now (in fact I just disassembled and reassembled it again. I got bored.). After we got dropped off, I played two games of chess with my brother (the first I won, the second I lost after I made an error which cost me the game. Bugger.), and put on the TV. After that, things just started to slow down, with me reading and my brother going on my laptop and so forth. And I can’t go on the net any more, because something dropped out of range, so I’ll write this Saturday and post it Sunday. Don’t blame me.

Now to comments, and I got 4 from 2 people. 4. From 2 people. Why? Even AC didn’t comment. Bloody hell… (Everything after this point was written on Sunday. As usual, I’ll pretend I posted on Saturday.) Hopefully more people will comment this time around.
* Victor: First? Really? That’s it?
* Victor: No, that’s not it apparently. And it’s spelt w00t. Get it right. And yes, you lost a lot more at 13, and yes, my losses are more embarrassing. Stop bringing them up. Commenting on your own blog is cheating. I’m not going to back down on this.
* Shafi: A bit late there, though I did that too. And before I met Queen, Britney Spears was my favourite singer. I could sing ‘Oops, I Did It Again’ when I was 6 (though not well. Not much has changed.). And if you want to learn 13, it’s way easier to explain in person. We’ll teach you if you want to know. Yeah, that’s life. Bloody net.
* Shafi: LOL. He got there before you.

And I’ll end with that. I said I wanted to relax, and I am, but with no net, it’s bittersweet.

Be careful what you wish for; You just might get it,
AB

  1. But if you tell Victor that he's cheating at his own game, he'll just deduct points from you.

And at least your grandparents have a computer, which is more than I can say for mine. Although, I'd rather talk to them than use a computer anyways...

... I don't have an ipod, and I'm still alive (and awesome). Although, I listen to music/radio on my phone... Because, I used to have an mp3, but gave it to my dad in return for getting a new phone. Yes, my Dad has an mp3 player and I don't.
Then again, my Mum has facebook and I don't. I am continually outcooled by my parents.

Sorry for not commenting yesteerday. I was cleaning the house, oh the joys.

  3. Ebony's right, you know.

Say 'hello!' to another -1 on my blog.

    And just random hoo-hah:

'Black Betty' is not "by" Spiderbait in the strictest sense of the term (the earliest version found to be from 1933) but it was covered by them. And I must say it's a good cover.

  4. Black betty is an awesome song! Reminds me of year 9 camp and the sing off thing.

My grandparents are funny, my grandma swore once and it was hilarious. She makes me yummy food and always feeds me up with cookies and muffins.

To ebony - I am always cooler than my parents regardless (H) haha my dad has an iphone but I have an ipod, facebook, bebo, myspace, the lot :)

You have such eventful days AB, my weekends are spent lounging around sleeping until about 11. YAY to day light saving :)

  5. hi ab
i still haven't started my short story (due to unforseen circumstances)

About friday, i thought i was first but my comment took so long to write that victor managed to get two in before me, oh well.
how much memory does your ipod have?

It doesn't matter how many comments u get, its about how long it is and the different variety of people who wrote it.

What does lol mean again, i forgot again, all i think of is laughing over something.

Wow, can you really can't function without the net and your're ipod? (i'm going to make this comment huge to prove my point)

Is Hassium really an element? (saw it at the bottom)
