A Really Good Tuesday

Mainly because less than half the class was here, through a combination of practice for the musical, excursions, and just plain sickness. So we had to do less than half the work. I love bludging.

Period 1 was Geography, which was doing more work from the textbook. But, as I said, not many people were in class (about 13), so we didn't do much. Period 2 was Science, and as it was Period 2 on Tuesday, people were at Glenwood Reading. I remember when I was. Those poor souls. Anyway. So there were about 10 people. We did this test about reproduction. But as 10 people were there, Robson ended up giving us half of the answers. I absolutely suck on anatomy. Genetics I get. Anatomy I don't. Particularly plant anatomy. Anyway. Recess was the usual.

Period 3 was Ag, which was just me finishing off some work I hadn't done yet. When that was done, I read. Well, obviously. After that was PE, and Wilson didn't come. So, after about 15 minutes, Faulds came along. The work was NTR (copy stuff from the overhead), but the period was a good one. As everyone of Ebony's 'people' were away, she sat next to me, and we promptly got into an argument about how weird she is, that continues still. She insists that she is not that weird; I think that she is very weird. One example is the voices in her head. No, seriously. All 22 + 2 of them. The reasons behind it are very complex. Anyway. Lunch was a game of 13, that involved into throwing cards and shouting 'shuriken!' Why is a very good question.

Period 5 was Maths, and as 10 people were here (including Ihsas), we did some Year 11 Maths. Which turned out to be more complicated than it seemed. Last was Drama. I talked to Ebony on the way to the Art room, where we had Drama today (we had a sub). At one point, she stretched out her arms, and ran ahead, saying 'I'm an aeroplane!' And no, I'm not kidding. I claimed this as substantial, and possibly conclusive, evidence of her weirdness. At the Art room, there were 4 people: Ebony, Allie, me and the teacher. Later on, 3 others came, who I think were Shane, Kale and Tri (but don't quote me), for a total of 6 students and a sub. So for the class, we looked at all the art projects. I also did the Maths question from the last period.

When I got home, I blogged, but as usual I kept procrastinating and procrastinating. Things such as MSN and Monty Python got in the way. Both awesome things we're talking about here. If you don't have MSN, there's something wrong with you. If you don't like Monty Python, there's something really wrong with you. Just saying.

And that was Tuesday. A pretty good day overall, I'd say. I love when no work is done.

Less than half the people, less than half the work: I like the sound of that,

A Mixed Bag of a Monday

The good things have been really good, but the bad things have been really bad. My Mum's sick, EJ has been revealed to have horrible posture and needs to do core strengthening exercises for the rest of his life (I'm probably not exaggerating here. If I am, it's not intentional.), and worst of all, Nanny and Poppa's dog, Jack, has had to be put down. No, I'm not kidding. Can we all, in complete seriousness, have a moment of silence? ...Thank you. Now, if we can turn to more pleasant matters, to my Monday.

Before school, I watched some TV, and did a small amount of blogging. Period 1 was Science, which was doing some work from the textbook, for the first time in weeks. Maybe even months. A long time, in any case. Wasn't hard work, so much as work. Next was Geo, which was doing a quiz on the geography of South-East Asia. I got 29/33, as I forgot the capitals of the Philippines (Manila), Sri Lanka (Colombo) and Vietnam (I put Ho Chi Minh instead of Hanoi. So did the teacher), and the sea west of India (Arabian). We then did some more work from the textbook. Recess was 13, as usual.

Period 3 was English, which was kind of a weird period. At one point, Hancock left to go do some stuff, and Andrew asked Nancy for food (why is a good question). So she handed some Asian biscuits around. I had one. Big mistake. The taste went something like: Yeah, these are good!; What's that taste coming on?; I'm starting to regret this...; Eurgh! And to top it off, there were some crumbs caught in the braces. I had a horrible faint taste in my mouth for hours. Period 4 was Maths, which was doing some more work from the textbook. Notice how "work from the textbook" has been used three times now (well, four, but that last one doesn't count). That was very annoying. Lunch was more 13.

Period 5 was Drama, in which, as Kolodziej was down with the cast of the Hurlstone musical, we had a sub, Pollock. We also did some work on advertising, and we had to draw our own ad. Let me say one thing: It's a good thing I don't do Art. I made this ad about 'extreme mineral water' called H2Go! (yes, with an exclamation mark). I really couldn't think of anything else; I got the inspiration from a water bottle on Amy's desk. I also arranged to borrow a book from Pollock after he saw 'Uncle Tungsten' on my desk, and said he had a book by the same author, Oliver Sacks. In Period 6, Commerce, we were in one of the computer rooms, and we were essentially copying stuff from a news article into our books. It wasn't just that, of course, but it was essentially that. Dad then picked me up, and we went down to Wattle Grove Shops and had some afternoon tea. Then around 7, I left for hapkido.

Shay didn't come because she was sick (it seems to be going around), so I went by myself. But it was a really good lesson. There was this black belt that hadn't come to lessons for a while, and I ended up being partnered with her. So get this: I had to show her how to do basic evasion. Me, a white belt, showing a black belt how to do an evasion in hapkido. It was just not how it was supposed to be done. Grandmaster Geoff also showed how to beat force using a few simple tricks. So when I got home, I decided to use one on Dad; in an arm wrestle. I beat him. His expression after I had beat him was priceless. And I ended my day blogging about Sunday, because that's exactly the kind if trouble I'm in.

And that was my Monday. Until I get a good solid day of blogging in, I'm not going to be able to catch up quickly. So the label 'late post' is hereby eliminated. I've had enough of it. Say goodbye to 'late post.'

Mondays, Mondays,

Give Me A Break

It's just insane. I have been working practically non stop since about 2. And before then, I did basically nothing. Not relaxing, but just nothing. These things happen, I know, but... anyway. All to be explained. Maybe my really relaxing weekend will be next weekend. Or maybe the holidays. And late post again. Guess who I blame! (And the answer is society, folks!)

I woke up around 7-ish, and then went on my DS for a bit. I also went on my laptop, and finished up Friday's post. Then around 9:30-ish, after some time on my laptop, watching TV and so on, I was picked up. At home, I messed around for a bit, doing bits and pieces without really doing anything at all. I blogged a little, and helped EJ out with his game. Around 1:30, Dad, EJ and I left to get lunch. And that's when all the work started.

Once I got home, around 2, we had lunch (mmm, fish cocktails, scallops and chips...), and then I had to go and do the kitchen. This in itself would not be too bad, although it was a bit of an annoyance. Soon, we were all getting into the folding, and the kitchen had to be put on hold. So when the folding was done, it was back to the kitchen. Then back to the folding again. Finally, it was back to the kitchen, and I was finished. Or so I thought. Time for ironing.

If there is one chore I hate most of all, it is ironing. The kitchen serves an obvious purpose, and doesn't involve all that much concentration. Ditto for folding. Cooking involves a lot of concentration, but you get to smell the food. Cleaning a room involves very little concentration, and you can listen to the radio. So on and so forth. You get the picture. Point is, I hate ironing. With a passion. So after that half an hour of torture, I went back to my laptop, and tried to blog. I did finish, but only after dinner and the kitchen, and seemingly endless distractions. But I finally finished.... Saturday's post. And I got about 3 lines of Sunday's post done. A blogger's work is never done. But it's still enjoyable, if annoying once a schedule is thrown out of whack.

And there ends the weekend. It wasn't a relaxing one, I'll admit, but it wasn't not relaxing. Granted, there was a lot of work for a Sunday, but it was still, if you take some time to think about it, a good day. But only really because it was, in fact, a Sunday. The weekend counts for something.

I think my blogging gap is finally starting to close up,

Almost, But Not Quite, A Very Good Day

That was a Douglas Adams quote, for all those who didn't recognise it. Which is probably most of you. Anyway. The point is that it was almost a really awesome day. Late post, by the way. Of course. The whole 'no blogging on Friday' and 'goddamn History assignment on Thursday' really threw off my schedule. So expect a late post for Sunday. Maybe.

I woke up at quarter to bloody 6, and then took an hour to get back to sleep. Luckily, I actually did get back to sleep, and woke up around 7:45. Before my brother's footy game, I finished off Thursday's post (yeah). At the ground, I traded with a kid on my brother's team, Billy (who will be making another appearance in this post shortly). I then staked my claim for the boundary side (not on the far side, for obvious reasons). When it was time for the game, my brother's opposition were short one, so the coach gave them Billy (told you). I swear, Billy will represent something sporty an adult. He kicks almighty ass in AFL (as you'll see). And he's a black belt. Of course.

I won't provide a play by play summary of the game, but I'll give a gist of the game. In Quarter 1 there was no score. At all. By either team. The quarter went something like: Kick to Tigers half-forward line. Billy (playing for the opposition, Ingleburn) marks it and kicks it to the centre. Ingleburn centres relay it to the forward line, who can't do a thing. Tigers take the ball and get it to their half-forward line. And so on and so forth for the whole quarter. Which was annoying for me, as I had to run back and forth for the whole time. Quarter 2, the Tigers found a way to combat Billy: Kick it away from him. And even that didn't work half the time. Quarter 3 they took Billy back, and the defence he provided quickly became an attack. Suffice to say by the end of the game they won by 50-something points. They could have won by over 60, but they ain't perfect.

After the game, I went to the canteen (mmm, sausage roll and tomato sauce...). At home, I packed for my grandparents' house, and we set off. There, I played some DS, as well as played a game of chess with my brother. I'm not great at chess, and I ended up surrendering after a play backfired on me and I had to backpedal as fast as I could. Bugger. I then went on my laptop, as well as watched TV. We watched 'Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl,' (it never gets old), and my brother wanted to watch Blackadder. I've said it before and I'll say it again: no comedy beats British comedy. So for the rest of the night, that's what I did, as well as posting about Friday. But I didn't get to post about Saturday, so here I am.

And that was my day. As you can see, it was a pretty good day, but it could have been a little better. Still, no day's perfect.

