And it's not only because it was a Monday, or a late post; I'm used to them. No; it was because throughout my day, I had very bad luck. Except for one occasion, so it wasn't all bad. But mostly, yeah, I had bad luck. Anyway, to my day, where you can see the full extent of the unlucky things that plagued my day. Also, I should probably stop exaggerating. Ah well (Side note: I did have overdramaticising, which I think works better for what I'm trying to say, but has the downside of being, when Googled, pretty much only found on Urban Dictionary. What the hell, internet?).
Period 1 was English, in which we went through the book, like on Friday, to look for more examples of how the protagonist was an Odd One Out. I already pointed out the things wrong with that on Friday, so I won't continue, though I would like to point out something funny that happened. Jordan came in late, and his reason was, and I'm writing verbatim here: "chillen in the hood." No, seriously. What apparently happened is that someone else wrote it for him. It was still funny, any way you look at it. Period 2 was Maths, in which Mango and I played many games when we got bored, such as Tic Tac Toe (both of us forcing a draw every time), 3D Tic Tac Toe (on a 2D sheet of paper, no less), and most memorably, Minesweeper, which was played on a 5 by 5 board, and in which Mango tried to do the numbers first (it would have been easier to do mines first, but then, hindsight is 20-20). We then gave it to Justin to figure out, who got it after a while of thinking.
Recess was 13, although I also went to see Mr Pitt, as I was supposed to do on Friday (warning: nerdy science things abound). He started by pulling out two cylinders, both the same size, which was roughly the same size as my thumb, and both shiny. Indeed, looking at them, they were identical in all respects except one was a whitish colour and the other was a darker colour, both metallic. I first picked up the lighter one, which was very light (pun not intended; the former 'light' I mean as colour, the latter I mean as weight). As in, extremely light. Looks metallic, was about as light as foam. The second I went to pick up, the darker one, was almost absurdly heavy. As in, you wouldn't think it could possibly be that heavy, but it was. He revealed that the light one was magnesium, which has a density of about 1.7 g/cm³, and the heavy one was tungsten, density of around 19 g/cm³ (science is amazing). Apparently Robson had told him I had read 'Uncle Tungsten,' (Wikipedia article), and Pitt thus showed me the metals. He also showed me aluminium, which was slightly heavier than the magnesium, and niobium, which it seems not many people have even heard of, much less seen or held.
Period 3 was Drama (yes, I just took a paragraph to explain Recess), in which we made Greek masks, or, rather, masks reminiscent of the classic Greek mask, considering we were making them with cardboard, scissors, lead pencils and crayons gotten from the Art rooms. I did, like a lot of people, blind Oedipus, which I think was creative, although as art it's not too good. Well, as a great man (Douglas Adams, specifically) once said, "I think the idea of art kills creativity." Period 4 was Commerce, in which we went to the computer labs to write a letter to the editor of a newspaper complaining about youth unemployment. Except that we weren't supposed to research, just use what we knew. Which, as we haven't even covered youth unemployment yet, is little. Lunch was 13.
Period 5 was PE, in which the majority of my bad luck came in. We were playing Gridiron, and Chris threw a ball back to the pack, which I was in. They said 'Heads!' I didn't hear them or see the ball. You can sorta guess what happened. Bam! Right on the right side of my head. My whole ear went numb and I was very disoriented. Sadly, that was just the start of the mishaps. I tried to stop people going for the quarterback, so I held out my arms. But I kept coathangering
people. So I thought, 'I've had enough of this.' So I got into a horse-riding stance from hapkido, thus lowering my arms and centre of gravity and braced for the charge. This was one of the worst things I could have done. I dropped my arms about 10 cm. Girls were charging at me. What's about 10 centimetres below a girl's neck? Yes, those. Sophie charged right at my hand. It was an awful faux pas. Sophie looked at me, while my brain tried to decipher what just happened. Finally it clicked, my jaw dropped open, and I started apologising as much as I could. After that, I just stood to the side. Period 6 was a History exam, like those pre-tests we had been doing over the past few days. I finished with about 15 minutes to go (I get through those types of things pretty quickly), so I just doodled on the back of the sheet for a while.
When the bell went, we got home, and around 6:45, we left for hapkido. Shay was there, as was Shirisha, and she had gotten her uniform. Overall, it was a pretty good lesson, bar one thing. I tried to get my signature, my last signature: my back roll. Grandmaster Geoff's exact words? 'Within spitting distance.' If I had just extended my back leg slightly more, I would have gotten it. Almost. I almost had it. That's my luck. So come Wednesday, I will be going for it again, and I'll try to make a conscious effort to do that roll right. Orange belt is within sight, my friends; and I think I'm ready. When I got home, I blogged about Sunday, and I tried to start Monday's post, but I obviously did not get to do it. So here I am.
That was my Monday; full of mishaps. Sorry for the late post; I think I'm almost back on track and ready. I severely hope so, anyway. I'll see how it goes. Also, that title isn't so good. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe. Titles are notoriously fickle.
This is what Mondays do to people,

Monday Misfortune
I guess that could be taken as saying that Monday is misfortune (side note: is misfortunate a word? Sure it makes sense, but it doesn't really sound right. Or is the adjective unfortunate, since there is no noun for unfortunate. Anyway.). But I also had some bad luck. And I know it's an alliterative title, I do have an excuse for that. Something that goes "X and Y" is a bad title. "X Y" is better. Anyway. I'm getting off track a lot here. To my day, before I continue ranting in the opening paragraph.
Before school, I talked to John, Andy, Eric and Kevin about Battlefield Heroes in the weekend, and mostly how this guy called Pist0lbash (link) that we found in the servers (he was the guy getting 19 kills no deaths from yesterday) kept owning everybody. Period 1 was Science, in which we did some more recapping, as well as some work on mutations. Pretty standard stuff, no bludging or anything. Period 2 was Computer Maths. Or, rather, Maths in the computer labs. We were doing revision work, and I had the misfortune (dun dun dah!) to lose my calculator (I know; it's shameful. I've had that calculator for years. I think I can even remember getting it. Though that could be something else entirely.), and break both of my mechanical pencils, all in the space of 10 minutes. One was visibly stuffed, with the pencil lead visibly infiltrating the mechanics of the pencil and rendering it useless, and the other I have no idea why it doesn't work. It just does. So for most of the period, I borrowed Mango's pencil and calculator, and did some of the work.
