This play on words inspired by the idiom 'trip up' (I think it's an idiom. I was never good at working out which was which, although hopefully this article will help.). It's a play on words, as we made a trip, and it was up north (actually, north is only considered up because that's where Europe and Western civilisation is. It really doesn't matter; it's an arbitrary thing. Just another thing you learn from Wikipedia. It's amazing what you can learn. Did you know Australians picked Wellington for New Zealand's capital? Neither did I! Anyway.). So, let's get to my day.
We were woken up at around 6:30, which you think I would be used to. But no, I was completely shocked, and I wasn't too cooperative, to say the least. But, we packed up, and we set off by about 7, with neither Uncle Nudge nor Darcie even stirring. We got breakfast at about 8:30, by which time I was rather hungry. I spent the time in the car mostly reading, and as I'd finished the book Shay lent me, I started reading a book that Dad had gotten me on Friday, which was a Bill Bryson book (so, it's gotta be good. And it was.). The long trip was finished by about 9:30, after doing... what exactly in Canberra? Reading, watching TV and being deprived of a decent net connection. Ah well, it wasn't really for me and EJ, it was for Mum and Dad. Anyway.
When we did get home, I promptly got out my laptop, and began to actually blog, and we both put on the TV (I mean, we weren't able to watch stuff besides your free-to-air channels at Canberra. Although I'm not really complaining; they had good stuff on. I'm just saying, we couldn't. Anyway.). I blogged for a while, although I didn't seem to get too far. These things happen, and they are quite annoying, I must say (hence the late posting that has been a severe problem for a while and that seems shall be a problem forevermore. Yes, I said 'forevermore.' Sounds like something out of an Edgar Allen Poe poem, 'The Raven' in particular, for those who don't know). I did this for a fair while, but evidently not as much as I would like. So here I am.
That was essentially what happened during my day (this sentence is getting a bit repetitive. I am fully aware. I am trying to differentiate a little.). I know, I am fully aware that this post was very late, and rather short. It makes for a rather subpar post (although, the title is good. Every cloud has a silver lining, I suppose.). I will really try to do a lot of posts on the one day, definitely by the time the 300th post rolls around. It will be severely annoying if it shows up and I have a backlog of something like four posts. Oy vey.
Damn, that's a short post,

Canberraman
He's a nerd talkin' metal coated Canberraman... OK, I drove to Canberra, and I was just parodying 'Candyman.' By metal coated, I refer to braces, and nerd talkin', well, I tend to use longer words than your average person. Also, have you noticed I explain my titles in almost every post? Would this be because I'm trying to take up space? No. Is this explanation of explanations (and this being an explanation of an explanation of an explanation, ad infinitum) simply to take up space. ...Perhaps.
I got up at around 7:30, and I went to blog. I am trying to catch up, trust me (right now, this means this closing paragraph may be a little strange. Stay posted! No pun intended.). So I blogged a bit, and at about 11 (I know I'm covering a lot in a few lines, but it can all be pretty much condensed to watching TV and going on my laptop. Repetition and uneventfulness are the enemy of interesting posting, as well as longer posting. Brackets partially remedy this. For example: this.). I then went to pack for the trip to Canberra. We were going because Mum and Dad were going to a friend's fortieth birthday party, and it's not exactly like EJ and I could stay home by ourselves (well, I suppose theoretically we could, but it wouldn't be too safe, I'm guessing.). So I packed books and my 'New Scientist' magazine, among other things, into my laptop case (because, of course, I brought my laptop. It would be crazy not to.), and by about 2 or 3, we set off.
I read for about half the trip, maybe a little more. I read mostly from the book Shay lent me, but also from my magazine. For the other part, I essentially did some logic puzzles that I brought, although I got bored of them quickly. I used to love them, but now I'm sorta bored of them, and they're not really that exciting (that feeling isn't that fun. I'm sure most people know what I'm talking about here.). Anyway. When we did eventually get to Canberra, I messed around a little with the phone Dad gave me, which I've started taking a liking to because it can take pictures and video. My other phone can't do that (although it does have some good games on it. This phone doesn't. Ah well. Take some, leave some.). I then went outside and played with EJ a little, and relaxed on the rocking chair, reading. When I get my own place, I will be getting some sort of rocking chair or swing chair or something like that, and read on it frequently. They are really relaxing.