I'm catching up with my schedule,

Friggin' Friday

Surprisingly, it was a Friday that was not particularly good or relieving. It was just one of those days. It just had to be a Friday. Bugger. But the weekend should be a relaxing one. Also a late post. Because, you know, that happens. You know who to blame (society!)

Before school, I dropped by the library, and printed out my Commerce assignment so far. When I got to talk to the people at the table, I was struck: The people there, in full, were Andy, Ebony and Victor. It quickly turned out that Cameron, Eric and Mango were doing sound and lighting, and John was sick. I think Ian and Shafi were sick as well, but I'm not sure. They were away, at least. Period 1 was Ag, and Schippers was away. So we had Contado again. We had her in Period 6 yesterday. I finished off the sheet, then finished off the period by doing basically nothing. Period 2 was Geography, in which we handed in our assignments, thus ending an era of a seemingly endless amount of work. Recess was 13 with Andy, Victor and Ebony. We also played some games of 1, and of 5. The most rigged hands of 5: Andy's quad 4, and Victor's bomb.

Period 3 was Maths, which started off doing some actual work, and ended up listening to a song, and watching a presentation of it, called 'That's Mathematics!' By, get this: Tom Lehrer. Further proof of Lehrer's awesomeness. I've read him in several books, and heard his songs in Science and Maths. I love when my ideas of awesomeness are backed up by other people (see end of this post for a comment reply for proof that it actually does happen). Period 4 was Science, in which we marked a sheet we did for homework. Lunch wasn't cards, and more surprisingly, I didn't feel like playing 13. I talked to Victor, and did a few Monty Python quotes, and talked about my GBA game. I enjoy being a nerd.

Period 5 was Commerce, in which Andrew and I told the class about our assignment. In effect, we read from a sheet. The whole class was a bludge, as Commerce classes have quickly become. Lastly was English, in which we did more work on 'Animal Farm.' Tiana also proved to the class and the teacher that she had not read the book by asking the class, 'Who's Napoleon?' Napoleon is the main character in the book. That's like reading 'Harry Potter,' and saying: 'Now who's this Voldemort guy?' When the bell went, I took the train to the station. And that's where the trouble began. Suffice to say after a long series of extremely unfortunate events (which I shall not get into), I didn't get my laptop back until 9:30-ish.

To comments now, one from one person.
*Ebony: I am going to blog about every day. Stop telling me how to blog. And you have just proven that you saw it by saying that you can back me up. Hehehe. And I told you Holy Grail was awesome. Everyone who sees Holy Grail agrees it is awesome.

And, well, that was my Friday. The weekend looks promising; with no assignments, I will be very relaxed. Oh, how I have waited for this.

Late posts, late posts,

Good Luck, Bad Luck

Any other day, this title would be somewhat of a rant about how I had way, way too much work after school (4 hours! Bloody History assignment...). But I had very good luck at school today. So it was a bit of a mixed bag today. And, yes, it is a late post, as usual. History assignment strikes. As well as a few other things.

Before school, I blogged, but I could not finish in time. Period 1 was English, which wasn't doing much at all. Just more work on Animal Farm. Bludging ahoy! Period 2 was Maths, in which we were called up to the board to work out various geometric proofs. It sounds a lot of work, but really it wasn't. It was just another day in A1. Pretty boring. You can guess what Recess was.

Period 3 was Drama, which was talking about our new topic, advertising. Which sounds exactly like something we should be doing in Commerce. Commerce is money, not law. Legal Studies is law. Advertising is money. Making a Bill into an Act is not. I spent most of the period talking to Cameron and messing around on my calculator. Period 4 was Commerce, and as Kearney was away, we had Blake instead (I forgot how awesome she was). For the first half of the lesson, I did a sheet. That was very straight-forward, so for the rest of the lesson, I listened to my iPod and played my GBA, which I have started to take to school. I brought it yesterday, but I forgot to blog about it. I love utter bludges.

Lunch was more 13. At one point, it degenerated into a throwing of cards at each other. For some reason. That's funny, because whenever Andy does it, he says 'Shuriken!', and then proceeds to miss. Periods 5 and 6 were PE, which was pretty boring. Period 5 was some sort of soccer game, at which I sucked. I was yelled at about 5 times for kicking it high. I'd like to set the record straight: I'm not trying to get it high. I tried to kick it along the ground. There is a reason I don't play soccer (I work best at goalie, where I can pick it up and kick it.). Period 6 was basketball, in which we played basketball. I was the source of fun (for me and everyone else), as when it came to playing, I was good (I could dribble and run fairly well), but when I went to put the ball in the hoop, I could not get it in. I got it in once, after I was directly under the hoop and I already missed one. So Estelle and Matthew spent 20 minutes trying to show me how to throw the ball. From 20 tries, I probably got it in once. Towards the end, I decided I wanted to have one last shot at a hoop. This bit deserves its own paragraph.

OK, there are two hoops in the hall, the lower one near the bavk, which is probably something like 2 metres off the ground, and the higher one near the front, which at a guess is about 4.5 metres off the ground. I thought to myself: 'Well, if I'm not gonna get the low one, I might as well not get the high one.' I took the ball and positioned myself directly in front of the hoop. I took brief aim and threw. The ball traced a gentle arc through the air, and went directly through the middle of the high hoop. 'Oh my god, OH MY GOD!' I said, as the ball fell into the hoop. Two thoughts immediately ran through my head: 'Oh my god, I did it!,' and then immediately, 'I need eyewitnesses. Now.' I went to Ebony and Shailin, who were sitting on the stage directly in front: 'Please tell me you saw that.' Luckily they did, and now I will tell the story of the high hoop to anyone and everyone who will listen, and a couple who won't. And Ebony can back me up.

Then at home, my luck turned for the worse, as Mother Nature balances out my so far fantastical luck. I promptly spent the next 5 hours on my History assignment. I had to scrap everything I'd done at the beginning as I couldn't find any relevant quotes, which the assignment demanded. So I restarted the whole thing. When it was finally finished, my computer stuffed up, necessitating two restarts, and then the printer refused to work right the first time. Now the title of the post becomes clear.

And that was my Thursday. Sorry for the really late post, there was a big thing on Friday that stopped me from blogging in time. And as this is two days late, Friday's post will be late as well. Saturday's and Sunday's maybe. It'll remain to be seen. Also... it's 100,000 words! That's a blogging milestone! Thank you Word Count!

100,000 words I've done, and many more still to go,

So Much To Do

And today was the epitome of this week: not much work at school, but heaps outside of it. Wednesdays are the best day of the week, though, so it was a good day overall. Well, the day itself was good. The stress of assignments is getting to me though. It'll be finished by Friday, though, which will be a happy, happy day. Thank god for Fridays (OK, I'm getting really ahead of myself. It's only Wednesday!). A late post again, things got in the way.

Before school, I finished off Tuesday's post, as the Drama Journal... well, I covered this in the last post. First, it was Role Call, which was just doing some reading. The usual. Period 1 was Maths, which was a big bludge. Half the people were doing some 3 hour Maths comp (*shudders*), so we just did work on quadrilaterals. This is Year 7 work. When I finished that (i.e., after about 10 minutes), I got very bored, so I drew some of my random comic characters (such as Anime Man and Jesus the Zombie Crab. This will make no sense to anyone except me, I know.). Then it was Period 2, which was Drama. We handed in our Journals, and then we spent the period talking about the performance on Monday. It was another bludge of a period. Recess was spent playing 13, as per usual.

Period 3 was Commerce, which was doing some of the presentations for the in-class assignment. We have some difficulties with people being away and so forth, so we just had to talk about our topic. That was also a bit of a bludge. Lunch was 13, again. Then it was School Sport, which was some game with two gigantic tennis balls and four goals. Nobody really knew what was going on or how to play. I don't think the teachers quite understood either. It seemed a bit pointless. We played that for about 45 minutes, and then half the class (including yours truly) migrated to the stage, where we did absolutely nothing for the rest of the school day. How I love School Sport. When the bell went, Victor, Ebony and I went and talked. Then, when Victor left, Ebony and I talked, along with Mango who arrived from soccer. Around 2:50, we left for the train, and I got home around 3:30. And after a while, around 6:45, it was time for hapkido.

Today was a very good day in hapkido. I really, really need to work on my right leg back roll, I worked that out. But, I also got signatures, enough to put me on my second tip. Hooray! I also completed my required 20 lessons. So now, I have 7 days and 9 signatures to go before orange belt. Things are looking up. The lesson itself was pretty good, as I learnt what was wrong with my crosses. I also found that my hooks are good. Hapkido is fun. Back at home, I did some of my blog, but I wasn't quick enough. So I'm doing it now.

And as there are no comments, this is the final paragraph. There will probably be a late Thursday post. We'll have to see how quickly the assignment gets done. I didn't mean to leave it until the last minute.

Oh, the work!,

Never Enough Time

It's just been so rush-rush today. I've been everywhere and I've been working like crazy. I've got the Drama Journal finished (Call the Pope; it's a miracle!), but I've got a History assignment due on Friday. Luckily, it's only something like 2 pages, and these types of assignments don't require much thinking. Still, it's a lot of work. I am going to enjoy the weekend. If only because it means an escape from assessments and half-yearlies for the first time in weeks. And I know it's a late post, that was just because I ran overtime.

I woke up at 7 today, and promptly rushed around as fast as I could to get my post done before school. I finished it with 5 minutes to go, and at school, I gave Ebony 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.' I decided she must see it. Everybody should (that means you, person reading this!). Anyway. Period 1 was Science, which was doing some work on binary. For some reason, I really like binary. I've been doing it for a while (my Dad used to be an electronic technician, so he used to show me stuff like that). By the end of the lesson, Robson was getting us to crack a binary code. Period 2 was Computer Maths, and get this: we actually went on the computers. And like I said yesterday: we went on Geometer's Sketchpad. We did some work on circles inside and outside of triangles. The latter was easy, the former was really hard, until Rawson gave us a hint. I then spent the rest of the lesson bludging around in Computer Maths.