Recess was the usual. Periods 3 and 4 were double Ag, and thanks to Schippers's wondrous announcement on Friday, none of us had to do our presentation. Instead, we just went up to the farm, like last double Ag. Unlike the last double Ag periods, however, Ebony went to talk to her group, so I went and listened to my iPod. It was mostly Monty Python and solitaire (a very good combination), but towards the end, it was some Abridged. Ebony then came to talk, which was awkward as I had to explain what Abridged was. Which is very hard. It's very hard to explain (and if you haven't seen it, see it. Now.). We then asked each other questions, as we do when we get bored. Lunch was 13.
Period 5 was English, in which the class started the in-class speeches. I did mine, of course, so I got the job of the timekeeper. Which involved clicking the stopwatch and dinging a bell. You would think this would be easy. But, no. There was an argument at the start about whether I should ding at 3 minutes or 3 minutes and 30 seconds. We settled at 3 minutes. More problems ensued when I went to ding the bell; and there was just a tap. Dinging a bell is not supposed to be a difficult task. But I seemed to make it hard to do. I got it in the end. Period 6 was History, which was just doing some work from the textbook. We're really starting to rush, and I'm not entirely sure why. Ah well. After I got home, I did a bit of work, and then it was time for hapkido.
Shay didn't come tonight, because there was problems with her diabetes (yeah, she has diabetes. I don't think I've mentioned that. Real-life spoilers!). Shirisha did come, however. The class itself was good, except for this: My rolls are awful. Well, that's not entirely true: Both of my front rolls are fine, or at least OK, and my left back roll is coming along well. But I try my right back roll, and I start thinking way too much, and my body doesn't sync up. Practice make perfect, I suppose. So when I got home, I blogged, but not enough. So here I am.
To comments now, 1 from 1 person:
*Karen: I'm not actually in IPT, I do Commerce. I was thinking of doing IPT, but I saw the try-out sheet, and I just put it down again. Glad I did, actually, after hearing my group's experiences in it. My days are actually really early; it sort of pans out that way in our family. The 'Hitchhiker's' movie isn't too bad, but it doesn't compare to the books. At all.
And that was my Monday. Sorry about the late post, hapkido and assignments got in the way. Ah well. That happens. Late posts might abound lately, with the Ag presentation. We'll just have to see.

Off to a Great Start
That was sarcasm, of course. It's the beginning of school, a Monday, and many little things went wrong. Mostly during the latter half of the day. I mean, my sports jacket broke (the whole left pocket is now mutilated), and I stuffed up several times in hapkido. Although, I did, finally, get the signature for my cross. But yeah. Just a lot of little things. Ah well. Stuff happens.
I woke up around 6 (I am going to kick this habit of telling people when I get up. This is the final day.), as I do on weekdays. I got ready, and I ended up getting to school at around 8:15. I then waited for people in the group to arrive, which was luckily only about 30 seconds. Eric came to the table first, then Kevin, Andy, and gradually people began to filter in. I talked about Battlefield Heroes with Kevin and Andy, Spore with Eric, and utter randomness with the whole group, when they got there (barring John and Victor, the former did not come and the latter was late). Example of the randomness: What if Shafi were Wolverine. This came about somehow and was the funniest thing I'd heard in a long time. Ah, how I missed school. Period 1 was English, which was talking about communism in Eastern Europe and how books were banned in America for retarded reasons (1984 is not about communism). Hancock also mentioned Kazakhstan, promptly making everybody bar two people laugh at the (intentional) reference to Borat. Which I am still to see. Maths was a lot of algebra combined with a bit of geometry. Just your standard A1 stuff, really.
Recess was 13, back to normal. I was on a big losing streak. I think I got the 3 of spades once, and did not win a single game. Period 3 was Drama, in which we did a slight amount of work on storyboarding. Cam and I also talked about 'End of the World.' It's a great song, and we both like it. At another point, the school duck came to the door (yes, we have a school duck), and we pointed it out to Kolodziej. Who promptly said: 'It's not a duck, it's a pelican.' If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it's a duck (it was, in fact, a duck. Pelicans have a gigantic beak. This small water bird did not.). Next was Commerce, which was supposed to be doing the various pros and cons of casual employment, but which turned into talking about the various jobs people have, and what Kearney used to do before he was a teacher, and before he was a lawyer.
Lunch was more 13, and in which I continued my losing streak. Although there was a very funny hand. Andy had quad 2, but we played anyway. At one point he played double 2, expecting to win easily. Eric then got him with a double bomb, winning the game. It was epic. I won one game in this round. Well, maybe tomorrow. Periods 5 and 6 were double PE, in which we did some work on that game from a while ago called Tchoukball. It was mainly skills, though towards the end we did do a game of it. We were disadvantaged against the other team, as it was 6 against 5. And then Matt sat out, so it was 6 against 4. We were losing badly (the score was something like 9-3), until Wilson called out 'Last goal wins!' At that point, we had possession of the ball, and Tan threw it at the trampoline. Everybody crowded around a single point, and then Alan shot up into the air, and caught the ball. We won. Then, it was time to go, and I got home about 3:30. Around 6:45, we left for hapkido.
Shay came today, as did Shirisha. So I introduced Shirisha around, to Nick (who came after taking a break over the holidays), Amadeus, Vivian, and of course, Shaylee. The lesson itself was more of a skills one, focusing on the techniques rather than anything else. I learnt that my collar grab needs a bit of work, but that my cross is improving. So much, in fact, that I got my signature, on my third try. Third time's the charm, I suppose. We finished around 8:20, but we stayed so that Shay could get her second tip. I blogged after hapkido, but I didn't get to finish in time. So here I am, blogging the following morning.
There are no comments (sort of unsurprising), so this is the last paragraph. Today wasn't so much a bad day, but it wasn't not a bad day. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, really. And this post itself wasn't too bad: finally something longer than 600 words. Tomorrow's post might be a bit shorter though; ah well.