Eventually, Mum and Dad left for the party, and we were left with Uncle Nudge and Darcie (have I honestly not mentioned that yet? Guess not. Well, now you know.). Darcie was soon put to sleep (literally, not the other kind.), and EJ found the Xbox 360, and began to play Monopoly on it (he forgot to take his books and such out of Dad's car before they left. Oy vey.). He seems to enjoy it. Me, I was a bit of a back seat driver on it. Soon, we got dinner, and watched some movies that were on TV. We watched the second half of 'Robots,' (It has Robin Williams in it, which I did not know. However, watching it again, I can hear his voice.) and then 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' came on (damn, that's a long title.). It's a fun movie, so we watched that. Meanwhile, I was trying to post, but then the dongle (the little thing that gives you wireless internet) stopped working after EJ pulled it out, so I got out a notebook and pencil and started blogging the old fashioned way (not that that's really blogging. Anyway.). I ended up getting to bed at around 11.
That was what happened on my day. There is another excuse for not getting up to date on posting, which has become more and more of a problem. It's getting quite annoying, and I want to get up to date by my 300th post, which is in about two weeks. Jees, I better get to work.
Wow, it's almost 300 posts...,

On The Road Again
That's a song by Willie Nelson, which I'm sure most of you have heard of, but if you haven't, then here is the Wikipedia article. Anyway. I am actually quite happy with this title, although this makes it three of the past four post titles being references to songs. Ah well. I still like it. Well, yes, we drove back to Sydney today, and you can find out all about how it happened in this edition of AB: A Blog.
I got up at around 8:30 (why rush?), and we began to pack up. Once we were sure that everything was gotten (and we were definitely sure), we headed off for Sydney at about 9, maybe 9:30. At first, I read, and that continued for about 45 minutes (I'm just having a wild stab in the dark here. I could be way off. After that, though, EJ and I decided to play our DSs (that's the plural of DS, as in Nintendo DS. Seriously, how do you pluralise something like that?). We went underground (oh, we're playing Pokemon. Might as well mention that.), and we battled. The first battle ended in a narrow loss by me (only because I used the wrong things), and the second ended in a win by me, because I strategised (hooray for strategy!). After that, though, my brother's DS died (what a coincidence; that's what happened to mine), so I played a single-player game for most of the rest of the trip.
When I got home, I had to unpack, and then clean my room. And by clean, I mean a big overhaul: move stuff, throw stuff away, dismantle the stuff in various drawers, and essentially, rearrange most of the contents of my room. That took quite a while, and after it was done, I was happy just to kick back for most of the rest of the day. I didn't go to hapkido, mainly because I just wanted a break. Instead, I did some blogging (as I did barely anything and am now paying for it with a lot of time), and watched TV, such as Rove. As days go, it was a fairly relaxing one.
And that was my day. Sorry for the fairly short post, everyone, but in all fairness, nothing much happened, and I have been trying to get back on track. Ah well. Once in a while, I suppose, a short post is inevitable. I might prefer long posts, but sometimes they are really hard to write.
Such ends the Canberra saga,

O Canberra
I reference the anthem 'O Canada,' which is the national anthem of Canada (there's a shock). I don't exactly know why I referenced it, other than to make (in my mind, at least) a clever title. Anyway. Enough justification; we drove to Canberra; this much is obvious. So, without further ado, to my day.
I woke up at around 7:30, and as we had packed clothes the last night, I wasn't in any particular hurry to get ready. However, predictably, time crept on me, until it was 8:30-ish and I hadn't even packed my laptop (why do I do this?). So I rushed around, putting together my laptop, books I was going to read (I think I brought four. Yes, four.), some of the materials for writing my book, as well as an assortment of other such items, like my iPod, portable radio and DS. When I go somewhere, I am prepared for almost any eventuality. So after Nanny got here (as she and Mum wanted to see this place called Floriade; more on that next post), we set off on the road to Canberra.
The whole trip took 2 and a half hours, and Mum, EJ, Nanny and I all entertained ourselves in our own ways. Mum and Nanny listened to Robbie Williams (of course) and talked; EJ read and played his DS (I think, not entirely sure); and I read Harry Potter 6, and then moved on to 7. That took up pretty much the entire car ride, really. I was going to play DS halfway through, to EJ's persistence, but it ran out of power and died about 3 minutes after I started to play it. Ah well. When we got to my Dad's place, we unpacked, and then we went out to get lunch. Lunch was chips and juice, although it took a few goes to get unexpired juice. We then decided to take a trip to the War Memorial.
