Yes, more titling difficulties, it was a fairly average day. Except for the fact that it just kept raining. When I woke up it was raining, and it didn't really stop until about 12 hours later. But anyway. To my Wednesday, which may be the last school day I have this week. I will get to that in the last paragraph.
I got to school, and I immediately noticed the absence of two people: Ian and Victor. Ian showed up when the bell went, but Victor wasn't here. Huh. Role Call was reading 'Animal Farm,' and also getting a sponsorship form for the Walk-a-thon. I'll probably get my Dad to take it to work; they're going to sell the Memorial Forest, and my Dad's in the Navy. Plus, the person who raises the most money gets a prize, and the highest class gets a free trip to Luna Park. Epic win. Best school prize ever. Period 1 was Science, which was doing a brief amount of work, and then marking a few things. Mostly just some sheets. Basic stuff. Next was Computer Maths, or it would have been if the computers had actually been used. The point of Computer Maths is to use computers. How does Rawson not understand this? What we actually did was get our Maths results back. I got 34/39, which I'm happy about. There were some questions that I just stuffed up, and one on a topic we haven't done for months. But, it's about 87%, and I'm good with that. We also did some work on compound interest. This topic just seems to be calculator work.
Recess was the usual. I had good hands today; it's a welcome change. Period 3 was Ag, which was just writing some stuff down from the board, and answering some questions. They were poorly written questions, so we couldn't do much without pointing out that there were was no way of showing this without completely lying about the figures. So I got bored, and started to draw one of the people from the school diary. End result: good for me, bad for everyone else. That's not to say it was good to me; I tried drawing a girl and ended up getting a thing with a turban. It was supposed to be hair. It wasn't great. But, I know I'm not the best drawer. Everybody knows this. Lunch was also the usual. Then, since it was raining, basically everyone from Year 7 to 11 went down to the hall to watch a movie. We played a hand of 13, then actually watched the movie. It was 'Night at the Museum,' which has got to be the first decent movie they've shown. We ended at the part where it looks like Adam Sandler is about to be defeated. I have to see that movie again. Then, after school, I got home, did some work on my English assessment, and went on MSN for a bit, before I played some DS. Then, around 6:45, it was time for hapkido.
In today's lesson, we had Grandmaster Geoff, and he worked us fairly hard. There were a few memorable events: the return of the 'ball of death' (his name), which is simply drop it while running around and everyone gets some sort of exercise. We also did some killer stretching, and later we did some work on back-rolls and self-defence. I am getting there with back-rolls. I can do some, but I still need some practice. We also did some self-defence, and towards the end we all tried some unorthodox ones, like belt grabs and other strange ones like that. In one belt grab, I tried to turn out of it and the belt just span around me. That was funny. We finished around 8:15, and I got home around 8:45, after we (Jo, Shay and I) passed McDonalds and got sundaes (mmm, strawberry sundaes...). Then, when I got home, I started to blog. Unfortunately, however, I did not get to post in time. So here I am, around 7:30, blogging.
To comments now, 1 from 1 person.
*Shafi: I wasn't sure it was you, no. And in answer to your question, the belt above white (the one I am now) is orange. So I'll be trying to promote to orange.
Well, I'd best sum up. Things to do. I'm off Thursday; it's due to the orthodontist. All will be explained next post. Friday is a SDD, Monday is a public holiday, so that's a five-day weekend: awesome!
I love (incredibly) long weekends,
AB