Recess was handball with John and Eric. Well, for 5 minutes, before it became clear that the ball sucked. So for the rest of Recess, we played 13. Period 3 and 4 were Ag. We were drenching goats today, but as there was a mix-up with the paddocks, only half the class actually drenched them. I volunteered to be one of that half, but it ended up not being so. I already volunteered to do something else in Ag that class, and that ended up with me sinking a centimetre into a patch of mud with an audible 'squelch!' So for most of the class, I talked to Ebony (and finding out that she's dragged Oishi into the secret/question game). We played word association for a while, before that got repetitive and therefore boring. We also played the ESP game (with cards), and after a bit we played the secret/question game. It does kill time. Lunch was more 13.

Period 5 was English, which was doing some questions on 'Animal Farm,' which somehow degenerated into the government history of the Phillipines, and the shoe collection of (according to Wikipedia, thy information god) a dictator called Ferdinand Marcos's wife, Imelda (Wikipedia link provided). Period 6 was History, which was doing more work from the textbook. At this point, I'd like to thank Mrs Johnson for reminding me about the assignment due on Friday. Or I would, at a guess, be in big trouble. But I won't be. So I'm relieved. When the bell went, I raced to the library to get a book, because I had an orthodontist appointment.

We got to the orthodontist's around 3:30, with parking and what not. My appointment was at 3:30, so we (Mum and I) thought we were late. Oh, how wrong we were. We waited in the waiting room (dun dun dah!) for 20 minutes, just reading. The actual appointment took 3 minutes. Waiting in line to pay for it took 7 (I counted on my watch). So it took more than twice as long waiting to pay for the appointment than it did in the appointment. By the time I got home, it was 4:30. That's 1.5 hours I'm never getting back. When I got home, I worked and worked on my Drama Journal, expanding it, and realising I needed 5 pages instead of 4. Around 8:30, I'd finished. But I couldn't finish the post in time, so here I am.

And that was my Tuesday. There was never enough time. There wasn't enough time to do the Drama Journal and blog. To start the History assignment. And so on and so forth. Anyway.

The cursed journal is finished!,

The Drama Assessment

Yes, that's right, it was our group's Drama assessment today. Expect a long bit about it, and a rant on the journal (bloody Kolodziej and his... wait. I'm not there yet.). Also a bit about hapkido. Anyway. Also a late post; hapkido ran late. I also blame society (Of course!).

I woke up today to the sounds of my brother, as he was going to his Year 6 camp today, and getting back on Wednesday. If I can say a touch selfishly, it's really good timing. I can't afford distractions from this bloody Drama J... Back to the topic. How about I just scatter my rant through the blog? That would save time. Before school, I said goodbye to my brother for a few days, and then I finished off Sunday's post. Something I have realised: Blogging before the next day is not the be-all and end-all. It's preferable, certainly, but not necessary. Anyway. Period 1 was Geography, which was doing more work from the textbook. It's fairly simple: read the question, refer back to the text, answer question. Repeat. Just basic NTR work. Period 2 was Science, which was doing some more work on waves, and some work on optical fibres. Robson showed us this device which had optical fibres sticking out of it, like hair, and a light from below. It's hard to explain, but long story short, it looked pretty awesome. He also showed us what happened when you shine a laser pointer into a block of perspex (answer: total internal reflection resulting in the whole block glowing, and the further confirmation that I want a laser pointer).

Recess was practicing for the Drama assessment. (I played one hand of 13 for the entire day. I feel so... un-me.) Period 3 was Ag, which was doing some work on goats. It wasn't hard work; I forgot I had it, so I read for most of the period. Then finished the sheet in 10 minutes. Period 4 was PE, in which we didn't have Wilson. I was looking forward to another period of doing nothing, but the sub came. And went. And came again. All the while, we're doing work that seemed pointless and probably was. But still, it was a bludge (memorable moment: Norris walking in and asking 'Do you have a teacher?' I expect if we had said no, he'd come in and teach. I wouldn't know if that was good or bad.) By the end of the period, I just ended up reading.

Lunch was more work on the Drama assessment. Period 5 was Maths was starting a new topic on something called Deductive Geometry, which doesn't sound good. But we might be able to go on Geometer's Sketchpad, so I suppose it isn't all bad. Then, it was Period 6: The Drama Assessment. First, it was Shane's group, which was funny, but less funny than I expected. Then, when they were finished, it was our turn. We started off with Pradeepti forgetting some of her lines, though it wasn't too obvious. Then it was time for Scene 2. That was pulled off pretty well, though there was a slight mix-up of lines. It still worked out pretty well though. Scene 3 ran really smoothly. Scene 4 was fine as well. And that was our play. A short few lines? It was a short play. Shorter than I'd expected or realised. Although come to think of it it was long enough. Now all that's left to be done is the Drama Journal. Though that's probably going to be easier than I thought. And when the bell went, I caught a ride home. At home, I did the Drama journal. I have a better feeling about it, but it's still going to be a fair bit of work. And around 6:45, we left for hapkido.

Shay was here today, and so I was partnered with her. The class today was focused on a technical side, after the effects of this year's Hell Camp (I wasn't there, obviously. But form what I heard it was... well, hell.). I learnt today that I need to step less on my crosses, and that my rolls need some work. My kicks, however, are getting there. After class, Grandmaster Geoff ran through signatures. I finished all of my grabs, and he also surprised me on hapkido theory (circular motion, water theory, non-resistance). So now I have 13 signatures, and I'm one away from a second tip. I am now 9 days, 1 class, and 11 signatures away from an orange belt. It's on the horizon. At home, I blogged a bit; but it wasn't enough. So here I am.

To comments, 2 from 2 people.
*Ebony: Stop trying to insult me. Weird is a compliment to me. Get over it. And I don't think you're one to call me socially unaware. Just saying. I can also blog whenever I want. It's my blog, dammit!
*Anon: My guess is... Shafi?

Well, that was my Monday. Tuesday may or may not be a late post, depending on the Drama journal. But apart from that, no real reason to be.

Only one assessment to go (Drama Journal!),

Another Relaxing Day

My weekends seem to be following a pattern: eventful Saturdays, followed by relaxing Sundays involving a lot of blogging. However, I am going to stop this, as it results in too much procrastination. So I shall now begin the day by not watching so much TV and actually blogging. You would think it would be easier to blog on the day, rather than the day after. But I can't work miracles. I tried making some sort of atheist joke here, but I couldn't think of anything. Anyway! To my Sunday. Also, it's a late post. You can guess who I blame (it's society. Society, man!).

I got up around 7:15, and then went on my laptop, and watched some TV. Then, for the next, say, 7 hours (it was that kind of day), I watched TV, as well as blog, and go on MSN. Once the blog was done, it was quarter to 5, which led me to the pledge I made in the above paragraph. After I was finished posting, I then played some DS for a while. I am going to try, for the first time, actually EV training a Pokemon. It's going to take a while, but I'm going to give it a shot. I then, after dinner, watched Merlin, then went on my laptop and played DS until Rove went on. I then ended up watching Rove. And that was my day.

It really doesn't say much when all I have up to here is something like 250 words. I think it's time for that time-honoured tradition; the list. How about... things that are compliments to me but are not intended to be (yes, I'm running out of ideas):
*Nerd: This one is the obvious one. Nerd means smart. Thank you! Something I have learnt: you can't insult people who don't take offence. And I take offence to little, if anything. So even nerd, ruling out the smart thing, is a compliment by me. Hell, most things are a compliment by me.
*Weird: Weird means unique. Weird means I'm me. I'm proud to be me; I'm proud to be weird. So on and so forth.

OK, that's the post for me. Yes, it's a short post, it was one of those days. The next few posts might be late; the Drama journal is annoying like that. Bloody Kolodziej.

This post was way too short for my liking,

Running, Rain, and a Presentation

Yes, more titling difficulties, and a late post. A very late post. As usual, I blame society. Anyway. Today I ran around a lot, in the rain, and later there was a cricket presentation that ran until 6. It was that kind of day.

I woke up around 7:45, and I had to get ready for my brother's footy game. We got there around 8:30, and I promptly spent some time, for some reason, playing handball with a golf ball (hitting a golf ball with your hand hurts. Though it's better than my brother, who tried headbutting it and came off the worse for the deal, to say the least.). When he went to get photos done, I wandered around for a while, then went to see Shay, Heather and Jess in the canteen. We talked about nothing for a while. After that, I went to sit down and read for a bit, while listening to Queen on my iPod. Of course, that couldn't last long, as I have become the runner for EJ's team. So when the game started, so did I. Except, it was raining. And when I say it rained, I meant it poured. Positively bucketed down. So I ended up running along one side of the field, in the rain, and every so often, doing a throw-in. Around half-time, though, it started to slow up, so I was able to get at least partially dry. And to top it all off, the other team didn't even have a boundary umpire. It kept raining on and off for a while.

When his game finished (and he won), and after Mum had left for the shops, Dad, EJ and I dropped by KFC, on our way home. At home, Shay's family stopped by to give Dad and EJ their birthday presents. Then, around 1:45, we all left for our Cricket Presentation. I brought my iPod and my DS. For the first part, I just watched my brother play some DS, and then I started to watch some Abridged. I also then played some DS. Around 5, they started the actual presentations, and at 6-ish, they called our team up. In that, my Dad announced something that took everyone concerned by complete surprise, except my family: no more cricket. When the cricket season starts, I either have to hapkido or cricket. I cant do both; 4 days a week in Year 11 is just too much. So the choice was between hapkido and cricket. And I chose hapkido. In life we have choices, and this is mine. On a less philosophical note, my Dad messed up by saying I was doing the HSC next year. So for the rest of when I stayed there, I had to keep telling people that I am not actually doing the HSCs for a while. Then, at home, I blogged about Friday.

To comments now, 2 from the 2 commenters I had before The Strike. Yes, it's been capitalised.
*Ebony: Suckiness is the noun. Not suckage. I refuse to give up my beliefs on slang for no apparent reason! And there was more then one commenter today. And thanks for reminding me about the journal.
*Victor: Where?