Lost and Found
I refer to my iPod, which was lost, and eventually found. It was the main event of my day. If it hadn't have been found, then I would be in deep trouble. Mainly because my iPod is nearly always with me, and it's a good release valve. But, I'm off topic. To my Monday, which was both better and worse than I expected.
I blogged before school, and then went to get my stuff to bring to school. And something struck me: my iPod was nowhere to be seen. Not in my room, not in my bag, not anywhere. I panicked. When Mum found out what I was looking for, she lost it (meaning she got angry. She didn't literally lose anything. That would be a very cruel coincidence.). We got to the station late because of it, and I ran for the train. The train was late. Very much so. So I ran all that way for nothing. Goddamn. Before school, I talked with people, and tried to remain calm. Period 1 was Ag, in which we drew for the order in which we would do our Ag assignments next term. I'm either 6th or 7th (and what's 6 x 7? 42!), depending on how Schippers is going to run it. Next was Geo, in which Johnson tried to get us to do a definitions quiz. But, luckily, she forgot to tell us on Friday, so we're doing it tomorrow. Thank god. More time to prepare.
Recess was not actually 13, but just talking. Call me crazy, but I didn't feel like 13. (Yes, I know. No, I'm not kidding.) Period 3 was Maths, in which we did some work on congruent triangles. Which, like most things is Maths, is essentially doing the same thing over and over, with a slight twist. But this class was especially a bludge, as Rawson ended up going on Geometer's Sketchpad to show us stuff. Next was Science, in which we watched videos about reproduction in cells. Also a bludge. These things happen. Lunch was talking about random things, as well as the odd game of 13.
Period 5 was Commerce, in which we had Cody instead of Kearney. In that, we just worked from a sheet. I also did my Science homework. Well, why not? Last was English, in which we did more comparisons between Animal Farm and the Soviet Union. After the bell went, I caught the bus home, and I spent the time at home doing some blogging, and I finally found my iPod. It was in my pants pocket in the washing machine, that wasn't put on yet. So a really, really close shave there. But, all's well that ends well. Then, after going on MSN and a bit of blogging, around 7, we left for hapkido.
In this session, I got 2 signatures, thus giving me 18 signatures. Only 6 to go before I can become an orange belt. Hooray! Today we did some work on evasion and self-defence, among other things. I finally fixed up my back rolls, and I taught a guy some of the aforementioned evasion and self-defence. Today was a great day. Apart from the iPod losing, of course, but apart from that, it was really good. After I got home, I blogged a bit, and here I am, a day late, blogging.
To comments, 3 from 3 people.
*Victor: Stop bagging the movie. I liked it, and I wasn't a die-hard Transformers fan. Accept it for what it is, not what it could be.
*Ebony: I'm not quite sure about which part to respond to about this comment. I think I've covered all of it in previous comments. But yes. I got another commenter.
*Anon: Who are you, Anonymous Aeroplane?!
And that was my Monday. Overall a good day, but it could have been better. But, I suppose, that's how life goes. Win some, lose some. Anyway. I'm starting to get philosophical, which means it's time to end the post.

The Drama Assessment
Yes, that's right, it was our group's Drama assessment today. Expect a long bit about it, and a rant on the journal (bloody Kolodziej and his... wait. I'm not there yet.). Also a bit about hapkido. Anyway. Also a late post; hapkido ran late. I also blame society (Of course!).
I woke up today to the sounds of my brother, as he was going to his Year 6 camp today, and getting back on Wednesday. If I can say a touch selfishly, it's really good timing. I can't afford distractions from this bloody Drama J... Back to the topic. How about I just scatter my rant through the blog? That would save time. Before school, I said goodbye to my brother for a few days, and then I finished off Sunday's post. Something I have realised: Blogging before the next day is not the be-all and end-all. It's preferable, certainly, but not necessary. Anyway. Period 1 was Geography, which was doing more work from the textbook. It's fairly simple: read the question, refer back to the text, answer question. Repeat. Just basic NTR work. Period 2 was Science, which was doing some more work on waves, and some work on optical fibres. Robson showed us this device which had optical fibres sticking out of it, like hair, and a light from below. It's hard to explain, but long story short, it looked pretty awesome. He also showed us what happened when you shine a laser pointer into a block of perspex (answer: total internal reflection resulting in the whole block glowing, and the further confirmation that I want a laser pointer).
Recess was practicing for the Drama assessment. (I played one hand of 13 for the entire day. I feel so... un-me.) Period 3 was Ag, which was doing some work on goats. It wasn't hard work; I forgot I had it, so I read for most of the period. Then finished the sheet in 10 minutes. Period 4 was PE, in which we didn't have Wilson. I was looking forward to another period of doing nothing, but the sub came. And went. And came again. All the while, we're doing work that seemed pointless and probably was. But still, it was a bludge (memorable moment: Norris walking in and asking 'Do you have a teacher?' I expect if we had said no, he'd come in and teach. I wouldn't know if that was good or bad.) By the end of the period, I just ended up reading.
Lunch was more work on the Drama assessment. Period 5 was Maths was starting a new topic on something called Deductive Geometry, which doesn't sound good. But we might be able to go on Geometer's Sketchpad, so I suppose it isn't all bad. Then, it was Period 6: The Drama Assessment. First, it was Shane's group, which was funny, but less funny than I expected. Then, when they were finished, it was our turn. We started off with Pradeepti forgetting some of her lines, though it wasn't too obvious. Then it was time for Scene 2. That was pulled off pretty well, though there was a slight mix-up of lines. It still worked out pretty well though. Scene 3 ran really smoothly. Scene 4 was fine as well. And that was our play. A short few lines? It was a short play. Shorter than I'd expected or realised. Although come to think of it it was long enough. Now all that's left to be done is the Drama Journal. Though that's probably going to be easier than I thought. And when the bell went, I caught a ride home. At home, I did the Drama journal. I have a better feeling about it, but it's still going to be a fair bit of work. And around 6:45, we left for hapkido.