We didn't do too much there, as we'd pretty much seen most of it. But we did go to show Nanny our relative (on Dad's side, so not related by blood to Nanny) who had died at Gallipoli: Angus Valentine Cameron, known to the Memorial as Angus Cameron (how do I know this? It was at the last time I was at the War Memorial, April 21. I do so love how I can do that now; my blog is like an extension of my memory.). EJ prompted a classic blonde moment by going 'Here he is!' I replied, 'Those are the "L"s, EJ.' Funny (turns out he was looking for our last name. Still funny, though.). We then went to the shops, and came home, where we stayed. There, my fears were confirmed: there would be no internet for the entire weekend. And that is why the posts are late. So for the rest of the night, I made some stuff on Spore, blogged a bit, and watched the movie that was on TV: 'The Incredibles.' It may be a kids movie, but it's good (Pixar movies are always good. Always. It's difficult saying the best, but 'Wall-E' would definitely be up there.).
And that was the first day in Canberra. Tomorrow's post may be a bit longer, because we went out for longer. Lateness would usually get a mention here, but I think I've covered it. Anyway. Soon I'll get back to schedule; it'll be hard, but I'll try.

Returning to Normal
And, it's true. Everything just seems to be going back to normality. The holidays still remain, but we're nearing the end. Why is it going back to normal? Well, I'm back in Sydney, I'm (however reluctantly) doing homework, and I went back to hapkido today, for the first time in weeks. (And, my titling is improving. Or so I think.) But, to my day.
I woke up around 6:45, and promptly went back to sleep. Too early. I then properly woke up at around 7:30, when I got up, and blogged about the previous day (explanation provided in yesterday's post. And, yes, I know it's late, but I was doing hapkido for a while.) This went on until about 9:15, when I finished up blogging, after breakfast and all, and quickly packed up: it was time to go back to Sydney. I did a few things on the way back. I finished 'The Host,' I did some character development for my book, and sometimes I just looked out the window. I saw the town of Collector from that stupid Bega ad (I feel obliged to put a Youtube link in for all who haven't seen it. Link.). I saw a funny ad: 'There's room for all of God's creatures... right next to the chips and vegies!' That's about it, really. I also listened to music over my Mum's iPod, which was attached to the car (speaking of music, the song stuck in my head is 'Beat It' by Fallout Boy. I loved it in Revathy and Bui's dance.). I listened to such songs as 'Pretty Fly (for a White Guy),' which apart from Britney Spears is basically the only song I remember from when I was really young. There was also 'Rock Lobster,' which I saw in a 'Family Guy' episode. I thought Peter made it up. That is a weird song. Another song was 'That Don't Impress Me Much,' by Shania Twain. Brought back memories, I'll say that. But, anyway. That was the trip back home. When we got there, we did some unpacking, checked the mail (I was supposed to get my New Scientist on Friday. It still hasn't come. Oy vey.), and did some homework. Then I basically surfed the net for a few hours, until it was time for hapkido. (That paragraph short enough for you, Victor and Ebony?)
We got to hapkido around 7; and there was almost nobody there (though, it was more than when I almost went into a closed furniture shop. I feel really retarded sometimes.). When class started around 7:15, there was a total of 11 people there. Later one red belt showed up, but that was it. Even Shay wasn't there, which was a first for me, but when we started, that was driven to the back of my head. We didn't do anything particularly tiring, but we didn't stop. I was helped with some of my moves by another white belt, and while doing forward rolls, I repeatedly hit my head and hip. I still have a headache. Hopefully it'll be gone by tomorrow. Anyway. Apparently my Mum and brother were watching for about half an hour, enough to see me hit my head, get hurt by some higher-level belts, and meditate. But, I still like hapkido. It's awesome. And now I'm blogging as quickly as I can, and trying to ignore my headache.
Comments, comments. 6, from presumably 4 people. I say presumably, because the last 2 are anonymous. But I think I can guess who they are.