Well, that was my day. More late posts, I know. I have to stop this weekend procrastination. I'll stop. Eventually.

Bloody post-procrastination,

Bludging But Working

That may be a bit of a paradox, and you'd be right. I'm out of titles. But what I mean is that I did a lot of bludging today, but it seems like I did a lot of work. Also, I apologise for the late post; things just seemed to keep getting in the way. Details may or may not be a bit lacking. I blame society.

Period 1 was Science, which was doing some actual work on waves. As in, work that actually involves thinking and isn't just rote calculator stuff or basic reading. Back to the daily grind. Period 2 was Geography. That was starting a new topic, as well as getting prepared for a quiz. It's apparently on where countries are in South-East Asia (doable), their capitals (very hard) and where Australia is on a world map (This is Kindergarten work). It was a bit of a weird two periods. Then it was Assembly. That was torture, as Mr Norris invited someone nobody knew for reasons nobody understood (including, I suspect, him). It was, presumably, supposed to be all about the selling of the school farm. The speech (if you can call it that) drifted in and out of lucidity, and it was told by the real life version of Grandpa from The Simpsons. He just went on and on about things in his day, and focused specifically on small, unnecessary details (example: 'It was grey. No, it was brown.'). Assembly, I think, went over time.

Recess was the usual. Period 3 was English, in which one of the Year 10 classes was split up because their teacher wasn't there. And they didn't have a sub. So we got about 6 people, including Shafi, who sat next to me. The period itself was just talking about 'Animal Farm.' Something about most books: read them, don't read into them. George Orwell's books are an exception. Unfortunately, the English staff find the wrong sort of books to get (i.e. bad ones). Anyway. Period 4 was Maths, which was doing a work on logarithms. Well, we were supposed to be doing textbook work, but it's never that simple in A1, where Year 11 work isn't a novelty, it's mandatory (not really, but I wouldn't be surprised).

Lunch was supposed to be doing a bit of work on our Drama assessment, but with Rutherford not here, it sort of just degenerated. I got out of it by pointing behind Ebony, shouting 'Wow, a yard sale!' and running. Hooray for escaping to 13! Period 5 was Drama, which was watching performances. Best one: Tansy's, which used a Blackadder quote, and Bella (should-be Cameron)'s character, who was this brilliant Italian godfather type thing. With the others, though, I felt slightly better about our performance, as nobody forgets their lines (or, at the very least, I don't. When my part consists of pointing a 'gun' at Rutherford and demanding money, shooting Ebony, and running out of one scene screaming, it's very hard to screw up.). Period 6 was Commerce, which was Charades. Obviously, Kearney had time, and a lesson, to kill. I got a chocolate out of the deal (Mmm, chocolate...).

When the bell went, I got home, and did some work. I didn't get to post, though, because our family all watched a movie called 'The Usual Suspects' (Wikipedia link and spoilers contained within). I think the movie was brilliant, and I recommend everybody watch it. There are only a few movies I would recommend everybody watch at least once, and 'The Usual Suspects' is now one of those. Watch it. But I didn't get to post. I will explain why this post is so incredibly late next post.

To comments now, 2 from Ebony. As usual.
*Ebony: June 18 is my unlucky date. And boo for English suckiness (not suckage. Suckiness.). Boo!
*Ebony: I'm lame? I'm lame!? I'm not lame! I'm VERY lame!

Well, that was my day. Expect a few late posts in the next few days; lots to do. I might post at the regular time, but we'll have to see.

I apologise for the really, REALLY, late post,
AB

My Cursed Date

It's June 18. Good for my Dad: Happy Birthday Dad! (Yes, their birthdays are next to each other). But June 18 is my bad day. In 2000, I was in hospital with some blood problem on June 18. And the very next year, on the very same date, I ran headfirst at full speed into a flagpole. Today was not as bad as either of those, of course, as I didn't go to hospital. But it was still fairly bad. We'll see how, shall we? And yes, it's a late post. My unlucky streak continues.

Before school, I finished off my post from yesterday, as well as seeing the new YGOTAS episode. It's back, baby! I was dropped off at school, and Period 1 was something called 'Cheap Thrills.' I ended up volunteering for one of the roles before the act started. And how I came to regret that. At one point, the guy was pretending to be his own character's mother (it was one of those plays), and he called upon 'Aunty Pat.' And pointed to me. My face, or so I think, was stuck in an expression of a combination of shock, horror, and 'dear god, please not me.' But I was called up nonetheless, and the torture only lasted for a few minutes. The best thing that could be said about it was that it was a nice waste of a period. The actor said that the events 'could happen to anyone.' But, watching the play, he made it clear that it would only happen to people who drunk underage, stole a car, crashed it, and started smoking marijuana. Message not received.

Period 2 was History, which ended up being just talking about subject selection with Hewie, Alan and Chris, as well as doing a brief amount of work. Recess was trying to see Mulligan (the new Vice Principal) about the Subject Selection Sheet. But he wasn't here. Just my luck. So I went back, and played some 13. Period 3 was Maths, in which Rawson sprung a surprise quiz on us. I have not had a surprise quiz in ages. Possibly ever. And I spent the last part of the quiz working out an answer longways, because I forgot the formula. Then remembered the formula wrongly and changed my answer. Sometimes I can be a royal idiot. Period 4, though, was Science, which was a pretty good lesson. Robson unleashed a program called Audacity, which I have since downloaded. You can make tones, white noise (love the song), and the awesomest feature, you can record your own voice and do stuff to it like change the pitch of it, so you sound like Darth Vader or Mickey Mouse on helium. I love it.

Lunch was the usual. Period 5 was Commerce, which was a bludge, with Lizzie's Commerce group doing their video for the in-class assignment. Period 6 was English, in which possibly the worst event of the day: I got my exam back. The whole thing rested on one interpretation of the story. You get that wrong, say goodbye to a good mark. God. Damn. Kolodziej. He seems insistent on damaging my schooling to the limit with his English marking and the bloody 4 page Drama journal. Anyway. After school, everyone in our Drama group (bar Amy), and Revathy, filling in for Amy, did some work on our assessment. Then at home, I watched some TV, went a bit on my laptop. The usual. I also didn't get to finish the post, so here I am.

To comments, just the one. Slightly pointless, but anyway.
*Ebony: Thank you!

Well, that was my Thursday. The next few posts may be a bit late; there are things on. All to be explained when the day comes.

Happy Birthday Dad,

Exercise and More Exercise

Today involved a lot, I mean a lot, of exercise. Read through and you'll get the general picture. And, Happy Birthday EJ! He is 11. Also, I know it is a late post. Blame hapkido. Even awesomeness has its downsides.

I slept in 45 minutes today, after the exhausting night I had last night. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on which way you put it), I got to school on time, but I only got to blog something like 2 paragraphs before it was time to go to school. Oy vey. When I actually got to school, not many people were there, and several people went to an IPT excursion. The people who were left at the table: me, Kevin, Andy, Ian, Shafi. Role Call was just reading. Periods 1 and 2 were PE, which was more cricket. We were playing indoor cricket instead though, and as we couldn't lose the balls, and they were tennis balls, we could smash them basically as hard as we wanted to. And smash them I did. Heaps of our people. In one memorable event, Alan hit a ball of Hewie, which went straight into a Lachlan Macquarie plaque (Macquarie is always getting smashed), then bounced straight into Allie's head. Wilson also warned us about hitting the clocks; but he said we'd need good timing to do that (Timing? Clocks? LOL!). I loved smashing it. Towards the end, we played 2 games of indoor cricket, of which our team won both. Go the Blues! (We were the blue team.)

Recess was 13, with everybody here. So, 5. We managed it though. Period 3 was Commerce, which was doing work on our in-class assignment. I do not want to be stuck doing it all like the last Commerce in-class assignment (bloody Matt and Javery). But, yeah, I actually got some work done. Lunch was 13, even when Shafi and Ian left, and we were stuck with 3 people. So we added an imaginary guy called 'Larry' for some reason, and we could take any hand we wanted. That was fun.

Then it was School Sport, in which we went back into the hall after a while with everyone procrastinating. We played dodgeball, so it was a good thing that Ebony was at the IPT excursion. I did pretty well, except for when I accidentally took out Alex Tieu. Long story short, he was sitting down, I threw a ball, people got out of the way, the ball hit him. In the braces. Not my fault; sitting down in a game of dodgeball is a very, very bad idea. Anyway. First we played against the Year 9s, with Year 7s split between us. We won all of the games we played against them. Then we played the Year 7s. We won most of the games, but not all. They outnumbered us, man! I was picked up by my Dad around 2:30, and then we went to Wattle Grove Shops. We got home around 3:30.

I finished my blog around 4;15, after much procrastination and other such things. I then spent a while on MSN, before going to EJ's birthday dinner. Which, in classic EJ style, was Red Rooster. I had way too much for dinner, I'll say that. Because, at 7, I left for hapkido. Shay didn't come, as she was sick. We had Grandmaster Geoff and Tina for teachers, and together they work pretty well. I got 2 signatures today, which puts me up to enough signatures for a tip! For those that don't know what that is, each 7 signatures, you get a tip. I'm not entirely sure why, but why not? I now have 8 signatures, and in exactly two weeks I am eligible for an orange belt (3 months, 20 classes. I've got two weeks before I've done 3 months, and I've done 18 classes.). Hopefully I'll get it soon. After hapkido, I got home, and did a bit of my blog, while eating some cake of course (mmm, chocolate cake...), and listening to Queen on my iPod. Hooray for Queen!. But I didn't get to finish my post, so here I am.

Well, that was my day. The next few posts shouldn't be too late. Or, alternatively, not very late. At least not too late. Oh, whatever.

Happy Birthday EJ,
AB

Social '09

Yes, today was the social. All to be told of it after my day at school. And I know it's a very late post, it's because the social went until 10, and I didn't have time to finish it in the morning. These things happen.