Shay was here today, and so I was partnered with her. The class today was focused on a technical side, after the effects of this year's Hell Camp (I wasn't there, obviously. But form what I heard it was... well, hell.). I learnt today that I need to step less on my crosses, and that my rolls need some work. My kicks, however, are getting there. After class, Grandmaster Geoff ran through signatures. I finished all of my grabs, and he also surprised me on hapkido theory (circular motion, water theory, non-resistance). So now I have 13 signatures, and I'm one away from a second tip. I am now 9 days, 1 class, and 11 signatures away from an orange belt. It's on the horizon. At home, I blogged a bit; but it wasn't enough. So here I am.

Well, that was my Monday. Tuesday may or may not be a late post, depending on the Drama journal. But apart from that, no real reason to be.

It's Always Mondays
I'm not sure if the grammar in that is right. But it's 9 on Monday night. I can be excused from grammatical sense. But, anyway. To my Monday.
Before school, I talked to Ebony about the Drama project (of which the script is done, thanks to Pradeepti), and the Drama journal. That's gonna be a weekend thing. I also handed in my English assignment before school, because I forgot to bring a rubber band. Period 1 was Science, which was doing more work on that induction coil from Friday. We also did some work on electromagnetism. Next was Computer Maths, which was, in fact doing Maths on the computers. But it was just rote Excel work. I do not enjoy that type of Computer Maths, especially when I can't get on the internet or go on Geometer's Sketchpad. Even when work is done. Bloody hell. Recess was the usual.
Periods 3 and 4 were double Ag, which was going down to the goat shed to vaccinate the goats. I also talked to Hewie, Alan and Ebony about the social tomorrow; I'm still not sure if I'll come as anything. I'll have to see. I have a few ideas, but... anyway. We were vaccinating goats. I also confirmed something I have suspected: Goats hate me. It's not that they do anything to me, it's just they make life frustrating. It took me something like 8 goes just to vaccinate one goat. I had to pick the only one with no skin to grab, and to top it off it just kept moving. When I went to hold them, they even pulled away. It was annoying. But I ended up vaccinating it. I also talked to people about the quality of teachers in the school. For some reason. The conversation just veered on to that subject, as well as my brother coming to Hurlstone and private schools comparing to selective schools. Don't ask me why, it just did.
Lunch was 13, except I actually had a fairly good winning streak. So did Eric. He only got out once. Bloody hell. Period 5 was English, of which the first part was talking about the exam. I got good signs, and I got bad signs. I'll have to see the actual exam. We also listened to more scenes from Macbeth, and I really hope it's better on stage. Because if it's anything like the way it is on tape, it isn't going to be very good. It's not bad as such, but it's unprofessional and it sounds too much like they're reading from a script. Anyway. Period 6 was History, which was just doing work out of class. And while I was out of class for about 5 minutes, I saw people from Holsworthy High, presumably here for something like cross country. I didn't think much of it, except as a curiosity - yet. When tying my shoe, I heard a voice that called 'AB!' Without thinking I looked up, and saw these 5 Holsworthy kids, who promptly went 'You went to Holsworthy!' and went for a hi-5. At this point, I thought 'Why me?' People always seem to know me, and I have no idea who they are. It's happened time and time again. It gets really frustrating. Anyway. When the bell went, I went home, and then celebrated having no English project by watching TV and going on my laptop. I'll probably get in to my Drama journal around Thursday, when I actually have a decent time to do it after school.
Around 6:45, I left for hapkido. This lesson, I snuck a signature in, and also learnt just how long I have been gone. My kicks are worse than they were, my rolls have degenerated a bit, and Dylan is now an orange belt. From now on, no extended breaks if I can help it. But, there is some semblance of normality, as Grandmaster Geoff is still there and Nick is still a white belt. If I make it to orange belt before him, I will be slightly ashamed.
As there are no comments, this is my last paragraph. Tomorrow's post will be a late one, because of the social (hooray for the social!). I also noticed something on the horizon, on my word count: It's gradually nearing 100,000 words. Which comes to something like 700 words a post. When I started I was lucky to get 350. Anyway. Something of interest, to nobody but me.

Half-Yearlies '09: Agriculture
Well, this is it. The big one. Ag exams and I don't get along well. This is the way it's always been. In other news, Victor and Ebony begin their comment strike for reasons unknown. All this and more, in today's edition of AB: A Blog (cue the theme music. Wait, I don't have theme music. I need theme music. I am weird.).
Period 1 was Science, which was trying to get an electric motor, much like this post here, back in March. That met with limited success, going through 4 paperclips, about 3 coils of wire, and other assorted materials. The best we got was the coil spinning for about 10 seconds at voltage setting 4, which involved several sparks. We also ran into other, more retarded problems, such as touching the wire while it was on (Alan), and attempting to make the motor go when the wire wasn't even attached (all of us). We tried fixing up the motor, moving the magnet, turning up the voltage, when I looked to the left and realised the wire was unattached. It was a period of unsuccessfulness, which surprisingly is actually a word. Proof. Next was Computer Maths, which would have been fun, except Rawson wasn't here, so we were stuck with some substitute teacher. It was brilliant planning, with about 6 people bringing Maths textbooks, to share with 30 people. So that was a complete and utter bludge. I spent some of the time cramming for Ag, and more time working out the formula for Pac-man (I got as far as his mouth is between 70 and 80 degrees before it set in that what I was doing was completely pointless). It was a long Maths lesson.
Recess was more 13, with John, Andy and Kevin. Period 3 and 4 were double Ag. The first part of the lesson was spent talking to Ebony, as Corinne wasn't here (and neither was Victor). She somehow made me taste a leaf (long story short, I have no idea), and the 'secret/question' game came to real life, with significant problems on my part on trying to think of a question. I spent 10 minutes trying to think of one, and in that I was yelled at by Ebony (scaring the hell out of me, and presumably Schippers behind us), and annoyed by cows. The question wasn't even good. If you are reading this Ebony, I can't think of questions, and for the love of god comment. The second part of the period was spent cramming, which was fairly successful. It was pretty repetitive, and I zoned out more than once. I need to stop doing that.