*Ebony: Paragraphs; the eternal struggle. Please stop ranting about them. I get it. Yes, I'm awesome. And... what? What's wrong with Stephenie Meyer? I loved the movie, and if my 10 year old brother can watch it twice in 2 days, anybody can (I'm not kidding. Yes, it's weird.). How about, you can rant about paragraphs, if you lay off 'Twilight.' Deal? And I like the War Memorial as well, it's sobering (is that the word?).
*Victor: Is this 'Disagree with AB' Day? (and the answer is no, I'm guessing.)
*Rosa: I actually don't mind Canberra. If I had to live somewhere other than Sydney, it'd be there. ...oh, for crying out loud! Please stop bagging Stephenie Meyer, everyone. Please. I would be grateful.
*Ebony: I'm giving up now.
*Anon: Thank you anonymous commenter. Everybody listen to this person here. They get it. Learn from them.
*Anon: It was pretty fascinating. And my guess is... Shafi? Likes Meyer, has slight spelling problems, a friend... Yep, Shafi.
Well, I'd better sum up my day before too long. Tomorrow should be a lot earlier. Remember, I'm really trying. (And for no reason, yesterday's post was 1234 words long. Mild amusement there.)
I will try my hardest to blog earlier,

Road Trip!
If you're wondering what I mean, then wonder no more, for today, [yesterday. Bare with me. As has happened before, I'll post like it happened today, even though it happened yesterday.] the whole family went down to Canberra. And it has the net, thank god. And I know that I'm posting a day late, but that's because I went to a movie, and I had to share the computer with my brother, and we went out to dinner... you get the picture. But, this means I can say everything that happened during the day. So let's see.
I woke up, and as usual, went on my laptop, until breakfast. Then we had to pack for our trip to Canberra. I went on my laptop up until we had to leave, with me going on MSN and surfing the net, as usual. Then, around 12, it was time to go. I went with Dad, and EJ went with Mum. In the first few minutes, I read 'The Host' by Stephenie Meyer, before my dad put on Billy Joel. I listened to that for about an hour and a half, reading on and off. Then I figured it was a good time to work on a bit of my book, specifically character development. I still need a lot more time, though. After Billy Joel, my Dad put on Queen, which I sang along to. It still scares me that I know almost all of the words. So that was the car trip. It was over 3 hours. It got kind of repetitive, but it seemed shorter than the ride home on Saturday, probably because I was actually doing something. When we arrived at my Dad's place in Canberra, Uncle Nudge was already there, with his daughter Darcy. He was watching the match between Melbourne and Richmond. I bring this up because Melbourne were winning. So that's my tips shot for the round, after a win by West Coast as well. I only got 3 for the round. If anybody got 8 I'd be amazed. Anyway. After we unpacked, I got my Dad's internet dongle out, and went straight back on the net. I had to share with my brother, though, so I get it about half the time. At around 6 we went out for dinner, all 5 of us. We got home an hour later (well, not home so much as where we're staying. But it's a lot easier to say 'home'.) Then after a while on Spore and MSN, at around 9 we left for the movie. We went to watch this movie called 'Knowing,' which was pretty good: for about an hour and a half. I'm not going to spoil it, but just know that the last 20 minutes were both unsatisfying and an excuse to use up the special effects budget. Great effects, don't get me wrong, but overdone, in my opinion. It was unsatisfying in that, yeah, all the loose ends were tied up, but not in a way that was particularly enjoyable. The movie ended around 11:30, and on the car ride home, we discussed the movie, and tried to work out what some scenes meant. If you thought about them, they only really served as a function of the movie, rather than as something that naturally followed on from the preceding events. But that's just my opinion. And so that was my day.
Comments now. 4, again, but from 3 people, which is a bit better, or so I think. Anyway.
*Victor: Um... what?
*Karen: Indeed! Seriously though, how do you comment within 4 minutes?
*Karen: I go for the Blues because my Dad does. If they played anyone besides Carlton, I'd be all for the Swans. But just not when they're playing the Blues.
*Ebony: Bloody hell. What is with that "Victor/Ebony is cool" thing, anyway? And if you go to my blog after I went to an AFL game, expect commentary.
I'll just wrap up here. Sorry for the (incredibly) late post, I didn't have much time to do it in. Hopefully I'll be able to do the next post a little earlier.
It's not my fault I posted so late,