I was dropped off at school by Dad, and I was the first at the table. It quickly became clear that a few people were not showing up, or at least were sick. Period 1 was Maths, which was just bludging around, as well as doing more Conway's Game of Life stuff. Next was Drama, which was doing work on our Drama assessment. I actually enjoy being the guy with barely any lines, if only for the reason that I can concentrate on the journal. That, and I get to shoot Ebony in the play. There is a whole mock-argument in our group where I blame Victor for her "death" because he wanted potatoes instead of pasta (the in-joke is hilarious if you know it, and bewildering if you don't.), and Victor blames me because, well, I am the armed psychopath. This whole paragraph could be taken incredibly out of context. Anyway.

Recess was the usual. Period 3 was Commerce, which was a very frustrating period. We have to do this in-class assignment, but I lost the sheet saying what topics our group is supposed to be doing. So I had to ask Kearney which ones we should do. It took half-a-bloody-hour before he came over, and that's only because I actually got up and went 'Sir, we really need you over here.' And then the bell went. Bloody Kearney. Period 4 was Science, which was just doing a class quiz. Lunch was also the usual.

Period 5 was English. In that, we listened to the end of 'Macbeth.' So we've now listened to the whole of the play. I want to finish the topic, because Hancock gave us all a copy of 'Animal Farm' to read a few days back. Now how awesome is that? First good book we've been given in English. Anyway. Period 6 was History, and me being my absent-minded self, I left my History book at home. So I spent the period talking, and doing some answers in a ripped-out sheet from one of my books. And while I was out of class, I was confronted by another group of kids. 'Hey, Geoffrey!' What? Me: 'Who's Geoffrey?' 'Aren't you Geoffrey Arka?' Now, either they're very, very confused or they're taking the piss out of me for some unfathomable reason somehow. No idea which. Once the bell went, and when I got home, I prepared for the social. I left at 5:45-ish.

I arrived around 6, in my brother's zombie-freak mask and a pillow up my back for a hunch. And not one person recognised me, until I showed them of course. Victor was there, and I went up to him. I had to take my mask off before he knew who I was. Ditto for a while. Around 45 minutes in, though, it started becoming increasingly obvious that I could neither talk nor hear very well in the mask, and the novelty of being in a rubber mask with nobody knowing who I was wore off pretty quickly. So I took the mask off, and sat on the pillow. I tried dancing (well, jumping), but that got boring very quickly. So I talked to Victor, Ebony when she wasn't there (which was rare) and Mango when he was there (which was rare). For the most part, I sat and talked to them on the back of the hall. And around 10, people started to file out of the hall, and the lights went on, though in which order I'm not sure. Probably a bit of both. I finally got to sleep around 10:30.

Well, that was my day. No comments, so this is it for the post. Wednesday's post will hopefully be on time; things may or may not be on time. We'll have to see.

Social = good,
AB

It's Always Mondays

I'm not sure if the grammar in that is right. But it's 9 on Monday night. I can be excused from grammatical sense. But, anyway. To my Monday.

Before school, I talked to Ebony about the Drama project (of which the script is done, thanks to Pradeepti), and the Drama journal. That's gonna be a weekend thing. I also handed in my English assignment before school, because I forgot to bring a rubber band. Period 1 was Science, which was doing more work on that induction coil from Friday. We also did some work on electromagnetism. Next was Computer Maths, which was, in fact doing Maths on the computers. But it was just rote Excel work. I do not enjoy that type of Computer Maths, especially when I can't get on the internet or go on Geometer's Sketchpad. Even when work is done. Bloody hell. Recess was the usual.

Periods 3 and 4 were double Ag, which was going down to the goat shed to vaccinate the goats. I also talked to Hewie, Alan and Ebony about the social tomorrow; I'm still not sure if I'll come as anything. I'll have to see. I have a few ideas, but... anyway. We were vaccinating goats. I also confirmed something I have suspected: Goats hate me. It's not that they do anything to me, it's just they make life frustrating. It took me something like 8 goes just to vaccinate one goat. I had to pick the only one with no skin to grab, and to top it off it just kept moving. When I went to hold them, they even pulled away. It was annoying. But I ended up vaccinating it. I also talked to people about the quality of teachers in the school. For some reason. The conversation just veered on to that subject, as well as my brother coming to Hurlstone and private schools comparing to selective schools. Don't ask me why, it just did.

Lunch was 13, except I actually had a fairly good winning streak. So did Eric. He only got out once. Bloody hell. Period 5 was English, of which the first part was talking about the exam. I got good signs, and I got bad signs. I'll have to see the actual exam. We also listened to more scenes from Macbeth, and I really hope it's better on stage. Because if it's anything like the way it is on tape, it isn't going to be very good. It's not bad as such, but it's unprofessional and it sounds too much like they're reading from a script. Anyway. Period 6 was History, which was just doing work out of class. And while I was out of class for about 5 minutes, I saw people from Holsworthy High, presumably here for something like cross country. I didn't think much of it, except as a curiosity - yet. When tying my shoe, I heard a voice that called 'AB!' Without thinking I looked up, and saw these 5 Holsworthy kids, who promptly went 'You went to Holsworthy!' and went for a hi-5. At this point, I thought 'Why me?' People always seem to know me, and I have no idea who they are. It's happened time and time again. It gets really frustrating. Anyway. When the bell went, I went home, and then celebrated having no English project by watching TV and going on my laptop. I'll probably get in to my Drama journal around Thursday, when I actually have a decent time to do it after school.

Around 6:45, I left for hapkido. This lesson, I snuck a signature in, and also learnt just how long I have been gone. My kicks are worse than they were, my rolls have degenerated a bit, and Dylan is now an orange belt. From now on, no extended breaks if I can help it. But, there is some semblance of normality, as Grandmaster Geoff is still there and Nick is still a white belt. If I make it to orange belt before him, I will be slightly ashamed.

As there are no comments, this is my last paragraph. Tomorrow's post will be a late one, because of the social (hooray for the social!). I also noticed something on the horizon, on my word count: It's gradually nearing 100,000 words. Which comes to something like 700 words a post. When I started I was lucky to get 350. Anyway. Something of interest, to nobody but me.

Bloody Mondays,
AB

Sweet, Sweet Sundays

Of course, if I hadn't got my English assignment done yesterday I would be ranting about why today has been a day of too much work. But, thanks to my finishing it yesterday, today was a day of relative relaxation. The Drama journal is the only real problem facing my schooling in the next 2 weeks or so. I also have to give the elective sheet in, but I'm pretty sure I know what I'm going to do. Anyway, to my day.

I woke up around 7:30 today, and promptly went on my laptop, and to the TV. Around 10 (yes, it's a time skip. Nothing happened.), we all went to our grandparents' place. On the way out the door, while searching through my DS case, I found a small, green, translucent Gameboy game. Pokemon Emerald was found. As usual, it was in a ridiculous place, hidden within something I'd already searched. But I knew it'd turn up. Everything does. I also have good news: I am going to the Britney Spears concert in November! Words cannot express my enthusiasm. I've been a Britney fan for years now, but she's never done a concert in Australia for years now. But she is, so I'm going. Hooray!! Anyway. At my grandparents' place, I went to Poppa's shed to see what he was doing, which was make a coffee table for Mum and Dad. It's a pretty good one too. Then, after my brother got bored, he dragged me inside, and we watched Blackadder Season 4 for an hour. We'd already seen it, and we have it at home, but he wanted to watch it again. If it were my choice, I'd have picked Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl. But he picked, so we watched that. Ah well. We got home around midday, and I made lunch.

I then went to my laptop, and began to blog. I finished up around 3-ish, and then went on MSN, and talked for a while. Around 6:30 I had dinner, and then I watched 'Merlin' for a bit. I don't watch it avidly like Mum or EJ, but it happens to be on around dinnertime, so I usually end up watching it. Around 7:45, I went to blog, and after 45 minutes of procrastination (it's what I do), I actually started to post. So here I am, blogging.

Now, because I feel like another list, I present: My week ahead (if I've got it right):
*Monday: Hapkido. Shaylee isn't going, but I am. I'll probably do some work on my Drama Journal. Who knows, I may get it to 4 A4 pages. It might take some work, but I think I can. I also have to hand in my English assignment. I think it's pretty good; I'll see what the teachers think. Expect a post around 9:30-ish.
*Tuesday: A Drama period to work on the assessment and... the Social! I'm not sure what I'm going as, but I'm going. The last social was good, and this one promises to be even better. So I'll be there. Considering it finishes at 10, expect a morning post. I'll try to get it done as soon as I can.
*Wednesday: Hapkido and EJ's birthday. Shay is going to hapkido today, and I'll get more signatures. Expect another 9:30-ish post.
*Thursday: Drama assessment due and Dad's birthday. We may or may not be doing our Drama assessment today, but the Drama journal is not due for a while. I'm not 100% if the Drama assessments start today; that remains to be seen.
*Friday: TGIF. Nothing else needs to be said. Except TGIF.

Well, that was my Sunday, which apart from some work on the Drama Journal involved little real work whatsoever. I love days like this. Well, this week'll be a big one; expect long and late posts. I already explained this.

Here comes a week of work,
AB

Bloody Assignments

Yes, you will notice I've been railing on and on about this topic for the past few days. Today it was all about the English assignment. It took me something like 4 hours, but I finally got it done. So expect a shortish post.

I was woken up around 8:30 by my Mum shaking me and saying 'Get up! You have to go to footy!' However, since I didn't want to leave the English assessment until the last minute as usual, I got to stay home, and do some work on it. I started the project around 9. I won't bore people with the details, or even the large stuff, but suffice to say it was still getting done 3 and a half hours later when everyone else got home. I finished the whole thing around 2 or 3-ish. Finally, it was done. Assignments still to go, in order: Drama, History, Ag. I could rant on and on about Drama, but I've already done that. So I won't.

After that I spent some time just relaxing after a long day of doing work. I watched some TV, read a bit, went on my laptop and played some DS. I started to blog about Friday around 6, but with dinner getting in the way (not that I'm complaining), I actually ended up posting around 8:30. And by that time, I couldn't be bothered doing Saturday's post.So here I am on Sunday afternoon, posting.