Lunch was more 13, with me winning only once, I think, through a sheer fluke. I had pretty average luck. Period 5 was English, which was spending the first 20 minutes trying to study (though it degenerated quickly). We then spent 10 minutes reading through a bit of 'Macbeth,' and then it was time to go to the hall for our exam. I spent essentially the whole thing in 'go,' as I realised that 'ready' could really hurt my chances. Although, it was a fairly short test, so I didn't get up to 'zoom.' I finished with something like 15 minutes to go, and spent that time checking my answers, writing my name, and signing things in pencil. I got bored. It was easier than I thought it would be, but it wasn't easy, if that makes sense. All I can say is I hope I pass, because I don't like Ag exams (though this one could be an exception). At home, I studied a bit for Science, as well as talking on MSN with Victor, Ebony and Amy, though not all at once. Around 6:45, we all left for hapkido.
Grandmaster Geoff got back today, who has become a Grandmaster over the 6 weeks he has been away. And he has learnt things from his trip, with no slacking at all allowed. There was little respite. But, it was a great session, as I went through a lot of drills, and Grandmaster Geoff is funny. I learnt that: I really need work on my kicks; I really need to learn how to backroll; and it is not fun forward rolling on an injured elbow (maybe injured is over-doing it. But it is not in perfect condition.). We finished around 8:30, and when I got home, I virtually went straight on my laptop, so that I could blog about my day before bed.
To comments, or rather, comment. Victor and Ebony insist on not commenting, for some bizarre reason, and I thought I wouldn't get any. But, I'd like to thank Amy for her support. Hooray for you! (Boo to you two. Comment, people!)
*Amy: Thank you, it would look sad if my comment section went by without a comment. And take that indeed, Ebony and Victor! My comment section remains unempty!
Well, that was my Monday. The only exams left are Science and Maths, and I'm fairly confident about both (well, more so than Ag). Again, I'd like to thank Amy, boo Ebony and Victor for not commenting, and I remain semi-hopeful about the Ag exam. I will be looking forward to Thursday afternoon. Much celebrations will be had.

Half-Yearlies '09: Geography and History
This is my new template for exams: Type of exam - Year: Subjects. The reason for this being that it is quicker to write and time is saved for writing and less for thinking up titles, as exam time is very 'rush-rush.' To my Monday, of which the exams, unfortunately began.
I was driven to school by my Mum, and when I got to the table it was straight to cramming. However, it is hard to cram for two exams at once, so I did my best, reading some of my Geography assessment and History book. When the bell went, I went straight to the hall (wait a minute... I didn't get my pencil back from Victor! Damn my forgetfulness!), and went to go sit down. The exams, as usual for Geo and History, were combined, with 2 periods devoted to both exams. I did my Geo multiple choice, some of the extended response, then skipped to History, did that multiple choice, some definitions, and then went and finished the Geo extended response while still in the 'go' period of exams (there are three stages, in my opinion, 'ready,' 'go,' and 'zoom.' Ready is when you're going through the exams and you're doing a bit of a medium pace, in the start. Go is when you're writing quickly and sensibly, which occurs in the middle. It is the most productive. Zoom is when you realise you have ten minutes to go and you start to write as fast as you can, remembering, or not, at an alarming rate. But, I'm way off topic now.). I then went to the History, doing the extended response, when 'zoom' kicked in and I flew by the pages. All in all, I think I did pretty good in Geo, and fairly well in History. My opinion, anyway.
Recess was unwinding with a few games of 13, in which my luck was disastrous, being haunted by the three of clubs. On the deal when the bell went, I had four aces in my hand. Bloody hell. Period 3 was Commerce, which was studying for tomorrow and making notes a-plenty; I think that studying off the sheet given is the right way to go. I'm not too confident, but I think Commerce will be bearable. Period 4 was Science, which was doing more experimentation on electricity. More work is being done... next period (either Wednesday or Thursday. Wait, scratch Thursday. I'm getting braces on. Oy vey.). Lunch was playing some games of 13 (continuing my horrific luck), as well as talking to Victor and Ebony. I am growing gradually aware of my third-wheel status, and so if one of them want me to leave (which is understandable, we all need privacy), I will leave (this I vow, Ebony and Victor.). I was also a major retard at Lunch saying things that didn't make sense, or indeed using any higher brain functions. It was basically my brain going 'Exams are enough, just... just see if you can work by yourself for a bit.' I hate when my brain does that.
Period 5 was English, in which we had Jones, and was spent acting out (really just saying) the scene where Banquo dies. Pretty much of a bludge, a relief from the first 2 periods. Last was History. We had McAlpin instead of Johnson, and it was in the library annexe. We were supposed to be watching a DVD, but the TV only had a video player and the computer didn't work (yeah). So I spent the time working a bit on my book, as well as more 13, with Tan, Alan and Hewie. I didn't have the best luck, but it wasn't the worst luck either; it was fairly average. When the bell went, and after I got home, I studied for Drama (it is hopefully going to be easy, but I doubt it. Theory is really hard in Drama, as it's so prac-based. It's a bit like Woodwork in that respect; and I didn't do great in Woodwork.), and when I finished that, watched a tape of 'Rove' and played DS. I did that for a while, until around 6:45, I left for hapkido.
Hapkido today was supposed to be getting signatures, by Shaylee's insistence, but she forgot her book. So we didn't. Anyway. We had Sir Jimmy, who is a really good teacher, but who kicks our asses in class, almost literally. It was a hard training, but he straightened up a bit of my cross and turning kick. A lot of practice is needed, for me, but I have high hopes. When I got home around 8:45, I almost went straight on my laptop, and here I am, blogging as fast as my hands can type.
To comments, 2 from the 2 people who commented last time. Hooray for you two!
*Victor: I swear I didn't mean that, I didn't think the paragraph was that long. My bad. And you, I think, are cool (guess who isn't? Me!)
*Ebony: No, you didn't miss much important, but you know as well as I do that I talk about AFL a fair bit. Get used to it. And yes, I must go on about British comedy, it is what I do. It is awesome, end statement. Watch it. I was noticing how much I have started to mention you; it is freaking me out just a bit (read: a lot.). Why, is probably because you are a very unique person (it's a compliment. Sorta.). Did you just call yourself a bigger nerd than me? Shame on you! And, give in to the 'Second,' it is inevitable.