It was a fairly uneventful day, so that's a short post. And you know what that means... List time! How about... things that I need to get done soon:
*My Drama journal: You've heard my ranting, and I really need to get it done. That will involve, a) actually doing work and b) expanding the hell out of it.
*History assignment: I will get to that; once other things are done.
*Complete the National Dex on Pearl: Assessments and such come first. Unfortunately.
*Get an orange belt in hapkido: Signatures still need to be gotten, classes still need to be taken. This one takes time. Impatience is not a good thing.

To comments, now that the list is out of the way. One, from Ebony.
*Ebony: I will start work on the journal ASAP. I could go on about Conway's Game of Life, but instead just read this. And hooray for my lol-worthy writing! I have no idea why I wanted a rapper name, but why not? I got the email, 'Que?' pretty much sums it up. AB is not.

Well, that was my Saturday. Sunday's post may be slightly longer; we'll see.

I post-procrastinate way too much,
AB

Thank God For Fridays

Not Thank God It's Friday, but Thank God For Fridays. Also I couldn't think of a better title. And I better post quickly, it's almost time for my next post. Weekend procrastination, people. That and projects. That and AFL. That and Conway's Game of Life. And so on and so forth.

Period 1 (yeah, I'm getting there quickly) was Geography, which was, come to think of, doing bugger all. A complete and utter bludge. I love the periods of complete and utter bludginess. And no doubt spellcheck is going to 'BLUDGINESS ISN'T A WORD! NEITHER IS BLUDGE!' To which I say: shut up spell check. I feel like randomness today. Next was Science, which was just writing some stuff on waves. It ended on awesomeness though, with Robson showing how electricity creates radio waves; using an actual radio. We also had to stand back because it was producing X-rays as well. My nerdy sense is tingling! It's this type of thing that makes me want to be a physicist; the fact that this can do that or produce that or imply that, and showing exactly how it happens and how we can harness it... That is why I like Science. But, I'm way off topic.

Assembly was mostly talking about the Hurlstone farm (save it by doing the walkathon... even if it's in Lunch time) and the social (which I'm going to). That last one had the best promo video ever, and to top it off I found it on Youtube. Enjoy. Recess was the usual. Period 3 was Ag, which for some reason involved me thinking of rapper names for myself. The best I came up with were MC Squared and Cold Fusion. But on further investigation, MC Squared had been taken (goddamn it). So I am now Cold Fusion (yo, this is Cold Fusion, kickin' it old school), and not MC AB as John would like people to think. In short, I want to be this guy. Anyway. Next was PE, which was writing all about stress. What stresses me out most: lack of time. Damn that! I also almost fell out of my chair trying to see something on the board while Wilson was in the way. Rest assured everyone who saw it (Courtney, Ebony, the whole row behind me) laughed, and many (Corinne I know for sure) wished they'd seen it. Funny for others... and I suppose for me. I enjoy a good laugh.

Lunch was the usual, again. Period 5 was Maths, which started off doing no work and quickly degenerated into showing Mango Conway's Game of Life, which surprisingly he enjoyed. I actually did all the steps by hand, which is much, much slower than the computerised version. Still nerdy fun, mind you, but slower. Last was Drama, in which we got stuff done for our assignment. It involved a lot of arguments, but we actually got somewhere. I also turned out to be the robber, so my guess is that I'll have something like 4 lines. So I can't really stuff it up. Hopefully. My Drama journal still needs to get done though. I hate this journal. 4-5 pages is horrifying for 4 periods of work. Note to Kolodziej: Stop. This. Journal. NOW. When I got home, I did a bit of my assessment, played some DS, and ended up watching the Blues-Saints game. We almost won. Almost. But considering Fevola only got two goals, Judd went off with a broken nose in the fourth quarter, Thornton was out, and the Saints are on top of the ladder, I think we did really well to only lose by 9 points. Hell, we almost won. That's great in my book, considering the teams involved. But I didn't get to post, so here I am, posting very, very late.

Comments: one from one person. And I was lucky to get that. But it's better than none.
*Anon: Yes, surprisingly, I have finished. I finished around 4 on Saturday. So Sunday will be spent enjoying the free time. Then it's back to work with the Drama project. *sigh*

Well, that was my Friday. Sorry for the late post, things like footy and school got in the way. Explanations to come next post. Which may be another procrastinated post. I blame society.

Damn Drama!,

Assessments, Assignments

That was today. Assessments referring to the results of Science and Geo, and assignments referring to Drama and English. All in a day's work.

Before school, I blogged again, yes I know. I'm starting to realise that I don't have to finish my blog at night if I can't. I used to feel like I had to. I want to, but I don't have to. Anyway. Period 1 was Science, which was talking a little about electives, and getting our marks back. I got 31.5/35, which I think is pretty good. There were one or two questions that I think were marked a bit harshly, but I can sort of see why. So I'm good with that. Next was Geo, which was also getting our marks back. Now get this: I actually beat Ebony in something. Everything else (bar Science, in which we tied) she beat me at, even Maths (I blame Rawson and his 'teach-months-ahead-of-schedule' program.). I got 37/40, which is pretty good. Now all we need is English, but I'm not too optimistic about that. Hancock said he was actually imagining (now that I check the Wikipedia article, I say 'Well, crap.'). I just hope I explained my answer right. That seems to be the thing in English; it's all subjective. So explanation = good. I just hope my explanation is good.

Recess was the usual. Period 3 was English, which was listening to more of Macbeth. It sounds more and more like people reading from a script. It just doesn't seem real. And I've been to plays before. I went to 'Phantom of the Opera' last year (which was awesome, I might add.). That was convincing. This is not. But, I digress. Next was Maths, and as Mango was doing Cross Country, Ihsas and I had to share the teacher's textbook. The first half of the lesson was spent actually doing work, but the whole class just kinda degenerated for the last half. Come to think of it, I didn't really do anything. Just one of those bludgy periods. Lunch was as Lunches usually are; filled with cards. John, Kevin, Andy, Eric and I played for the whole thing, whereas Victor played until Ebony came. But at least they stayed.

Period 5 was Drama, and Kolodziej, Pradeepti and Rutherford were all at Debating. We had a sub, who let us all work on our assignment. It's still kinda hard though, when there is no Drama teacher around, and only 3 people from our group (Amy, Ebony, me) here. But thanks to an idea Pradeepti had and we expanded, we actually got some plot done. Hell, we got an idea we all agreed on. That's the best we've done. Hopefully we'll now get some lessons. My only problem now is the 4 to 5 page journal we have to do. And considering we've had something like two classes on the assignment so far, that could be a problem. So once the English thing is done, I'm going to go to the Drama journal I have on my computer and expand it. Considerably. Ah, how work is done. Getting back to the subject, I also listened to my iPod, and with me singing Queen songs out loud (I really have to stop doing that), Ebony got 3 songs stuck in her head, at the same time. How someone does that is beyond me. The songs were 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love,' 'Somebody to Love,' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody.' What I really want to know is how many can get stuck in there at the same time. Last was Commerce, in which this woman from the Commonwealth Bank came over to talk about spending, although what her speech really boiled down to was 'My high school, Auburn Girls, sucks' and 'Mobile phones.' And sometimes not even that last one. The most I can say of it was that it was a good waste of a period. That and her laptop was awesome. But that's about it.

At home, I did a bit of my English assessment, and then watched some TV while huddled under a blanket. It was freezing today. And it's only the first two weeks of winter. I want to get back to summer, when it's warm and it's holidays and it's Christmas and it's my birthday. And so on and so forth. But, I suppose it's nice to put the heater on or hide from the cold under a blanket. And here I am, actually on Thursday night, blogging. I'm getting back into the swing of things.

And as there are no comments, this is my closing paragraph. Although, things are sorta looking up. Assuming I can get a ticket to the social (and to the Britney Spears concert, with tickets being sold from July 3, hint hint), it'll be a nice break from everything. And something to blog about. That's one of the things I think about when I'm doing something at least vaguely interesting: 'At least it's something to blog about.'

I'm back to non-late posts, baby,

Bludging Bar One

All my other titles weren't snappy enough. But the point is, everything was utter bludging bar one period. All to be explained, right now. And I still need to get to that theme song. Maybe in July (wow, utter procrastination!), after everything is done. And yes, it's another late post, I'm still getting into the rhythm of things. Also I had a lot of homework.

Before school, I finished up Tuesday's post, which is starting to become a common thing for me. Let's hope it's not becoming a habit. The effects of the long weekend still linger. At school, we all waited around for the bell to go, which was late. I love late bells. (In fact, I'm betting everybody does.) In Role Call, I enjoyed some time exasperated after I discovered Ebony and Corinne do not know who Stewie Griffin from Family Guy is. And Ebony calls me socially unaware (though in all fairness, I am a much bigger nerd than her. This much is obvious. I could explain why, but we could be here for a while.). Anyway. First it was Ag, which was getting our results for the half-yearly back. I continue my tradition in Ag, which is that of getting around 70% every time. Ag is not my strong subject. I am going to be dropping it as soon as I can for Years 11 and 12. I'll drop it like I dropped Music, Art and Jap at the end of Year 8, or like Ebony drops balls (I'm sorry, I'll stop. I just felt I had to say it.). Period 2 should have been Geo/History, but we had a Science comp instead. I think I did good, but there were way too many Bs for my liking. That made me a bit nervous. But going over my answers... well, we'll see. No point stressing now.

Recess was the usual, though with John away and the weather being absolutely freezing, it took a while to get a group together and find a spot. But we ended up playing. Period 3 was Maths, which started out doing nothing, and ended up in a discussion about electives after Cavanagh came in to explain a bit more about the 'Unit System.' I now have a basic idea of what I'm going to do, after talking to Hancock. However I'm not going to write it down as I still want some flexibility. Lunch was yet more 13, and Victor played as well. In fact, we all did, as it was Sport Trials. When the bell went, our group (apart from Andy and Ebony) all went to Basketball. We didn't try out, of course, so we spent the time playing 13. Even Ms Pham joined in from time to time, as well as me, Victor, Eric and Kevin. We played that until the bell went. When it did actually go, I stuck around with Victor, Ebony and Mango, and in the end Ebony and I went up to the station. As 'her people' weren't at Holsworthy, we talked to each other on the bus.