I'll finish up, I've been posting for way longer than I planned to. Tomorrow is Drama and Commerce, and I am in two minds about both of them. Rest assured that they will be heavily crammed for; as I must.

That's Monday For You
It was a crazy, crazy day. Bloody Mondays. All this shall be explained.
I was dropped off at school by my Dad around 8:20, and for the before school random conversation, we talked about 'Scissors-Paper-Rock-Lizard-Spock,' as well as who Spock is (Eric didn't know), and other such random topics. More people need to see Monty Python. This I know. Period 1 was English, in which we got a sub, and was pretty much a bludge (we didn't even get in the classroom until 15 minutes in.). Next was Maths, which was doing some revision work on factorisation and such (and actually involved work. It was just the right kind: some thinking, but not much.). Recess was 13, with Eric's cards. This was slightly annoying (well, more than slightly), because they just excluded me (it wasn't malicious, let me get that clear. It was all in good fun.). I also kept mispronouncing words ('Sut up' springs to mind), which was also very annoying. But fun.
Period 3 was Drama, which was doing more of our characters. If I remember correctly, Rutherford (or Pickle, if you like) was an old man who fought in a war ('I fought and died for you!'), and disliked all technology and young people. Very funny. Emma did a rehash of the Bondi bimbo (also funny), and then I decided I would do my 'Viktor Ivanovich Stanislav' impersonation. Rest assured several jokes were made about me being apparently Communist. In fact, most questions were about that. But, apparently, my accent was pretty good (I didn't think it was that good, but there you go.). Next was Commerce, which was doing some work on capital punishment up at the computer labs. That was another bludgy period. Lunch was playing 13, again (and I'm surprised I played as much as I did).
The last two periods were PE (how do you like these paragraphs, Ebony?), which was another session of AFL. First we did some drills, and for one of them, you had 2 goes to try to get into one of the squares set out on the field through kicking or handballing, and if you got it in one, you got a number of Redskins depending on which square it got in. I was the only one in the class who got it in (pure luck, I aimed for one square and got the one next to it), and now Wilson owes me 3 Redskins. I collect them on Wednesday. Sweet. Then we played some actual games. I was in a team with Courtney, Andrew and Corinne, so we won both our games. Michelle was also in, and she did OK (better than me in any sport besides AFL). Ebony was also in our team, and I don't really want to get in to how well she did. If you want to fill people in in the comments, then go for it. For the last 10 minutes or so, we played a big game, with the whole class involved. I think that ended up in a draw. Then, when I got home, I got into my Geo assessment (I'm still to do half a page more on Q1 and 2, and a page on Q3). Then around quarter to 7, it was time to go to hapkido.
Today's hapkido class was a stand-out one, in that my uniform actually stayed fairly done up (and if you do hapkido, you know that's hard.). I mean, towards the end it was pretty loose, but all in all... Anyway. I found out the woman black belt's name (Tina, I think), and I've also taken a liking to multiple grabs. They're fun to do (the only downside was that the teacher we had didn't allow locks on white belts. Damn, they're fun, even if they hurt.). I also learnt that my kicks need a lot of work. So I'll have to do some practice on them. Near the end of hapkido, Shay told me that I'm apparently going to the disco with a friend of hers, Kyona, on a date. Now, she told me that tonight, and hasn't told Kyona yet. I'm not sure if she's taking the piss out of me. But, I can't wait for the disco.
Comments: 2 from 2 people. Let's get to it.
*Mango: Why bother? Because it's awesome. And I have seen some episodes of 'Some Mothers,' and it seems pretty good. Hmm.
*Ebony: Yes, you are awesome. There. I said it. And I love the idea as well, it is now my deciding game of choice (I hope people get that.). I love the song as well, it shall soon be on my iPod. And we did not name our fish, and can't distinguish between them anyway. Weekends do not suck. Maybe I should make a list of things I disagree with you about. It would include weekends, 42 and Stephenie Meyer. To name a few. Anyway.
I'll have to finish now; I'm posting as fast as I can. Tomorrow I'll probably do a lot of work on that Geo thing, and I'll hopefully get around to some of my book. Hopefully.

Monday Madness
It was strange kind of Monday. Everything was, to plagiarise myself, slightly surreal. I'll get to all about how. Right now.
I woke up around 6:15 (which is sleeping in for me), and then had to run around to do everything before I had to go. I actually ended up finishing early, but then I had to do my History homework, which I didn't do over the weekend. I finished that around 7:40, and spent the rest of the 20 minutes or so on my laptop, as I do.
Skip to school, and Period 1 was Ag, which was doing some work on goats, and then after finishing, doing some work on my book. I'm just trying to think of a reasonable way that the protagonists can defeat the antagonist. There's got to be a simple way. 'Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler,' said Albert Einstein (because I had to work that in there.). Next was History, which was doing some work on the changing rights of Aboriginals, and it ended up that the homework we had, not many people actually did. Of course. Recess was cards, as usual, and showing Shafi how to play 13. He picked the rules up pretty quickly, but his strategy has something to be desired. But in all fairness, you can't teach strategy. Period 3 was Maths, which was doing work on volume. Mango had my Maths textbook again. I really have to stop leaving it behind. Anyway. Period 4 was Science, or at least it should have been. Before classes started, I talked to Victor and Kevin, who were in the class in front of me, when Ebony 'attacked' Victor again. I should probably get used to this (the lucky bastard. I could get into a big rant about him getting somebody, but I won't.). In the end, no teacher showed up, so the period was spent listening to music on my iPod, working on my book, playing cards to myself (like Solitaire), making card houses (which are really fun to do), and in the end, I was playing 'Go Fish' with Sophie, when the bell went. When I stood up, grabbing my bag, I could feel the backpack falling. 'What the hell?' I shouted, dropping everything, and looking at the wreck that was my bag, one strap come clean of the bag itself. Crap. That was an awesome bag too. Just my luck. Lunch was playing cards again, 13 and 31 both. I got a quad 7. Awesome.
Period 5 was Commerce, which was doing a class debate on 'Should the Legal Drinking Age be Lowered to 16?' of which the answer is obvious, but the arguments not so much. Last was English, which was reading some of Macbeth (I would have enjoyed it if Ebony were Lady Macbeth instead of Witch 3. But, that's only because of Tournament of Minds. I like that. But, I'm off topic.), and watching a DVD. When you watch it, it makes more sense, but I still had trouble working out what they were saying. Well, that's what you get for the play being over 400 years old. Still good though. When I got home, I went on my laptop, until it was time for hapkido.
There weren't many people tonight, and we had the woman black belt (I don't know her name. I'll get it eventually. My memory of names is not so good, as most people know.), so we got our asses kicked. At least 50 push-ups in the first 10 minutes or so, and her favourite drill, Jab-Cross-Duck. It's tiring, but it's good (and me saying exercise is good just shows how awesome hapkido is.). I had to teach a new guy called Ben some self-defence, which was really fun, as usually I'm the one being taught. After that we did evasion, and I think I did pretty well. Every attack I got out of fairly quickly. It's great, hapkido. And here I am, blogging as fast as I can, before I go to bed.
One good thing about not too many comments: less stuff to write, and the quicker it takes (it's no complete compensation, but it's something.) Two yesterday, from Victor and Ebony.
*Victor: I don't like double brackets. Call me strange that way; I don't like them.
*Ebony: Someone else thinks blog is a weird word. I'm not that strange! (Weirdly enough, I'm slightly disappointed. Strange is good.) And making my day interesting: cool. I'm even awesomer! And it's true, nobody wants to hear me sing (well, I do, but I don't think that counts.). And I did not 'say it anyway,' I only hinted heavily. I couldn't resist. Second, you want. Second.
That was my Monday. It was manic, it was mad, but it was m... mega-awesome (hooray, I got it! I almost said mawesome. Damn, that's a good word. 'Mawesome.' This is just me being 'different' here.). Tomorrow should be also a big post, as I find out if I get braces or not. Crap. Well, here we go.

So Much To Do, So Little Time
Example 1: This post. I have hapkido in less than an hour, so I have to post quickly without only writing 300 words. Example 2: Projects and so forth. Commerce is going at a snail's pace, and my short story may have hit a wall (translation: help!). You'd think the last week would be quiet. Ah well. Now to my day.
Jo drove me to school, and when I got to school, not many people actually commented on my haircut. Probably because I was wearing my hat; it's for the best. Period 1 was Maths, where we did quadratic equations. A1: not all it's cracked up to be (or alternatively, everything you'd expect.). The bell rang 10 minutes early, and Mango took the opportunity to run. When the intercom said back to class, everyone came back: except for Mango. He'd made a dash for freedom. Bloody hell. Next was Drama, which was talking about Shakespeare, and getting back our assessments (well, not me. I got mine. But most people.). An island of bludging in a sea of work. Recess was just 13, as usual. Period 3 was Commerce, in which Kearney gave us time to work on our assessments. Thank god, I needed that. Next was Science, and Robson wasn't there again (methinks he's left already.) That was more work. *sigh* I long for bludgier times. Lunch was 13, as it always is. Period 5 was English, which was fleshing out the finer details of my short story. In other words, not intensive work, but work nonetheless. Last was History, which was answering question after question. It was just too much. Not a great Monday. When I got home, I had to do more work on my Commerce and English stuff. Friday will be a day of celebration, I think. Then after a while, it was time for hapkido. I can actually write this, which is a first, since I'm on my computer. Here goes.
Today was a departure from the usual drills. The class of green belts and up was mixed with us, so everybody from no uniform to black belts were there. Master Jeff showed us some holds and so forth that seemed pretty high-level, but were actually fairly simple (some were very difficult though). I also met a girl called Rebecca. It was her first lesson, and I was paired with her after it was decided that Nick is too short to be an adequate partner to me. She was really nice, and I felt a bit like a teacher. It made me feel pretty good, and we really hit it off. The lesson ran really over time; it finished 30 minutes late. But for the best, I say.
Now to comments, and I got... 22!! It was 14 when I left for hapkido! That's higher than the last 4 days combined. Obviously I can't do all of these individually, so I'll lump some together.
*Ebony: There's a permanent jukebox in my head too, but it doesn't match up to actual music, I say. You can't distract an iPod.
*Victor (x6): Word verify confusion. You're also confusing other people. Random much?
*Karen: Way too much time on his hands. Thanks for the sunshine comment, that made me fell pretty good. And how is Mahfouz exciting? He's one of only a few teachers who made me want to go to sleep (Others: My Year 6 teacher, and Ms Arriola.)
*Dad (presumably): Not Dire Straights, though I will look into Elton John and Billy Joel.
*Shafi: My bad, I thought it was your iPod. My mistake. I don't have a blazer, but I do have a bomber jacket. One of 3 in the school, I think. Call me crazy, I don't like jumpers. And there's nothing wrong with technologically backward, though I wouldn't be able to stand it. Just me though.
*AC (x2): I woke up at 6. My hour was spent awake. I thought it was 7. I wake up too early. I've never heard of Singstar Queen, though I don't think my family wants me to have an excuse to sing more Queen. And I don't think Victor has issues, so much as he's very random. Which is awesome, but 6 comments is way too much. And I got rid of word verify.
*Victor: Not a nutcase. But something.
*Ebony: Maybe it does. Lol.
*Shafi (x5): Word verify is gone. Titanium is an element. No idea about that Happy Guy thing.
*Victor: You and me both. And, yes, sign up: things will be easier.
*Corinne: A LOT of comments. Almost too many (if there were such a thing). And I know a lot of anonymous people, but it's usually not anonymous if you know how they write (and if they write their name. That helps. LOL.) And 1gb doesn't seem enough for me, I've filled about 3.
That was an intensive post. Usually I wouldn't post this late, but I was allowed to, so I figured, why not. No promises for any other day, it's probably going to be a one-off thing.
I need way more time,

Save Me (From Exams)
OK, I swear, no more Queen songs, maybe. (And, wow, I'm even using brackets in titles now.) Back to school, and guess what? I forgot there was an exam. Well, at least the rest of the day was a bludge. Let's see what happened today...