At home, I decided to take a break from hapkido, as I wanted to spend some time on my English assessment. I don't want to leave it all until the last minute, dammit! After a long hour writing and refining, I finished up the context-transformed script. By that time it was around 8:15, and I decided that was enough for the night. I then watched the new Simpsons, and started to blog. But, unfortunately, I did not get to finish, so here I am, on Thursday morning blogging. Again.

Comments now, just the one.
*Ebony: I, too, hate when I start a sentence and can't finish it. I totally get you. And yes, your uncoordination is fun to watch. Just because it's so... never mind. I'm going to stop. Congratulations in being in the headlines (I think.).

Well, that was my day. I really have to stop posting so late, but these things happen. I get it, I shouldn't do it, but it happens.

Those paragraphs are good enough,

Say Cheese!

Yes, it was school photos today. I also felt like titling it that. Why not? (If you're wondering why, the answer is because it's my blog, dammit! I can blog on what or when I feel. Anyway. Moving on from my frustration at a hypothetical situation. Wait, what?) And I'm sorry it's a late post, things just seemed to keep getting in the way. I hate it when that happens, because you keep trying to get to something but... you get what I mean. I just have no idea how to finish that sentence.

Before school, I finished Monday's post, and before school at school, I'd like to think I entertained people with my new, lispy voice. I'd like to think that. My voice now sounds relatively normal. On another minus side, Victor can do a way better Acolyte voice than I can. So, crap. Period 1 was English, and we had Contado. We got 'Animal Farm' for a book, which is one of those freaky-coincidental things, because I finally read it after borrowing it from the library only a week ago. I told her I'd already read it not long ago, so I got to read my Bill Bryson book. Isn't it nice when things just work? (See this Honda ad for explanation. I love this ad.) When the bell went, I went to Maths, and there it was just some calculator work, as well as learning some stuff about logs, and being a smartass in class (because Faulds taught us new maths stuff specifically because I was away. Or so he says.). Recess was 13, as it usually is, though John seemed to be completely out of it. '13?' 'Yeah, what about it?' '13!' 'So?' 'Cards!' 'Oh...' The long weekend takes it out of everybody.

Period 3 was School Photos, and there were many memorable moments. When we started to line up, it became obvious that Eric had had a massive growth spurt. More than one person told him he was 'supposed to be' at the end of the line, including myself. I also grew, and when we filed up for a grade photo, I was in the top row. How awesome is that? However, this sense of almost-pride (because it's only really actual pride if you do something, rather than letting your body do something, if you know what I'm trying to get across here) was short-lived, as being in the top row sparked a slight unease (not exactly a fear of heights, but reminiscent of it), which would have been better if I were not at the edge. That in itself would have been better if there were a rail. Luckily, I didn't fall down. The group photos themselves passed without much incident, except for a word to say, the guy said to say 'communism.' Don't know why, don't want to know. The individual photos passed without much incident. Period 4 was Commerce, which was just a bit of bludging in the Computer Room. Ah, the joys of doing nothing.

Lunch was the usual. Period 5 and 6 were PE, and this session was a sport that I actually know how to play: cricket. I did pretty well for a while (and it was sorta fun watching Ebony's uncoordination. No offence.), and near the end we played a mixture of Diamond and Continuous Cricket (Ciamond? Dinuous?). When I got into bat, I just kept running, and it was tiring the hell out of me. When I finally got out, I realised I was having a panic attack throughout the whole thing. I swear, my body hates me. Anyway. At home, I did some of my assignment, talked on MSN; and realised my Pokemon Emerald game is gone. Seriously, I can't find it. Bugger. I'll keep looking though. And when I went to blog, things just kept getting in the way. So here I am on Wednesday morning, blogging.

To comments, one from one person. And Ebony actually commented. Hooray!
*Ebony: First four points in the first paragraph, I: partially agree, disagree, disagree, agree. And, yes, comment more. And I am only good at the first two, I suck at Singstar. Paragraph complaints? Really?

Well, that was my Tuesday. Ebony has begun to comment again, I'm back to 13, but I'm back to school and I've lost a game. Well, you win some, you lose some.

Back to school, again,

Ice Ice AB

Yes, my titling is back! This bad pun comes from 'Ice Ice Baby,' the song by Vanilla Ice (I said that because I barely got that joke). I say it because I went ice-skating today. So, yeah. Ice-skating. You know what, whatever. You get the joke. And yes, it's a late post, it's not because of post-procrastination, and more of I didn't finish in time. Ah well.

I woke up at 7:30, and went out to watch some TV. I also started Sunday's post around 8:30. Keep in mind this 8:30 time, I'm proving how procrastination-prone (also, wow, procrastinatory is a word, or so the online dictionary tells me. I've been using this word for years, and I've been worried I sound like a retard. Now I just sound like a walking dictionary. Hooray!) I am. After breakfast and so forth was done, I played some DS, and watched EJ play Warcraft III. I forgot how awesome the voices were. I can also rival Victor; I can do the Undead Acolyte voice. Not perfectly of course, I'm still getting used to this bloody expander (that's my excuse. Seriously, I am still getting used to it, but that's not why I can't do voices as well as Victor. Ohh...), but pretty good. Then around 11, Shay's family, our family, and Shay's friend/cousin Heather all went to Liverpool Catholic Club for ice-skating. It didn't come out of the blue like that of course. Anyway.

For skate size (and I just have to mention this), I got a 13, which is the largest size they have. Seriously, it's also my Dad and Michael's size. My feet are huge. When we got on to the ice, there were varying degrees of success from EJ's 'clinging to the side for dear life' to Shay and Heather's 'let's skate!' The adults just watched. Lachlan and I were somewhere in the middle, with Lachlan more towards Shay's side, and me towards EJ's. After something like an hour though, I sorta got the hang of the skates, and worked out how to move across the ice without hanging on to the side. I needed a rhythm to get into while I skated, so my body and my mind wouldn't argue, if that makes sense. First I recited the periodic table, but when I got stuck too many times, and my mind started working too much, I gave that up. Then I tried to find a song with a beat I could sing to, and I found 'Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)' in my head fit my purpose. So I was able to make my way across the ice singing that, under my breath of course. Eventually I could do it without the song, and that's when the novelty wore off. It turned from 'hey, cool, I'm going across ice!' to 'I'm going across slippery frozen water on metal things with a severe risk of falling over! Hooray!' (that was sarcasm). So I went and sat down, to warm up. Then I went inside and grabbed a snack, and took my skates off. So Michael put them on, and had a go at skating. He was actually pretty good. Then Dad had a go, to prove to my brother that it was easy. Long story short; it wasn't. He didn't fall down, but he was still hilarious to watch. He apologised to my brother.

Around 2, I got home, and had some lunch. I then played some DS, and went to do my blog. After much procrastination on something I found called Conway's Game of Life (that was the Wikipedia link. Welcome back!), which is the nerdiest, most epic mathematics game you will ever see. I love it, others may not. I finished the post around 5:30, and then spent the rest of the night watching TV, reading, and blogging. I didn't get to finish Monday's post in time, so here I am on Tuesday morning, blogging.

To comments ahoy; one from one person.
*Karen: Reading too much? Preposterous! Thanks for the compliment, I often think I'm funny, but it's rare that others do. I would like 'Singstar Queen,' but I think my parents have had quite enough of me singing Queen as it is. I also started my English thing, though I've still got a bit to do. I like how it's going though.

Well, that was my Monday, which for a Monday was really good. It's going to be a big week this week, what with assignments and all. Hell, it's going to be a long month. Ah well.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!,
AB

Almost the End

The end of my five-day weekend specifically. And today was the epitome of those 5 days, as it involved a small amount of work, but a large amount of doing nothing. And this is partly post procrastination, extended by other things. See next post.

I woke up around 7, and went and watched some TV, and went on my laptop. After breakfast, around 8, I caused myself a lot of pain. In a long story short, I was pretending to be the Avatar (what? Nobody was watching and I figure powers like that would be awesome.), and 'earth-bending' caused me to whack my finger on a doorknob, thus making a blood blister pop up within 10 seconds and hurting me a lot. I am a very clumsy person. But, I knew that already. Around 9, Mum and I went to partly mow the lawns (I can't say no, or I don't get my magazine subscription renewed.). By 'partly,' I mean we just took the top of the grass off so the rest could dry (not my idea, of course), and we could mow it later. Apparently. As usual, I brought my iPod out, and I listened to some music. I listened to 'So Fresh: The Hits of Spring 2008,' which is quickly becoming a big favourite of mine (I mean, with 'Black & Gold,' 'Disturbia' and 'White Noise' on it, is a no-brainer).

When that was done, I went inside, and then for a while (read: 12 hours), I just played DS, went on my laptop and watched TV (Masterchef, the footy, and so on, obviously not in that order). Then around 9, as we didn't have to go to school on Monday, we all watched Rove. I love that show. Then I read for a while (I read a Bill Bryson book, and those are the funniest you will ever read), and then it was time for bed.

Hmm. I want to do another list. But I have no idea on what to do it. *thinks* Aha! Inspired by my previous paragraph, meet; my favorite authors, in no particular order:
*Bill Bryson: Just to get it out of the way. Funniest author I have ever read; his books are epic. Read them. Read them now.
*Brian Greene: You may not know who he is, but he writes about string theory. Me being a great big (figure of speech!) physics nerd, I love the books, but most others would not.
*Stephenie Meyer: This is one of those 'love-her-or-hate-her' topics. You either love the books (some occasionally worshipping them), or you despise them. I am in the former category; they are good books.
*Matthew Reilly: His books are full of action, they read really quickly, and he's Australian. What more can you ask for (answer: for his new book to be out sooner)?
*Jeffrey Archer: They are really well-written, they're in-depth, and he can write long books without going off-topic. That is the mark of a good author.
*Bryce Courtenay: Similar to Jeffrey Archer, but his books are inspiring as well.