I got dropped off at school by my Dad (because he doesn't go back to work until tomorrow), and we talk about our weekends. Eric listened to my iPod. And I find out about the English exam. That came as a shock, I'll say that. Period 1 is Geography, which involved doing a crossword. And by doing it, I mean the class did some, then asked Johnson for the rest of the answers. And by the rest, I mean all (even bludging can be bludged). Next was Science, and Robson was away, again (sounds like musical chairs: teacher style). Instead we had Contado, the permanent substitute. We did some questions, not too difficult, and then I realise my iPod's not in my top pocket where it should be. I check my pockets, and all I can feel is my green book. At this point, I start to get worried. No matter, it's probably in my bag. I go out to check: it's not in there. Panic starts. I run into the classroom, to see if it's there, pulling apart everything on my table as fast as I can (and getting strange looks by at least one person in the process). I run back out, and start ripping everything out of my bag. I make one last look in my pockets: and there it is. (I swear sometimes I feel like a retard.) Recess was spent talking to everyone. Period 3 was Ag, and Schippers returned. We spent the period doing the worksheets fairly half-assed, and correcting the work from the entirety of last week. (You'd think he'd leave answers.)
Next was supposed to be PE, but instead it was the exam. The English one. The one I didn't study for. Cue the dramatic music! We get to the class, and our teacher is the new English one replacing Manyweathers, the one with the hyphenated name that stretches from here to Perth and back again. We get our exams, and she puts on the video (again, not DVD) on the video player that's 20 years old (that's no exaggeration. Apparently the teacher got that model as a wedding present in 1989.). That takes about 15 minutes to work out, and then we get into the exam. It was fairly simple, but we had to write over 2 pages in 30 minutes. Anyway... Lunch was spent watching one of the big chess games (our school has gigantic chess pieces, and 2 chess boards painted on the ground. That's what you get for going to Hurlstone.), and doing some rehearsal for Dance for PE. Which reminds me, I also have a practice tomorrow arvo. Period 5 was spent in Maths, with Rawson teaching us about the ideas of mathematical induction without actually telling us what it was. (I Wiki'd it today: not recommended. From what I can understand, it's proving a hypothesis mathematically. That's about all I understood before it got confusing.) Next was Drama, which was really funny. We all moved the tables and chairs to the sides of the room before class so we didn't have to do theory, then sat on the ground as a form of silent protest. After this and a lot of talking (so much for silent protest), Kolodziej sort of blew his top. That was followed by about a minute of silence. Yeah. It was also funny for another reason: Cameron started to sing Katy Perry. Specifically, 'Hot N Cold.' Cameron. Singing Katy Perry. That was just so random and so funny. Speaking of music, the song stuck in my head is 'Don't Stop Me Now.' So I got home, and after doing homework, I get on my laptop: and Episode 35 is out (but don't bother going on the website. Youtube it.). 3 weeks, 3 episodes. That is a miracle. Long live LK. And, as always, bloody hilarious.
Such ends Monday, and what a Monday it's been. I end with a quote by some guy called Tom Wilson (I use this site), 'cause thinking outside of school is... something...

Bloody Mondays...
Back to school, and I had had enough of Monday by period 2. But, more importantly, I have had enough of Matt, Cam, and Mango, all together. Alone, Cameron is a great friend, as is Mango, (Matt, no comment.) but together they just get unbearable. I'll get into this in a minute.
Before school we saw the Shafi sing-o-gram video on Ian's phone. That is one funny video. Someone should Youtube it (hint hint, Ian). Period 1 was Ag. That was basically a bludge. Then, it was History. I swear, the only person who can even come close to Hancock in funniness is Johnson, and not intentionally either. Example: when calling the role, it's, to pick a name at random, 'Jordan of the Hall?' She's hilarious. Then, came Recess. And we (by we, I mean the 3 people I just mentioned, mainly Matt and Cam, talking to me) got into, for some unknown reason, why I do not have a girlfriend. 'Harden up' was mentioned more than once. Quite frankly, I've had enough from Cam telling me why I don't have a girlfriend (quite ironic, really), then Matt making 1 or 2 (bad) jokes, and then going on to say 'Ya mum... squid!' Yeah, yeah, if that ever happens again, I'll stop actually responding and just ignore it, especially Matt. There was also rather a large, shall we say, 'toss-up' at lunch with me and Matt. I'll get around to that. But, anyway, where were we?
Ah yes, Recess. Next was period 3, which was Maths and in which Mr. Rawson decided to give us 3 Unit Year 11 work. It felt like someone was drilling a hole in my skull, it was that torturous. Why did we have to do this? Let's move on. Period 4 was Science, a much-welcomed bludge after period. After this, it was Lunch. Basically what happened was that I was imitating Matt to Vitale (quite well, if I do say myself), when he heard me. If you'll imagine, I was talking to my right, and Matt came in to my left. At this point, I did a double-take, whereas Matt started on his 'the world is crap, my life has been one nightmarish event after a while, you're lucky I'm nice' crap. Heard it all before, had enough. Basically, I ignored it. I figured Matt wants to intimidate people. So I just became indifferent. Good. We (me, Eric, and Vitale) ended at making parody songs about that incident in Cam's cabin in Year 9. It's still funny. Period 5 was Commerce, in which we brainstormed some things for tomorrow (I think), and Period 6 was English, which was watching TV. Today, the bus was also late, and I got home around quarter to 4. Ah, well.
I also found out that the concert is actually tomorrow, not Wednesday. I blame Jo (Shaylee's mum), who told my dad, who told me that it was Wednesday, when it is, in fact, Tuesday. And cricket photos are also on Tuesday. Luckily, concert takes priority. W00t! I also found out that Metro Station is in it, which is good. Well, I guess that just about wraps up today. I predict that tomorrow will be a great day, with the concert, the first Drama lesson (in the Drama room) since last Monday, and my new ignoration of Cam and Matt with their annoying lectures. I end today with a quote I believe in (which I made up), and may or may not be true, and which I'm not sure if I should add to my list of mottos. Comment if you can! (Please. I wonder what people think of my blog. At least, people who read it.)