To comments, quickly, I've procrastinated enough:
*Anonymous: Um... OK... you're either Shafi or C3, or both. I have no idea who. Now I'm confused. Anyway.

Well, that's my post. I apologise for the really late post, Monday's will hopefully be on time. In any case, I'll get back into the posting rhythm when school starts. I was a bit lax on the long weekend (but then again, isn't everyone?).

Sorry again for the really late post,
AB

Always AFL on Saturdays

Don't question it; it just seems to happen that way in our house. You can guarantee on any given Saturday my brother will play at least one game of footy, and we will watch at least one game of AFL. Unless of course it's summer, in which we play cricket. Though our family is more AFL-obsessed than cricket. And it's another post procrastination, I know. I know.

I woke up around 7, and I found that my brother was on the lounge. It turns out he was up since 3 in the morning, sick. So around 8:30, after breakfast and so on, we left for the doctor's. IT turns out that he has (maybe had) a 'raging ear infection.' And when a doctor refers to something as raging, that's always a problem. We probably should have gone home, but since a) it was Gala Day and b) my Dad's my Dad, we went to the footy. We got there about 9-ish, and EJ starting playing his games. I'm not all that excited by watching 11 year olds running around playing AFL (adults, yes. Kids, no. Not even that much when I was playing.), so I played my DS. A few hours later when it ran out of power (I forgot to charge it overnight), I scrounged around for things to do. I watched a small amount of EJ's game, and when that got boring (considering he was almost completely out of it, being sick and all, it wasn't too surprising), I started reading the book Mum brought with her, which thankfully was 'New Moon.' I read a bit of that, and Danni Bell also massaged my head for reasons unknown. I don't know why, but I'm not complaining. It was refreshing. Everything also looked blue for a time afterwards.

When we left around 2, and after I got home, I finished off Friday's post, and then went on MSN for a while. Then around 5:30, a few friends came over. Specifically, Paul, Debbie, Alan (EJ's coach) and Ethan (Alan's son). Then we all watched the Blues-Lions game, though EJ fell asleep a bit into the game, and Ethan fell asleep towards the end. I also talked with Debbie about my electives. She should be a politician; she made a persuasive argument, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Huh. Anyway. I might do what she said, but then again, I might not. I went to bed around 10, and here I am, blogging around 2-ish on Sunday.

Time for a list, I think. This one is Bad Lyrics in Good Songs (I thought of it while mowing the lawn on Sunday. All to be explained next post):
*'One Step at a Time' by Jordin Sparks: Bad Lyric: 'It's like learning to fly... It's gonna happen.' Nobody learns to fly; it is not going to happen. Have you ever seen someone fly? No, you have not. It is not going to happen, Jordin Sparks.
*'Just a Song About Ping Pong' by Operator Please: Bad Lyric: 'Just a Song About Ping Pong.' I loved this song when it was on the radio, and I was singing along (badly) to 'Just a Song About People!' I loved that part. When I found out what it was actually about, it changed from good and catchy to retarded and catchy. It's friggin' Ping Pong, Operator Please, and there is no reason to sing a song about it for no apparent reason.
*'Shine On, You Crazy Diamond' by Pink Floyd: Bad Lyric: Silence. Seriously, there is just music for over half the song. I remember listening and going, 'When are people going to start singing?' I get that some songs are made just for music (like classical), but in that case there should be no singing. Not going halfway like Pink Floyd does, and only singing for the last 5 minutes in a 13 minute song (no, really).

Now to comments, 1 from 1 person:
*Anonymous: My guess is Shafi (so I will refer to you in this comment as such). I thought C3 was you, but I wasn't certain. I love my humour as well, though it's rare that others do. Thank you! And thanks also for the compliments, and I'll try not to post too late.

Well, that was my Saturday. Sunday's post may or may not be a long one; we'll see.

Saturdays are fun,

A Nice Relaxing SDD

SDDs are really good, because you get days off school. That's a simple one. I also started that sentence, thought of a clever ending, looked up to the TV, and then promptly forgot it. Anyway. Fill in a humorous saying there. Moving on. And I know it's technically a late post, but I refuse to make a label denoting that fact, for the reason that weekends are made for post procrastination.

I woke up to the sound of the Kyle and Jackie O Show starting, meaning it was 6 in the morning. At this point I went, 'ohhh...' and tried to get back to sleep. Around 7, I said to myself, 'I'm never getting back to sleep, and I got up. I watched TV for a bit, and after Mum and EJ left for school and work, Dad and I went to Wattle Grove Shops to get breakfast. When we got home, after a long and time-consuming time with me trying to eat a cheese and bacon roll, Dad and I watched 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' over Foxtel. That is a good movie, I liked it. The only problem was that it reminded me too much of 'Forrest Gump.' Don't get me wrong, I loved 'Forrest Gump,' but when a movie is too reminiscent of another movie, you get a bit apprehensive (I apologise for the long words, that was the only way I could convey what I meant. And even then, it wasn't too clear).

Around 12:30, when the movie ended, I had some lunch, then got to work finishing off Thursday's blog post. I then started work on my assignment, and specifically, on transcribing a scene from the original Macbeth into a school cricket team. My favorite character: Mark Booth, who is a transformed Macbeth. Ben is Banquo, Rhys is Ross, Andy is Angus (though I might not change the name), and the 3 Witches are 3 Year 12 girls (I couldn't resist. No offence, but it just turned out that way. They're bimbos, so they talk, like, like this. But I'm giving away my project). When EJ got home, I played some DS, and went on my laptop. Then, until 11 (no, really), I just played DS, read on my laptop, read some of my magazine, and watched TV. I also cooked dinner, which I don't enjoy, and also seems to be becoming a common occurrence.

Now, I feel like a list. How about... things I do probably do too much of but that I don't care about:
*Questionable grammar: See the above sentence. I'm having trouble understanding it, and I wrote it. I don't do it in exams, but I do do it in blogs and conversation.
*Long words: I don't do it intentionally, just because they are the best words to use. Sometimes I will mean to use brobdingnagian verbiage so as to confound those who are ignorant of its meaning (long words to confuse people who don't know what I'm saying).
*Talk incessantly: Sometimes I can go on and on without actually saying anything, or alternatively, saying too much. I need to stop. I won't.
*Zone out: Especially if I'm looking at somebody or something. People think I'm weird... er.

Now to comments, quickly, before commenter 3 breaks something:
*Shafi: By 'Jaws' and 'Traintracks,' I meant for nicknames about my braces.
*Shafi: Don't ask me; ask them. I could say the same about you.
*Anonymous: It's all to do the weekends, Anonymous Commenter, the weekends! I blame society!

Now to finish, or Commenter 3 will hunt me down. Saturday's post will also be late. Not for any particular reason, except that it's a long weekend. Sorry, C3!

I'm enjoying the long weekend,
AB

Just Call Me Jaws: Part 2

In reference to this post, of course. I say it because today I got a day off school; but not for nothing. I had to go to the orthodontist to get the rest of my braces. Then tonight I went to the Year 11 Subject Selection Evening. So the late post is not really my fault. Or that's how I claim it.

I woke up at 6:30, and we all left for Shay's place around 7:45-ish. We dropped EJ off, and then we took Shay onboard. We dropped her off at school, and then we made our way to the orthodontist. As soon as I sat down, they called me up. They started by taking out the top spacers, and then I brushed my teeth. That's twice (including after breakfast). They then put the expander in, and the top wire. I left around 9:00 with my metal mouth completed, and attempted to talk. Attempted being the operative word. 'She sells seashells by the seashore' now turns out like 'She sells sisells by th'see saw.' Then, after going window shopping for a while (I was with Mum), we went to Wattle Grove Shops, and Mum made me get a haircut. I also had a donut; and found eating is also a problem. I've become everything I've ever hated!

When I got home around 12, I had lunch (with some difficulties), and then played some DS for a while. When my Dad got home, he saw my braces, and started freaking out. A lot. The conversation went something like this: 'Let's see... Oh my god!' 'Dad, relax.' He's worse than Mum when it comes to the towbar in my mouth (yes, I call it that. I've also heard the Terminator, train tracks, metalmouth, Jaws, and so on and so forth. I love the second and the fourth ones.). Then, while Dad and EJ went to training, Mum and I left for Subway so that I could eat before the Subject Selection Evening.

Eating at Subway was as all eating is now: long, drawn-out, and sadly difficult. Ah well. These things happen. When we got to Hurlstone, I talked to Eric, Mango and Shafi, and when we got inside, we all sat down together. Later Victor came, and he sat next to us as well. They told us about ranking, scaling, and stuff like that. What I expect to put down:
*English: I'm going to be talking to my teachers on what I should do. They'll pick for me; I'm not sure which I should do.
*Maths 2 Unit: Definitely not General. I will do 2 Unit; maybe extension. I'm still considering it.
Now, the electives, in order:
*Physics: This one is an obvious one. I love physics. Two of the electives for Physics are 'Astrophysics' and 'From Quantum to Quarks.' My nerdy sense is tingling!
*Economics: Money = good. I also did pretty well in Commerce last year (maybe this year, I'm not sure), so I think Economics is good for me.
*Chemistry: Atoms, the Periodic Table, so on and so forth. I'll enjoy Chemistry (though it will never, never be as good as Physics. Never.)
*Legal Studies: Law pays well, and I'm considering that. I'd prefer Science, but Law is a bit of a 'fallback.' I also have to read a lot.
And my reserves:
*Business Studies: It seems like an extension of Economics, so I'll probably do that. It's my main reserve.
*_______: I have no idea what my 6th elective is. I was thinking Senior Science, but I might get stuck with 6 units of Science. Maybe IPT, I'm still thinking about it. Engineering Studies is also a possibility.
After the Subject Selection Evening, I went home and wound down. I watched some TV and played some DS. I tried to blog, but I didn't get to finish. And here I am, Friday arvo, blogging.

Again, no comments, so this paragraph is the last. The next few posts may be short ones, so I might beef them up with lists. We'll see.
